Sony recently changed the sign in process for the older consoles like PS3/Vita so you can’t log in with your usual email/password combination that you use on your PS4/PS5. Nowadays they make you scan a QR code to log in on the website to generate a unique password for each old device you’re trying to access the network with. I found this out the hard way after spending over an hour with one of their tech support people online earlier this year and while I was able to get passwords set for both my PS3 consoles, I still can’t log in on my vita. The other issue is as someone else mentioned if you’re trying to play games already downloaded by someone else on a console you bought secondhand, you’re not going to be able to play them because of not being able to access their account to set up a unique password for the console due to how they changed things.
This is why i buy physical stuff on the older consoles, having consoles to buy that have downloaded games is practically useless if you don't have that person's account info.
That's good for them. Personally I hate all resalers who don't need the money. U have ppl who snatch all the good games and don't play them. Now the scalpers next.!!!
On the real...the Super Slim PS3 is the worst model to deal with, simply because of that sliding tray. I found out that the grooves and gears that help slide the tray, become quite the sensitive issue down the line for it to read the disc when it's closed.
It’s actually the best as it doesn’t rely on an optical drive. You just slide that thing over and you can easily clean the gears OR manually force it or tape it in extreme conditions. Can’t do that with any other PS3
Did you slide it open with yout hand or use the button cuz I swear bro I'm not trying make you look dumb or anything but the number of people I've heard complain about the super slim sliding door breaking and each one who complains uses their hand to open it which improperly forces the mechanisms that allow it to function don't worry tho if you didn't know it ain't your fault cuz Sony made the single most easy to miss button ever created lol
@Roninuchiha I looked at the UA-cam short on where the button is and was like, "Sonofabiscuit! smfh 😆". Unless there's a separate button to close it, it still looks like you gotta deal with closing it by hand. That's why I rather avoid that type altogether, unless it's REAL cheap.
I swapped my Wii U pad for the Zelda one a while back for a few bucks and I wish I didn’t. It’s so clean but I don’t wanna mess up the art. 😂 We still out here doing just fine, but I do see people falling off. When you rely only on flipping games you’re gonna have a hard time. 👀
Resellers are everywhere. Even people like you who don’t normally resell find good deals and then resell. Resellers aren’t going away anytime soon imo.
Personally let them quit. I prefer finding games and good deals myself I like the trill of it plus it makes the retro game market more accessible for those who want to start or grow more of their collection since the prices will go down. I would like to experience 2000's second hand game prices. Its sucks when you knew all the good stuffs has already been overtaken by resellers.
super slims are fine, my dad and one of my friends has one and it does the job. Also soft modded both and for ps3 and some ps1 and 2 games it works fine... most people complain that it feels cheap (it was cheap so duh) but realistically it's kinda neat how they made it this small, and another complain is that ppl say the disk cover breaks easly but ppl are stupid and just do not know there is a a button that is supposed to be pressed to pop it open, most ppl pull the disk cover by hand so of course it will break. I think it's fine and the hate for it is unjustified, tho personally i prefer the normal slim over the super slim, if i can find a nice color variant i might one of those too in the future
I'm planning to get the PS3 slim as well soon, I just started getting a few PS3 games to start my collection since a lot of them are still affordable. The super slim model looks very cheap but the sliding door makes it more convenient to get the disc in and out so you have to worry about it getting stuck
This isn't a problem if you have physical discs and have your ps3 offline and play offline only games. Ironic how people want an all digital future. It'll happen but it'll ruin everything. Ps6 will be digital only I bet.
Those digital games are tied to whoever account that previously owned that PS3. You won't be able to use them if you don't have the same games tied to yours. The same would happen with an Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One etc.
I mean yeah. The economy is crapping itself. Most the actual good games people want are either easy to emulate on modded consoles or are cheap and common enough to where its easier to just wait to find it yourself instead of paying a resller premium.
It won’t impact, if the resellers go down so will The value of the games. If there is no demand then the prices go down. Look at what happened to funko pops. The company over saturated the market which caused demand to go down. With retro games , people need to spend money on what matters especially with inflation and how we are In difficult times economically. People are spending now , but once people can spend then lookout
I think resellers sell online because a lot of eyes get to see the product! I Exclusively buy a lot of my used games online for a better deal! Example WM has Resident Evil 2 new for 19.99 my local Mom & Pop store sell it from 24.99-17.99 or I can buy it for 9.99 pay the shipping taxes and fees and get it for like 15-16 dollars in 3 days! So I rather haggle with resellers and pay the shipping! This is just my opinion I purchased some Japanese imports from reseller got a bundle deal I can’t wait to get home to play! Again another great video Y2
Cool that you actually clean stuff up before you resale! Most people wouldn’t & I think it hurts the sale! Also, I’d keep the PS3! I have both Fat & Slim models!
I have a 500gb super slim and a phat ps3 that plays most ps2 games. The super slim is kinda ugly and cheaply made but if you take care of it and keep it clean it runs well. I haven’t had any issues
They want to check if you are the one who bought the games because if you didn't they don't want you being able to play games you didn't buy. Basically sony wants a cut on the used market by making your digital games not re-sellable. That's why I'm not buying anything gaming related anymore and only playing on hacked consoles. Game companies have become too greedy and try to squeeze every last penny of you making your library useless after some years
the ps3 controller you have is NOT a good one, why? Check the 300mA battery and the 500mA versions... you have less capacity with the one you bought. :s
so if you bought the ps3 with some games on it, it might ask to verify the purchase, since if you bought them on your vita with your own account it will not ask cuz it's already an account associated with your console. And probably the previous owner of the ps3 disconnected his account before selling it and the games remained installed. honestly IDK, but let me know if I misunderstood. Also 8 views when i got here, was never this early XD
ps3 super slim is the best for ps3 games but if you want to play disk ps2 game fat ps3 is the only 1 you can play them on. In the best world you would have a ps3 super slim and a ps2 because even that fat ps3 can not play 100% of ps2 games.
I mostly hate resellers that snatch everything common and try reselling it for like $5-$10 extra on Facebook Marketplace without even cleaning the game of the stickers of where they bought it from. Ive recently been trying to build my PS3/PS4 collection and a bunch of the game had value village or goodwill stickers. They act as if they are providing me a service when they aren't even willing to remove a sticker and give it a wipe down. I go on the hunt for games every week but it's always picked to shit by the resellers. I really wish resellers would just disappear.

I totally agree
Selling to another reseller is a huge issue.
On the real...the Super Slim PS3 is the worst model to deal with, simply because of that sliding tray. I found out that the grooves and gears that help slide the tray, become quite the sensitive issue down the line for it to read the disc when it's closed.
I've had my super slim since brand new in 2012, I've never had an issue
It’s actually the best as it doesn’t rely on an optical drive. You just slide that thing over and you can easily clean the gears OR manually force it or tape it in extreme conditions. Can’t do that with any other PS3

I usually have to wait for a massive markdown to make a flip or buy a game that is decently priced, my thrift stores suck ass
Resellers are everywhere. Even people like you who don’t normally resell find good deals and then resell. Resellers aren’t going away anytime soon imo.
Reselling is a part of the collecting hobby, as long as people collect they will resell.
But do you think there will be a handful of retro video game resellers will quit soon?
Personally let them quit. I prefer finding games and good deals myself I like the trill of it plus it makes the retro game market more accessible for those who want to start or grow more of their collection since the prices will go down. exactly!

If theres profit in it the majority wont quit just the greedy buggers that want ridiculous margins

gotta make a website g, your supporters will support.

Came here to say this lol. This is right.
I’d guess it will be harder to find clean copies of rarer titles if resellers bow out. Prices may come down but games may be in worse condition.
I mean yeah.
The economy is crapping itself.
Most the actual good games people want are either easy to emulate on modded consoles or are cheap and common enough to where its easier to just wait to find it yourself instead of paying a resller premium.
Best way to get out stuff from the crevice of the controller (short of opening it) Toothpick.
Really want one of those Zelda Wii U game pads but already have my original so nah
Solid pickup though!
It won’t impact, if the resellers go down so will

Resellers suck. They ruined the western market on used games. Im glad most of them are going red.
That controller looks in mint condition now
Games are locked onto an account.......that why you can't access the games.....

I am really interested in that Zelda Wii u

Resellers and scalpers ruined the experiences for many, good riddance.
