Im almost sure i used to service that car about 15 years ago when i worked for a porsche specialist in NW London. If it is, its pretty cool to see it still going and even going round the ring lol.
Something that occurred to me when the Lads popped in to say they would be posting their parts of the trip on their respective channels.
Auto Alex (all channels) in spirit is the best bits of the old TopGear shows with the 3 legends.
If you were to put the weekly vid from each of the channels and add the podcast you get the studio and the various components together.
I don’t mind that they are each individual parts at all for clarification. It’s just struck me that Alex and the gang are the true TopGear successors. Love you lads, thank you for giving this content to all us fans.

Isn't depreciation a fantastic thing. All these Cayenne's were owned by doctors, dentists, lawyers etc as yummy mummy mobiles and now 18 years later their true identity is being released off road and on track.

Regarding the gearbox, I believe you can reset the parameters by doing the following: 1. Ignition on (engine not started). 2 Push the accelerator all the way down and hold it for 20 seconds. 3. Take foot off accelerator & start the car. 4. With engine running, foot on brake (obviously) & pull the gear selector through all (P, R, N, D) and back again, and that should be the gearbox parameters done. 👍

@@dirkmierlo I saw a video of it being done on an Audi, so it may well work on the Cayenne. I even used the same method on a gen 3 SsangYong Korando auto, and it worked on that too!

@@huntingdon-classic-car-club In America it is towed on Dolly's, and most behind the scenes stuff of cars being filmed in the uk is on a trailer, or greenscreened in.
You guys were and are amazing! Another high mileage hero, full Porsche roadtrip to Germany, getting the cars on track and while being on track buying another Cayenne😂 Keep it going for as long as you can!
i think the first gen Cayenne is GORGEOUS! Curvey, classic porsche design on stilts with a V8. SO neat. Definitely of its time, but I think that should be enjoyed.
My Dad had a Cayenne Turbo, same colour, no roof bars. The mate he borrowed it off had decided it wasn't fast enough so he had the ECU chipped 3 times. So the car had around 600 hp. The thing flew, coming back from Silverstone.
Needed an oil top up every month, but that thing was a beast. Was sad my old man gave it back. But I believe it's for sale.

Love the tan interior, the Porsche did well! The 955 really is the ultimate performance SUV imo. Comfort/Performance & handling.

I own a first gen turbo, black, a SUV trying to look like a 911, mine doesn't have the runny egg headlights, and sits on 21" wheels. Not an every day driver, the trip computer on purpose won't show you fuel economy, and yet while not as cute as a Range Rover, is far and away the better car. Thanks for the entertainment, I look forward to more adventures with you guys.
I don't understand why anyone that doesn't live in the country and you know, actually gets snow for more than 1 day, bothers with winter tyres. All seasons wick water away much better than winter tyres and are cheaper.
Having RX04 plate prefix suggests it might have been a Porsche UK press car when new, might explain why it had a load of options on it. Crazy how good value these are at the moment
