Just awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. The Eagle Cap Wilderness is somewhere I don't think I will ever get to and it felt like I was on the trip with you all. I hope Brandon caught a lot of fish!
Every adventure of yours is beautiful and exhilarating, and I know exhausting and rewarding for you..... Thank you for always taking me, my coffee and my fat behind on my chair with you ❤❤❤❤❤ Safe Travels Always 😊
Thank you for filming all of this Beauty and then sharing it with us! The camping looked so fun. The Dogs were living the life! They are such obedient Dogs. I was thinking beer and then you said it. Made me laugh. I knew it would be the can with the girl on it.🍻 Cheers!
Omg!! The scenery and photography is stunning! Thank YOU!! So happy to see these. You all have a great winter! Not sure how it is up north here in Idaho, but down south a nice gentle winter in the flatland! Happy New Year and thanks for the views!!
I did a lot of backpacking in the Eagle Caps in the mid-1970s and through the 1980s. I climbed Eagle Cap mountain and the Matterhorn there as well. A great area for backpacking.
Golly, I sure love the Wallowas. Haven't been up there in years. Maybe I could do it again someday (if my family could help me 🙂😊) Thanks for the video.
They are a special place! There are a few drainages that I have been in that are a gentle grade up and not difficult. It would be a great way to ease yourself into the mountains!
love this place. China Cap ridge is my primary stomping grounds, just above the Minam. Beautiful land, and many trails reduced almost just to game trails -- real wilderness. It's like a secret mini Glacier
I highly recommend them! I'm hoping to get back soon myself. All of the music in the videos comes from me. Either music made for the videos or from bands I have been in.
Hey sir!! This was absolutely gorgeous!!! You have a way with that camera!! That scenery is somethin else!!! I had a question about your hammock setup. Did you have tensa poles with your setup? If so, how do those things work? Good to catch one of your vids again!!! NQU PS. A friend of mine lives in Corvallis and he wants to do a trip out in the eastern mountains of Oregon.
If you want a fun hike, try the main Eagle over the pass to Pop Lake. A side excursion could be to Little Pop but that might be a whole lot to take on.
Had to get the map out to check where this was. After seeing this country, I'm a little sad we didn't go that way. Our original route wasn't going over that pass to Pop Lake, but up to Cached Lake. That high basin that Pop Lake sits would be an amazing place to spend some time!
@@mountainwanderer We did it a while ago. There was an old trail that went up the south side of the ridge opposite Pop lake. The trick is finding a path off of the ridgeline but the hike down to the lake and down to Minam was easy once you are off the top. You will, once you are on that ridge, see the other trail to your east, but no trails go into that basin.
Great video! I enjoy watching your adventures! Especially Wyoming ones and specifically the WR Range. (born here in 1960) Just one problem with your videos... so many I can't keep up!! 🙂 One question though if might ask... your guitar music always fits in well with the video, may I ask where I can find music like that for my videos? Thank you! Keep on hiking man!!!
Thank you! The Winds is a magical place! I didn't get over there in '24, but hoping to get a trip in the Winds in '25. About the music, you cannot get that anywhere. All of my music is music I have recorded, either in some of the bands I've been in or now days, I write music specifically for the videos. But it all comes out of my studio.
@@mountainwanderer Wow! Your own music makes it even cooler than before! I took my first backpack trip ever in the Winds in the summer of 1969 with my uncle and cousin. Been hooked ever since. Took 11 trips last summer. Had to go on in to Raft lake to see for myself how in the world you guys took the wrong turn winding up Wilson Creek! JK 🙂 Didn't see hide nor hair of the Griz (there is more than one, at least 3 that I know of) that has been hanging out in the area. I will be spending most of the season in the Winds this year.
@mountainwanderer exactly, when some of the Irish back in Ireland say "you look like a girl with long hair!" You can say, "I was bjorn(born) to be wild"(I like watching a Norwegian UA-camr named Bjorn Andreas Bull Hansen; he reminds me of a wee bit of my Dad's Dad(along with around 20 to 30% Irish ancestry, my Dad("Sigifredo Jr."; he always says "I'm European & East Asian"; his grandmother Lita(who had Native American ancestry yet looked very East Asian(Japanese & Korean + Northeast Asia+ intersection); I know not all Natives feel connected to them, with some moreso Polynesian and even some have maternal ancestry, haplogroup X like with the Lakota, connected back to West Asia, also connected & related to Northwestern Anatolia,Troy, & Thessaly Greece in Europe; I found out my Dad's main maternal lineages was Haplogroup D4h3, which essentially came from Japan & East Asia through Haplogroup D4h(D) over 20,000 years ago) looked similar to my PNW Wolf Clan(British Columbia+) Native American old friend Jess("Medieval Japanese lady(strong woman deep down)"; she had long raven dark hair) & An indigenous Ainu Jomon+ Elder in Hokkaido, Japan who was recently interviewed by a Japanese UA-camr named Kinko Ito) had around 7% Norwegian ancestry, as well as around 11% Finnish seemingly enough), who I saw in a photo 🕯🔥🌧🌈
The fall foliage added to the beauty of the meadows, lakes, mountains, sunsets and clouds. Good to have the time to take it all in.
It's my favorite time of the year to be out there!
Wonderful and beautiful! Thank you for taking us out there! Loved it all!!!!!
Thank you for watching as always!
Beautiful lake, thanks for sharing. I love the Wallowa's....been there with wife when she was still on this earth.
I glad to hear that you got to share that with her. Cherished memories
Just awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. The Eagle Cap Wilderness is somewhere I don't think I will ever get to and it felt like I was on the trip with you all. I hope Brandon caught a lot of fish!
That is part of the reason that I post these videos! No fish on this trip unfortunately.
That’s sure a beautiful place! Thanks for taking us along!
You should take a trip over there sometime! Worth it!
Love your trips!! This one was especially gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Hidden Lake was off the charts beautiful! Thank You for videoing this epic hike. Looking forward to The 2025 Season.
The peaks surround you on all sides at hidden lake! It is a gem for sure!
Love it! Awesome country and great photography (and music!), as always. Really gives me the itch to get back out there ASAP. Happy New Year!
It gave me the same itch! Ready to get the season started! Hope all is well at the ranch, my friend!
Every adventure of yours is beautiful and exhilarating, and I know exhausting and rewarding for you.....
Thank you for always taking me, my coffee and my fat behind on my chair with you

Thank you! I'm so happy that people get anything out of the videos! As long as I am out there trekking, I'll bring a camera along

❤️
What a great trip. I love the Eagle Caps.
They are magnificent!
I used to hike there in the 90's I'm to old now. Thanks for sharing 👍
Glad we could show it to you again! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful trip thank you for it. The shot with the dogs jumping the log was awesome 😁
Lucky for me that throw wasn't closer because that dog would've went through me without a second thought! 😂
Thanks for sharing! I live 4 hrs from here and have never been in those mountains. Took the Tram at Wallowa a couple of times!
They are wroth a trip! One of my favorite ranges to be sure!
awesome as always. I imagine I'm there in a younger body!
I would love running through there as my younger self!
Aaaahhh! That was so lovely. Glad to see you guys and dogs out on the trail again - and in a more relaxing hike than last time! Thanks a bunch!
This was definitely a more relaxed trip! It was great enjoying a slower pace.
Great video again Travis. Just got the knee replacement surgery done. I’ll be back wandering the mountains with the group again.
That is great news! Cheers to a speedy recovery!
This was a really fun trip! Radio Beer always has pin-up theme, there's usually some kind of girl on it. 😂🍻
Omg!! The scenery and photography is stunning! Thank YOU!! So happy to see these. You all have a great winter! Not sure how it is up north here in Idaho, but down south a nice gentle winter in the flatland! Happy New Year and thanks for the views!!
Winter is starting to kick into gear up here! Doing our snow dances!❄️
Dang, Travis. Pretty sweet looking camping spots. Fall is my favorite season for backpacking. Cheers!✌️
Fall is my favorite season by far! I try to go as much as I can.
I did a lot of backpacking in the Eagle Caps in the mid-1970s and through the 1980s. I climbed Eagle Cap mountain and the Matterhorn there as well. A great area for backpacking.
I love the area! I cannot wait to get back!

I'll second that! Love this place! I'm already looking forward to exploring more of it!
Great video! The Wallowas are on my list for this summer. Where are you getting your music from?
I highly recommend them! I'm hoping to get back soon myself. All of the music in the videos comes from me. Either music made for the videos or from bands I have been in.
@mountainwanderer Thx, your music is great

Thank you! No, I don't use Tensa poles. I've thought about trying them out, but I rarely go to places where I cannot find a couple decent trees.
What a fantastic trip. I like a trail that just goes straight up - that's how we do it in New England!
I'm not even sure that these trails were as steep as the ones in the Whites!
The 2 best looking dogs on UTube!
They are good pups for sure!

11 times in to the Winds sounds amazing!
I see you're growing your hair a wee bit longer; I am too(been growing it out for over a year now; helps balance the beard lol) 🕯🔥🌧🌈
Got to have something to blow in the wind!
