I like how he doesn't want to take her back because she made a fool of him but I like how he does it respectfully nothing vindictive he just tells her goodbye and good luck.
I played Bass for Phil Lipari (Philo Perry) back in those times around 1961 to 64. I believe the flip side of this record was "Hitchhike Sailor". as I remember him going to New York to record it on DECCA. He was from Canonsburgh Pa. home of Perry Como and Bobby Vinton. There is another record of his he did before this one. "Later for You Darling" ua-cam.com/video/tkMW7lfI1Pw/v-deo.html Here is the flip side of "Later for You...." .called "Please Come Back"....ua-cam.com/video/rJKhGYW_wXA/v-deo.html These were his first recorded songs. We played these songs at clubs around Canonsburgh and Washington Pa. He was a True showman and loved playing music. Phil was also a superb boxer. I played with him also in 1967 until I went on the road with another singer from the Pittsburgh area named "Johnny Daye" on STAX Records who was a protege' of Otis Redding.
@@j-6998 Thanks for this interesting information, I didn't know anything about Phil. It's a shame there aren't many more recordings of him. You're right, the flip-side is "Hitch-Hike Sailor"
@@doowopcologne Could you put that side up here? I haven't heard that song for years, since we played it when I was in Phils band. I'd been looking online for it but never found it. I'm pretty sure "Hitchhike....was the A side and this "Don't Cry.... was the B side I think.. Here is another one he did similar to Neil Diamond style ua-cam.com/video/lNLwkvl7GSs/v-deo.html and here is another one ua-cam.com/video/S1SYuCkJkuE/v-deo.html He also played guitar.
Really a great song!!!
It's amazing how many great songs have slipped through the cracks and faded into obscurity. Thanks for bringing this fabulous song back to life.

Beautiful Song ❤
Reportence esos viajeros del tiempo escuchando esta reliquia en el 2024
Nice song, good story. She ran around on him now he doesn't want her back. Crying won't help. He has a good voice.
I like how he doesn't want to take her back because she made a fool of him but I like how he does it respectfully nothing vindictive he just tells her goodbye and good luck.
This song remember me of a section in the novel Five December; James Kestrel
