@@flatbrokegarage Awesome that’s good news!! Those are $60,000 once restored!! Thank you for you knowledge in cars n trucks proud of you and your work!!
I agree 200000%. That that car could be saved to the right person who has the time money in skill and knowledge. That is a rare piece 62 impala Super sport Seriously That anniversary gold, that's a beautiful color.
Bill. Thank you for showing that rare chevy I had never heard of it. So yes I think if a Jay Leno type with deep pockets could restore it but way to much for old guys like us ha ha
Yes very rare , I have one of very first ones built as is that one , mine was built in October 61 and was one that didn't have the machine swirl rear trunk panel the same as that one , they were built as a 50 year anniversary and very small number were built for the dealerships as a promotion , in November people loved the colour so Chevrolet started building more for the general market with the machine swirl trunk panel which they built more .
Now that I'm watching the video, I have seen the contact info. I was watching bits of it at work, but listening mostly . I have sent Jeff an email requesting info. Thanks Darrin
Save that rare piece of history there's a parts car on the property throw it in in with the deal and that golden Chevy could be on the road in a few years
Was that a vw fox or jetta at the 2 min mark? My first "new" car was a 93 fox. Hard to find them around. The impala however is waaaay past my pay grade.
You should have given us a better and longer look at the back end; I can’t tell if that’s a 1963 or a 1962. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see if anyone has taken it and done something with it since the filming of this video.
That 63 is rough but perfect for the right shop I'm sure. For me, the 70 Torinos abd 70-72 Thunderbirds are now too expensive, more than they were a year ago. Niw I'm looking for a 71-73 Impala sedan.
When you should the golden chevy Impala I saw a black Chevy pickup in the background from the 60's I would like to see a video of it and I would possibly be interested in it
I could pull that rear quarter out and I'm sure somebody could straighten that decklid but I'd find another one. But it's the x-frame underneath that they always Rot. Nearly impossible to find a original 62 ish frame replacement. But what you could do is patch the frame. Floorboards no big deal in the factory has most interior in it is great. I guess they didn't start making cars to about 16 years later because the 50th anniversary for Chevy trucks within nineteen sixty-eight. I made limited gold and white additions for the golden anniversary. Side note I found one is longbed had 327 originally and they cut it down to the botched job on the frame. The 327 was gone. They put in a 305. On top of that it was a CST. Truck is worth probably $12,000 maybe more before they ever started cutting on it. Here's at $3,000 and I walked away from it. That was hard to do. Anyways far as this car goes it's a verbal and you can get aftermarket friends but they cost $5,000 one last thing 327 it should have the 327 numbers with the flag. That flag is a 283. Am I love have that car to add to my collection with a 62 Impala wagon that I have. I'm really enjoying your channel. Glad that you guy over at Auto archaeology recommended you
We have been talking about pulling that car out and getting it back on its tires. It is for sale. Just to much work for me. Thanks for taking Ryan's (auto archeology) advice and checking my channel out. He's a buddy of mine and thanks for watching
@@flatbrokegarage the 62 interests me.. it's not a bubble back window like a 61 is it? I'm assuming you can get any piece of glass made if you have the measurements but for example the 61 bubble back window is just impossible to find. So that would make that car useless. I think I know where there's a four-door at. I know where there's the remains of a 64 Impala 2-door hardtop as well. But other than my 62 wagons I really don't know where there's any 62 zat and person. I could probably check with half-a-dozen people and they'd come up with some. He had a couple of vehicles I was interested in and I talked with Ryan about that. Always like how Ryan was straightforward. I mean his main interest is Mopar but he gives equal attention and sometime or changes like a friend that has all those Camaro sitting on galvanized tin. They have other cars out there too but the first generation Camaros at least a half-a-dozen of them. I like Mopar Ford Studebaker and many of the rest of the other makes. But what I am really at my heart is a Chevy guy. Anyway as far as that jeep gladiator cuz I mention another comment unless I was going to put it on a newer frame. That thing would be such a big money pit because of parts are hard to come by. Although recently I've seen three or four other trucks like that one. I'd have to think where they've been. Because they just don't stick out to me. I like the body style and they make me think our friend of mine that just disappeared off the face of the Earth a number of years ago because he had one. Well you probably know better than me but what I was going to say about that 62 with that x-frame they are pretty fragile cars when you go to move them if the frame is badly rusted. And with you not being able to open the door and setting on the ground I'm kind of thinking that's the case. But I think they have reinforced boxes length of the wheelbase. If those are rusted anyting can be fixed . But it sure gets into a lot of time and money. Told you that car interested me here I keep rattling on about it. You can straighten that back quarter up in between a couple of those trees out there. All the cars he has out there he doesn't have a donor car? Thanks for the reply
