Creative hobbies like art or baking weren't really a thing for me but since I enjoy nature and animals, I'm willing to try out drawing in my nature journal
This video is really well done. The content is interesting and well organized. You have a nice voice and a nice presence on camera. Additionally, the audio, videography and editing are very professional. Good luck and I hope you get a million subs. 👍🏻👍🏻
I love your videos. You have a soothing voice everything is done so meticulously. Please make more videos because I already watch them several times each :) My nature journal has already been created. It is a very engaging activity. I have been planning to start such a sketchbook for years now. Your videos have inspired me mega and the desire has been revived in me anew.
For a real beginner a pencil and what you already have is enough. Nature journaling doesn't requiere you to be a great water colour artist. Just try it :) dont be afraid of messing up
I love all your tips and tricks and advice for nature journaling. Do you have any advice for getting past bad journaling? I keep trying but get discouraged with my skills.
@ , all! I have been practicing my handwriting, just trying to make it legible!😳After years of not much practicing in penmanship I am taking time to just make it legible! I would like to get better at both sketching and watercolor. I think I have decent enough supplies. I always feel like my drawings and paints are flat! No dimension. So maybe it’s the layering and shading. Your tip using the scrap book paper for lay outs was very helpful to focus in on a subject. I made sure to take some pictures so I could reference them when I got home from my cabin.
@@Akforgetmenot Gotcha! Penmanship does boil down to two things for me…1)Practice 2)Write slowly. I speed up the video for time’s sake but I definitely take my time writing. For painting…I just made a video with 9 tips. Try drawing very simple things at first either by looking at the item or a photo. Then draw it simply…add layers! 😀 Stop, look at your work to compare. Also, if you don’t like your drawing…you can practice it several times and use the best one. My biggest tip is to not give up as making art is so important to do and you are definitely going to improve as you continue to practice with references❤️ I hope that helps for now…I am working on an idea for art journaling tips in the next month or so!
I love the Mechanical pencils too, however art supply places CHARGEE for more for even the Paper Mate BEST PLACE and time is WHEN SCHOOL is about to start.. Wall Mart , Target. charge far less. Dollar Tree, this year I did not find the 9 Point Mechanical Pencil , nor 9 point lead at Target or wall Mart. as well as the 5 point. they seem to be concentrating on size 7. Even Office Supply did not carry the 5 or 9 point lead. Lucky for me I did get several. when school supplies were in open season. probably Best time for Journal books. and water color. supply, or colored pencils.
Thanks for the tips! School season is definitely a good time to buy office supplies. I do buy some mechanical pencil supplies from JetPens.com. They carry the different sizes of graphite too at reasonable prices. My favorite mechanical pencil is Pentel Twist Erase because of the large eraser. I usually only order a few times of year from them because of shipping. They carry 1000’s of items though. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Oh my, you’ve just given me permission to go to the art supply section! That’s always fun.

@@Akforgetmenot Thank You 😊! As to your question…what are you referring to when you say, “bad journaling?” Subject matter? Handwriting? 😊🌿
