just got my new AA-35 zoom in the mail a week ago just cant seem to put it down its like one of the best new toys ive ever gotten lol it works great jim thank you for the new video as always you have given us all great usefull information that helps us all in our magical amature radio adventures...as always im praying for you and your health and your family ..best wishes ..thomas in north central missouri ...73
The 55 model reveals the cable length and impedance within seconds. No math needed. Chock full of other features too. Well worth the value and additional cost. Thanks for your videos, de K3WR.
It is good to be scene. I had a tough two weeks in the hospital. I was in for a week. Out for two days. Rushed back by ambulance and had emergency surgery at 8PM the first day of the second visit. Both times I had severe sepsis with organ failure. I was in guarded condition and in isolation. 73, Jim W6LG
@@ham-radio glad you got through that Jim and have made it home. I know the feeling when health takes a turn for the worst and home is the best place to be. Rest up and take care. I’ll be in touch via email later.
Hi Jim: Thanks for your excellent videos. I've been playing with my new AA-35 Zoom for two weeks trying to figure out something obvious I guess. I'm trying to check the length of a new 50 ft RG8X coil of cable. I follow your instructions and have no problems until I try to figure out how to determine the last step.....how to multiply by the multiple of 1/4 lamda. In your example screen display how did you determine that "4" was the figure to use as the multiplier. I can't tell by just reading your screen. Thanks Roger
Just got the 55 zoom. Easy to use compared to my nano vna. tested them against each other on various items, readings were exactly the same. But the rig expert is easier to use.
Thanks. No, nets are not my thing. I chase DX. I do long path to Africa in the morning. Europe on the short path at night. I use the gray line. I am usually around 14200. I frequently talk with some friends on 14167 in the moring. 73, Jim W6LG
@@ham-radio I could hear the tools buttons clicking so I guess I’ll have to watch again. I’m just not at all familiar with the PC part of rig expert. I have the AA-55
That is the problem. The AA55 is a better choice. I usually have to run it buy the CFO and she wants to know why I need something. And that can be hard to explain. 73, Jim
My XYL is a HAM so justification isn't too hard, but if I get a toy, so does she! Thank you for the great videos, Jim - you're a mensch and an incredible Elmer to us all.
This is 4G1DFW Amateur Ham Radio. Here in Manila Philippines.. My Club station DX3H. My name is manny my Frequency 145.680. We have echolink transmitter Thanks
It does. I prefer this device because of the keyboard and the big color screen. The use is somewhat intuitive. The AA55 might be a better choice because of additional functions. Thanks for commenting. Much appreciated. 73, Jim W6LG
Don't you find that the RigExpert products are cheaply made? I sent mine right back... of course it was DOA...But, even if it wasn't DOA, I'd still have sent it back not being worth anything close to the asking price.
No, my AA-55 Zoom is fine. What are you expecting, a metal case? It's an incredibly useful piece of kit. I agree with Jim's comments about how well the manual is written and the menu system is so easy to use. The value is clear to me but of course everyone's expectations will be different. Y
Not at all. So far, so good. I paid full retail from a dealer. I believe it to be worth the money. I am often building and testing antennas. I am sory that yours was DOA and you did not have the opportunity to use the Zoom. 73, Jim
Thanks and great to see you looking so chipper. I appreciate this product demonstration.
Thanks for watching, 73, Jim

Yes, and if I had to do it over again, the 55 would be my choice. It is worth the extra $30 for sure. 73, Jim
I bought the RigExpert based on your previous video. Thank you for explaining things so well.
This is wonderful! Thanks for going over this Jim and great to see you back with another video. Thanks for the help on the AA-35.
Thank you Jim. I appreciate you sharing your experiences with all of us. Take care!
Thanks Jim,
Just like your first video, I've learned things about my RigExpert AA-35 that I didn't know. Another very informative video.
Glad it was helpful! 73, Jim
Good to see you Jim!

Thanks so much! I've learned a lot watching your videos and I appreciate it!
The 3000 should be interesting, as it has a different display, amongst other tools.👍

Well done.
Thanks, Jim
I would like to see this done on the tool itself not the PC screen. I’m not sure what buttons you are pushing or how it and with what it was shorted.
I used the device and not the computer. The computer was used just to get a stable picture. The pictures were screen grabs from the AA35. 73, Jim

Yeah, but unless you use one all the time, it's a bitch. This is more specialized. Fancy. Has a case...
