You can also use,A iron, parchment paper, and flowers, leaves, plants (etc) step1: put your flowers, plants etc in between to pieces of parchment paper, step 2: plug your iron up wait for it to get hot, final step iron the parchment paper.(also if your gonna do this put a towel underneath or use a ironing board)
This is very pretty! I saw another tutorial using heated bricks in the microwave but your way means I can try it straight away. I'm so excited! Thank you x
I put the paper with the flowers inside between ceramic tiles and use elastic bands to hold them together. You should use the lowest setting on your microwave to reduce browning and heat for 30-60 seconds at a time until they’re dry. Make sure to let everything cool completely in between.
The type of paper matters if you want to avoid setting your house on fire. Also, you didn't mention the wattage of your microwave. I won't be trying this because I don't want to risk it; people in the comments seem to have had mixed experiences.
Just completed this for the last Summer flowers to frame :) Thank you!!!! I used a 1000 Watt Microwave. And I personally folded/doubled my Kitchen Towel to press out moisture. Blasted on 30 second intervals. Should come out with damp spots & flat within about 3 minutes (in case you use bigger petal flowers like I did)
It worked PERFECTLY thank you. I used regular paper and paper towel. I also didn't put it in for a full 60 I would do 25 check on it and do longer if needed at a shorter time. It worked out great
OH, thank you so much for this. As a kid, I loved my grandma's pressed flowers I'd find within the pages of our huge family bible. And I've always wanted to do this, but they never turned out as pretty. Now, I have your secret! Oh, golly - grandma would be so proud. Haha
@@kinley5831 the flowers dont change their color or wilt when you press them if you keep them in a safe place. if you keep them in a dry envierment nothing will happen to them but keeping them somewhere cold or wet could get you moldy flowers. They are also really delicate so dont touch them too much 😄
Thanks so much for the advice! It worked out well! I had some troubles with the flowers sticking to the paper and I’m not really sure why but most turned out great !
This might sound totally dumb? I need to press flowers and then give them to a business so they can put them into a key chain pendant for me... how long do you think the flowers will last? Would I need to go ahead and deliver them the very same day?
Where did you purchase the glass frame? Also, could you tell me where to find the video you mentioned about another way to use the pressed flowers? Thank you
YESSS I HAVE SOME PRETTY FLOWERS IM TRYING TO PRESS OUTSIDE MY HOME CAUSE THE COLORING SO I CAN USE THEM IN MY RESIN KEYCHAINS AND YESSSSSSS IM SO HALLLOPPDSHDIEBSUHNSID IM SO HAPPY FOR THISS
This might be kind of a dumb question but is it okay to put pressed flowers in your notebook? I really wanted to do some art with them but I'm not sure if they wont turn brown and leave that "dry flower" smell?
Thank you so much sharing this! I'd been eyeing up the microwave presses for sooo long but they are so expensive! 😭😭 Honestly this video has totally made my day! Thank you thank you ❤️❤️❤️

i’ve used an iron to press flowers between two sheets of regular printer paper when i hadn’t the time to wait,, worked very well for me
Don’t those flower pedals stick to paper?
Sadia Afrin a little bit but not enough to be an issue
Thanks. I don't have microwave.
@@slowjoy9 same here
Looks like I need to use the iron trick too, I've to submit my herbanium by today.

This wasn't the top comment, but ok. Nice idea!
Ananya Moses it is on my screen no need to be like that
How long am I supposed to iron the flower for???
Will the color last?
yea this totally burned some of my flowers.gonna press instead
This is very pretty! I saw another tutorial using heated bricks in the microwave but your way means I can try it straight away. I'm so excited! Thank you x
Oh that's interesting. I guess bricks would work too. Thanks so much xo
Do not use bricks, they can easily explode!
I just watched that one and this is much better XD
Lmao. Bricks.. She is like wow bricksssss tell me more.. Kill me 😂
Haha same and i was like hell nah ni bricks

Thank you so much. It's a good method for impatient people like myself...lol

You can just iron the paper but don't burn it
Oh and use parchment paper, I saw it in another comment
Or put a cloth napkin on top of your paper and iron that
as soon as I tried . it started making sound .got scared and I just turned it off as one of the flowers started oozing out oil.. eek
I have used this method over and over with no problems

This is the best microwave tutorial i've seen! All the other ones use that awful press thing and it makes the flowers look warped imho. Well done!
It worked PERFECTLY thank you. I used regular paper and paper towel. I also didn't put it in for a full 60 I would do 25 check on it and do longer if needed at a shorter time. It worked out great
I did the same as you popped it in for the full 60 seconds. 1200W microwave and No problem at all. They came out perfect!
I love that they retained their vibrant color! Thank you! ♥️
I really appreciate this tutorial! You present so nicely and I love the idea of the glass frame. I will definitely use this for a gift idea. 💗😇✨

I’m gonna cry, this is the most wholesome thing I have ever read 💜
Did exactly how she said in a 1200W microwave, worked perfect! Thankyou 💞
I love how creative you are
Thank you so much!!!! I used a flat iron and it worked really well 😇😇😇😇😇
I like to watch you work. The dryer flowers are so beautiful
Ive been using drying oven for my herbarium collection since forever and idky i nvr thought of using microwave before. Good tips !
I don't think this dries them as much as you'd have to, the leafs are still wet, that'll cause problems later on.
THIS WAS SHGORT AND TRUELY AMZING THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME HERE... THE ONLY DRAW BACK UNSETTLING WAS A COMMERCIAL AFTERWARDS ETC.
you have a very soothing voice! thanks for the tutorial!
They look gorgeous in a glass frame!
Lovely art my dear! Thank you for sharing!
It would be cool to add them to the finished watercolor painting! Great tutorial! TFS
What power option did you use for drying the flowers in the microwave? 400W,600W,800W?
i just literally press them against books for 2-4 weeks
ANYA C you can weigh them down by placing objects on top of the books
do the flowers wilt and if they do how long do they last before they start to wilt?

Very helpful for starting artists like me so thank you!❤
Love this! May god bless you and your family abundantly
Will the colour lasts?
I’m really Curious about that too
ShereenY. Wondering this also
Yes, it fades a bit as all pressed flowers but it's been a year and it still has color. :)
@@LucyAkins can you tell me where you brought your frame?
I dropped in to know that.
I pressed a bunch of flowers and now I don't know what to do with them
KKKKKKK I LOVE YOUR COMMENT

Use them in a bullet journal write something use washis to make it more colorful
i’m prepping flowers in advance for journaling
Im gonna make homemade paper and imma put it those
Thank you for sharing, I've been wanting to press flowers but knew only the old way!!! The micro way is great!!! New sub now....want to learn more!!
I don't have a microwave so what shall i do put a book or other heavy stuff and let it dry for 60 seconds or use an iron

will the flowers stay in that condition forever?

they won’t get a yellowish coloration after a while, right?
