I don't pretend to be a music expert by any means, but I honestly believe this is one of the best songs of the last 20 years, if not off all time. So beautiful.
The only way one could possibly one-up you is that I literally walked up on this show, unawares. I was visiting London for the first time, going to walk across Hyde Park and take in the scenery, came up on a bunch of people on blankets outside the back entrance, where you could get a view in and watch the show via the massive video screens spaced across the quarter million person audience. Hearing the show was not an issue. I asked the apparent picnickers, with their blankets, maybe 100 of them, what was going on, and they said, “Foo Fighters, concert!“ So I joined them. Thought to buy a ticket and go in, but there was this cute South Asian chick among the crowd, and I fancied her, so I ended up hanging out alongside her and taking in the whole show. It was unbelievable. The Foo Fighters were possibly the band I most wanted to see in the world that I hadn’t yet at that time, would’ve paid good money for the privilege, and here, London had welcomed me with this incredible, beautiful gift. I had come to see the city and to watch the Eagles play at Wembley Arena, next to the big stadium, the Sunday night right after this Saturday night. Weekend of amazing music.
this song just takes you from heaven to outer space, and every second you get to a whole new level of happiness... best song, best band, best feeling ever
I was here, 4 rows from the front. Dave had us eating from his hand during this song. The atmosphere was electric, it was a hot, sweaty night in London. And no nothing could ever be that good again 🥰

i love this performance i love the way he controls the crowd they want the first chorus to be explosive but he holds them all the way to that crescendo and delivers this beautiful stripped down version of everlong i can't imagine what it would have been like to experience that
Absolutely. My friend and I went to see the Foos at Wembley in June/July (can't remember) and they did this as one of the encores. Dave came right out alone on the elongated stage bit and started playing. Then it began raining slightly. It was perfect. Great atmosphere. Best band on Earth in my opinion.
I'm not an emotional person AT ALL, but this song, this live version gets me every time. Its so powerful! Who says that music to make you feel has to be slow and emo? ;)
