- A tribute to The Journey - starring Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr. I absolutely love this movie, but not many people I've talked to have even heard of it, which is a real shame.
Anyway, this is just a short tribute to the lead characters in the movie. Yul and Deborah have so much chemistry onscreen together.
I agree!! This movie is really interesting. I prefer this movie to The King and I. (I love that movie too...but in "The Journey" the relationship between them is more complicated...and I really love, as you says, the way they look each other)
ahhhh i love this movie so much!
Thank you. Yes it's definitely a favorite of mine too. Theres so many great scenes and subtle moments between them.
I LOVE this movie! :)
Warner Bros. have recently released the film on DVD and I think that is why YT deleted the film.
Peccato sia finita così tragicamente, mi piaceva molto il maggiore Surov.❤❤❤
Thanks! They did? I'm sorry to hear that. I've no doubt that your efforts were much appreciated though. It's such a great movie and yet it's rarely shown on tv and hard to get on dvd.
Those two smoldered in this movie. When they finally kissed, it was almost anticlimactic because of all of the kind of sensual electricity that was around them leading up to it. I'd read that Deborah Kerr thought that Yul Brynner was one of the most sensual men she'd ever known and I think that enhanced her performance in this film. I didn't see the chemistry between her and Jason Robards even though I think that he was a very sexy man in later years with that really sexy voice.
Brynner didn't want kiss actresses, and avoid it... But he made an exception with Deborah Kerr. Who doesn't?
@@arananor How do you know that Brynner didn't want to kiss actresses and tried avoiding it? From everything I've read, including the book written by his own son, Yul was quite a rover and a ladies' man. I mean I LOVE Yul Brynner regardless (especially in The Journey) but I am curious to know where you got your information from.
I had to wait almost 2 years for it before they played it at 4am on TCM so I was up for that haha but thanks so much for this, it's concise and well thought out :)
Nice video for a great film! Too bad YT made me delete it. It brought great popularity to my channel. I wish I could upload it again, but I'm afraid I will lose my channel.

I've seen all your videos about this movie. Finally I had to rent it in order to see it! It's a great story! Although I don't think there is man who loves unselfishly like that, or no woman who doesn't respond to that kind of love. Either way it was the story of an ill-fated love because there was no future for them, and they both knew it.
Thank you for your wonderful work with the videos! Thank you for posting, and who knows, maybe in the future you'll be able to upload it again!
What a pity you weren't around when they made this film. You should have been the director of photography. Jack Cardiff eat your heart out.
