    Thanks for the video Jim. Did not realize the coax setting was in there. Gotta re-run some stuff....

    I know this is an older video, but if you increase the points during the scan, you get greater granularity. For a sweep of the entire HF band, I'd choose at least 300 point, maybe even 900.

    Really good job showing us how the AntScope works and the information it can show us. Definitely easier than my NanoVNA .

      Interestingly enough, I believe that Antscope might work with your nanovna as well. SOmeone mentioned that to me, I've never tried.

      Hey Mike. There is also software for the nanoVNA. Search nanovna saver. Cheers.

      @@FEPLabsRadio I was going crazy cause first time I ran it and done a scan I couldn’t get any lines, markers, or anything to show on the graph, but in true overseas tech support the fix to the issue was truly close and restart the program lol.

      @@K5YVY It is the way. It's a little weird where the "connect" button is located, and it seems to me that sometimes it connects automatically, then it doesn't the next time. You know what the next step would have been, right? "Please re-install Windows".

      @@FEPLabsRadio yeah I also realized the usbC has to be pushed in pretty dramatically for a good data connection but not so much for a good charging connection 🤔

    Thanks for the clued up explaination ... great ... One question is the Phase tab/display ... I cannot find anything on the explaination anywhere ... very poor from RIGEXPERT ?... I assume its the phase of the antenna your measuring at a guess ? eg 5/8 being 255deg ...1/4 being 90deg but why is it necessary to take guesses at it ... Any1 clued up on this ?? and explain or know where a details technical explaination can be found ?

      I looked around, and found the Antscope manual on Rigexpert's site. Probably some more detail in one of their forums maybe? I don't know the answer to your question either.

    Great video. Is there any way to automatically identify the minimum swr and bandwidth at a desired SWR? The Stick Pro identifies the frequency of the lowest SWR automatically.

    • @FEPLabsRadio
      @FEPLabsRadio  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure I understand the question exactly - but let me see if I can answer you. The bandwidth is a function of the Q of the antenna. The minimum SWR for a particular antenna set up is based on the antenna characteristics, and what the frequency of interest is. So, you have an antenna for 40M - that's a range of frequencies from around 7-7.35Mhz. Somewhere in there is the lowest SWR for that given antenna, based on multiple factors. If you check SWR with an SA , or a RigExpert, you just have to sweep the range of interest, and you'll find the spot with the lowest SWR. It may or may not be exactly where desired. In that case, you might need to shorten or lengthen the appropriate antenna element to resonate in the area of interest.

    • @Aimsport-video
      @Aimsport-video 2 роки тому

      @@FEPLabsRadio Thanks. The manual sweeping part to find the minimum SWR can be automatic as it does in the Rigexpert app …usually. Lol. So there would be no need to sweep manually if a lowest SWR marker would appear each scan. If either a max SWR is entered or marker crosshair’s horizontal line are dragged it should show the start and end frequency at that SWR or better… automagically. Thank you for the video and reply. 73

    Will Nano vna open, short etc plugs can be used with RigExpert?

    • @FEPLabsRadio
      @FEPLabsRadio  Рік тому +1

      Ehhh, kinda? The set with the nano is SMA, the RE is an N connector. So, you would need N-SMA adapters. I wouldn't use those to calibrate the RE unless you're testing an antenna with SMA connection, and would have to use an N-SMA connector anyway. If you calibrate with adapter and SMA connectors, you need to test with that same SMA adapter on the RE.

      @@FEPLabsRadio I ordered the AA-2000. Should get there tomorrow or this week. Got also the Nano, but, the adapter seems to be the one that fits the RigExpert. This will be used for EFHW wires and Yagis. My GAming PC also has Blueetooth, so not sire if the thing will work with the OC app via that way. Thanks a lot.

      Alvin, right on the cursor?? It's the way I shared that out thru OBS. By Load test, you mean the calibration? Sure, just keep in mind that if you're connecting with a cable to the dummy load, that will affect the calibration, as well as your results down the road.
