Absolutely. The first single is already out, and it sounds amazing, kinda like a modern take on Disintegration’s sound. The Cure is my favourite band and Smags reaction to Disintegration has got to be one his best videos yet IMO, and it’s what got me into his channel to begin with.
I’m SO EXCITED! I ordered all the vinyl variants. A grey marble one from Rough Trade UK, a white one and a 2 lp Half-Speed Master from The Cure. From what I’ve heard so far with the track “Alone”, it sounds very Disintegration era. 🩶🤍🖤
I remember when this came out. Great Britpop album. One of the albums that opened the era of mainstream Britpop. Being a Gen Xer, I recommend "Reading, Writing & Arithmetic" by The Sundays. One of the most beautiful albums from one of the coolest indie bands of the late 80s and early 90s.
Don't Look Back in Anger is goated. Should check out their live version in Argnetina, it's actually wild seeing the crowd sing every word and seeing Noel's face in awe.
Loved your reaction, us British know how to rock and Oasis are some of the very finest in my opinion. I've loved them from day one and they are the reason picked up a guitar 🎸
Been a fan since they debuted in 1994. Saw them live back in the day so I WAS there when we were getting high. And will be again next year for the reunion. Wonderwall doesn’t even make my top 30 Oasis songs. Do their first album Definitely Maybe and check out their B sides album The Masterplan. Honestly for an album that consists of only B sides it’s a masterpiece 🤘🤘🤘
I'd also recommend 'The Masterplan' - the collection of B-sides from the WTSMG? and the Definitely Maybe (first album, check it) sessions. All could've made the albums, and several are still played live by Noel (guitarist/vox/songwriter) in his band High Flying Birds. Cast No Shadow is a song written about/dedicated to Richard Ashcroft, vocalist of The Verve - a band you'd really enjoy. The producer of WTSMG? is Owen Morris, who produced The Verve's A Northern Soul, released the same year. Check that out. Or anything by The Verve. They'll send your arse to a different plane of reality.
This album changed music forever in England, It pretty much started the Britpop era and inspired kids to pick up the guitar and rock music had a revival. Wonderwall was a complete shift from the vibe of the rest of the songs.. It was like the bands ballard and sounds nothing like the rest of their back catalogue. Your right.. Dont look back in anger is the stand out song on the album but they were all bangers and thats why it's a classic
you're getting closer to listening to the Verve! "A Storm in Heaven" is a must, as is "A Northern Soul" . Verve and Oasis toured together during this Oasis album. two different sounding bands, but you'd very much like those albums.
Yeah, Blur had a much more original sound and more talent than Oasis, IMHO. And by most accounts less jerkish than Oasis. Gawd but I was sick of the Gallaghers.
A really interesting and underrated Brit pop band and album Mansun Six. I say they are interesting because this album in particular is very progressive. I can’t think of any Brit pop band having progressive elements let alone a progressive Brit pop album.
Albums reccs: Sufjan Stevens - Michigan (chamber pop, indie folk) The Beach Boys - The Smile Sessions (baroque pop, insanity) Title Fight - Shed (melodic hardcore, emo-adjacent) The Sundays - Reading Writing And Arithmetic (jangle pop) This Town Needs Guns - Animals (math rock)
Don't look back in anger, my favourite song since I was 13 and heard it on the radio for the first time. It took some time to figure out what it was! (that was 2004, barely got internet lol). Loved it ever since. Few months back I asked my fav tattoo artist for a tattoo picturing the girl in question, Sally, and it turned out great ;)
You should do the other two big britpop albums at least! Parklife by blur and Different Class by Pulp. Parklife is a really diverse album with killer melodies (and ironic lyrics about the state of 90s Brittain) and Different Class is a bit more personal and the lyrics feel more literary in a sense but it´s also really catchy.
As an Oasis fan myself, your top 3 is on point. Cast No Shadow was my favorite song growing up and Don't Look Back in Anger is such a better hit song than Wonderwall imo.
ahhhh yay!!!! thank you for all ur hard work!! don't look back in anger is my fav off this album such a classic!!! ik everyone always recs stuff but pls give "you'll never get to heaven" a chance pls
more modest mouse please!! id suggest it's a long drive for someone with nothing to think about, n then to go chronologically through building nothing out of something and then the moon & antarctica which is my personal fav
Awesome reaction man, I also agree that you should give their debut album “definitely maybe” a listen. But if you fancy it I prefer a lot of their live stuff, the whole of the knebworth 1996 concert is unreal. So much passion
Did you actually notice that there were 2 different vocalists on this? Don't look back in anger was sung by the lead guitarist and song writer Noel Gallagher. The rest was sung by brother and Frontman Liam Gallagher
Welp, since you’ve listened to Oasis, you must check out BLUR. They have tons of albums but my favourite is: BLUR 13 It’s SO F-ING GOOD!! Cheers! Keep up the great work!
Time for britpop-Smags! Appreciate this direction, even though Oasis is my least favorite band of this style... Would recommend to listening to Blur's "Parklife" and Pulps "Different Class"!
Hard to get get across how big they were in the UK at this time. They dominated the tabloids in a way that may never be seen again for a band of this style. The internet, decline of newspapers and linear TV means bands don't get that big any more.
Morning Glory…. It’s about cocaine and the whole song drops into perfect meaning if you change the word “Time” to “Line”… All your dreams are made when you’re chained to the mirror and a razor blade? Need a little “Line” to wake up, need a little “Line” to rest your mind, you know you should, so I guess that you might as well😂
Cast no shadow is about Richard Ashcroft, the lead singer of The Verve. React to their album Urban Hymns, it a banger with some of the best songs of the 90’s on there.
do the oasis b-sides to the morning glory singes, they were way better!! the masterplan, rockin chair, step out, whatever was a single on its own, aquiesce, talk tonight, headshrinker etc
PLEASE REACT TO LITTLE BUSTERS AND HAPPY BIVOUAC BY THE PILLOWS NEXT (they are both phenomenal japanese grunge/alt rock albums and are similar to oasis) IM BEGGING YOU
It’s notable that they reunited because the two brothers HATE each other. Next reaction should be the Wibbling Rivalry single lol. When I first listened to this entire album a couple years ago I was surprised by how much I liked it.
I’m sure everyone is going going to say it is, but their first album is “Definitely Maybe” is a must!
The Cure are releasing their first album for 16 years on November 1st. Definitely need a Smags to that.
Absolutely. The first single is already out, and it sounds amazing, kinda like a modern take on Disintegration’s sound. The Cure is my favourite band and Smags reaction to Disintegration has got to be one his best videos yet IMO, and it’s what got me into his channel to begin with.

He should listen to Head On The Door and Disintegration, too
@@JamesKovacicHe’s already heard Disintegration. He loved it.
I totally agree that he should listen to “The Head on the Door” though. 😊
Listen to Definitely Maybe its their best album. Be Here Now is good too.
STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS IS THE BEST ALBUM
@@bobsbigboy_BASED
@@bobsbigboy_ It's my favorite.
he doesn't like the drawn out choruses in this one so he'll really not like Be Here Now probably.
All of you weirdos need to stop. Morning Glory is their best. Hard stop. You might LIKE another one better, but MG is the best.
Love this album react to definitely maybe and be here now. Can’t believe I couldn’t get a ticket to any of their new shows
i love oasis so much how do u consistently review my favorite albums. Quebec, purple rain, now this

love the sundays
Don't Look Back in Anger is goated. Should check out their live version in Argnetina, it's actually wild seeing the crowd sing every word and seeing Noel's face in awe.
The thing that make's this album so great is those 10 songs (+ 2 interludes) is backed up by the B-Sides, most of which were album quality material
The sound of my childhood, glad you enjoyed it.
Loved your reaction, us British know how to rock and Oasis are some of the very finest in my opinion.

As long as you’re on 90’s Brit-Rock, I already suggested BLUR - 13
BUT also check out:
PULP - Different Class
Enjoy 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Different Class is the best Britpop album and it's not even close. Jarvis Cocker is the scene's most interesting songwriter
@@pigammon7843Jarvis has such humor and joy in the way he sings I always have a big smile on my face when I listen to them. Great band
Supergrass: I Should Coco is pretty good, too.
Suede’s debut, The Verve Urban Hymns, Manic Street Preachers Holy Bible would be great reactions.
you're getting closer to listening to the Verve! "A Storm in Heaven" is a must, as is "A Northern Soul" . Verve and Oasis toured together during this Oasis album. two different sounding bands, but you'd very much like those albums.
Agreed. Everyone who likes oasis likes the Verve and Ashcroft. Top bloke
Right as I finish watching your Cocteau Twins review, I get a notification for this killer record
Well played, Smags
Should do blur now. Their rivals :)
And waaaay better, imo.
13 by blur may change some lives

You’re absolutely right. Don’t Look Back In Anger is an incredible tune.
A really interesting and underrated Brit pop band and album Mansun Six. I say they are interesting because this album in particular is very progressive. I can’t think of any Brit pop band having progressive elements let alone a progressive Brit pop album.
I highly recommend the b side album Masterplan, with the song Masterplan being my favourite oasis song of all time
I so wish i could listen to this album for the first time again.
Blur - 13
Or if you want something less experimental, Blur - Parklife
Should try Stone Roses self titled album, they were also from Manchester, influenced by them
he’s reacted to this but it’s blocked in the uk 😔
The Roses influenced Oasis having released their debut in '89, not the other way round.
Another Brtipop album you should listen to: "Different Class" by Pulp
YES
Head on the Door by The Cure is a pop must-listen!!
ABSOLUTELY!! 💯
Definitely Maybe is just as good as this album, maybe even better
Better imo, rawer. Both incredible though.
i morning glory till she what’s my story
Check out The Verve -Urban Hymns, by the way Cast no Shadow is about Richard Ashcroft of The Verve
Glad you appreciate how great the guitar playing on the album is. It’s not a common opinion among Oasis fans, but I 100% agree with you.
Noel is not a super technical guitarist but still he is an amazing guitarrist and songwriter, the melodies he created will live forever
Hello is probably my favourite opener for an album. An absolute moody anthem that opens the album perfectly and sums oasis up so much.
A view from the afternoon from Whatever people say I am that’s what I’m not is the best for me
Champagne Supernova makes me tear up every time. Such good college memories.😢
Great reaction dude.... such a great era. SUEDE is definitely a band to check out too.
Albums reccs:
Sufjan Stevens - Michigan (chamber pop, indie folk)
The Beach Boys - The Smile Sessions (baroque pop, insanity)

You should listen to Definitely Maybe album and The Masterplan compilation album by Oasis, and their single “Whatever” and B side Cloudburst.
Guy from UK, got the top three spot on, good vibes man
Awesome reaction man, their debut album is a must too
You should react to their album Heathen Chemistry. Incredibly underrated

any time you see "mirror" and "razor blade" together that's a reference to cocaine.
My recs:
Self - Subliminal Plastic Motives
The Wrens - The Meadowlands
Bark Psychosis - Codename: Dustsucker
12 Rods - Split Personalities
As Noel himself once said: I WANT MOOOORE!
I’d like to see your opinion on 13 by blur
Yes, he definitely should do 13
YES!!
I literally just posted the same album for him to check out.
Masterpiece front to back

Noel may be an ordinary guitarist but I think every guitar solo he plays sounds very beautiful
Not technically good but god fucking damn can he write a melody better than 99% of virtuosos

SCOTT WALKER - THE DRIFT
