What an exquisite building. It’s a shame that it’s sitting empty. I appreciate your effort to respect the history of the building and everyone who said their earthly goodbyes to their loved ones under that roof. I am *very* curious what was behind the door marked “do not enter” adjacent to the embalming room.
Beautiful funeral home! Love the wood! I worked at a funeral home and cemetery for 7 years. That was one very interesting job! I was a receptionist, funeral helper, greeter! I been in the back prep room with many love ones being prepared in different stages. It was a very unique job! Great video!
Love your videos! My only way to explore abandoned places, I’ve always wanted to explore an abandoned building. Guess I’ll just do it vicariously through the vids. Keep up the awesome work!
It's these type of place that I hate to see empty. So many people's last memories are here. But I'm so glad to see it hasn't been tarnished by distinctive people...
I have attended so many funerals at this once lovely funeral home. Thank-you for the video, while it was sad watching it, it did bring back a lot of memories of some very dear people.
Well I cried through out this video. This sadness and pain that people have felt in this place I'm sure was horrible. I baried both of my parents and can't even drive past a funeral home with out tearing up. It changes you. Might sound silly but it's just my experience. Again great video with respectful music to a company it. Thank you. From Ontario Canada.
Rather have talking ,about the smells and fell of the place but it looks like silent videos are taking over which is such a shame as we don't get the same experience
Watching the video, I though: it seems like a mansion. Then I found the photogallery! I l❤ve the rocaille and the sandblasted glass windows. And all of the woodworks, the candeliers. But not the cue music's crazy pianist.
It's beautiful in an eerily kind of way. Just too bad it has to be closed and abandoned. As Freaktography mentioned, It was not able to keep up with the stiff competitions from other funeral parlours. Most probably the others were offering cheaper rates. I guessed it will be a matter of time before the funeral home be demolished just like the rest of the other old buildings to make way for modernization. Whose taking care of the house now? Is it the govt. agency or any historical organisation? Although it's a historic house supposedly built by pioneers, but I think with the exorbitant costs to uphold and maintain the house, an individual owner would not be able to survive for long.

It used to be a mansion home

Abandoned but the powers on?
If you were being respectful towards the place by not being silly or talking, why use a staged photo of the embalming room as your thumbnail?
