    I liked when you took a breath. I can tell you’re growing as a person and business owner Caleb. 😊 Also, really enjoyed your last video on your main page, could really tell you were having a good time. 🙂 Breath is super important. Deliberate deep breaths. When we are stressed we tend to take short, shallow breaths. 🙏

    I'm going to make a really weird comment here. I have watched Caleb and his interactions with people throughout his short career. So often, Caleb is made jokes of by his friends in the industry; such as PixelP, Retro Rick, etc. And YES, I know, they're good friends and they like to poke fun out of love. I get all that. What I find interesting though, is that Caleb is a RARE form of being a business man at heart, and having a deep, deep level of understanding what it takes at such a young age and low amount of experience. His traits scream for long term success. And as much as it's easy to say "Well dude it aint that serious, they just love jabbing at him", I actually think deep down it comes from a place of jealousy. Not jealousy of money per se, but jealous of what he is becoming in a niche little world of people who often barely make ends meet. Gamers aren't notorious for being wildly successful, despite the many exceptions that exist. Caleb is a diamond in a rough full of people more driven by nostalgia and child-like energy, who is becoming a professional before our eyes, that will one day probably be able to own 100 Pokemon Boxes as a coffee table in his dining room. And I think his friends sense that. I commend Caleb greatly ultimately. I resect him at a high level for what he has accomplished. But I do think the dynamics of what is going on around him in these videos is interesting as well.

    Caleb it was nice to meet you, even if it was briefly, at Really Rad Weekend. I am appreciative of this channel and the information/mentoring you're providing. I am not necessarily a "reseller" in the way that you and others are, but I have a lot in my collection that I downsizing. I guess I'm Resell Adjacent? Maybe? I know your area of expertise is in the Amazon space, but I'm curious what you do for margins or markup? For example I had my first vending experience on small business Saturday and I brought out a few NES, PSP, PS1, etc. games to sell. I've gotten my enjoyment and moneys worth out of those games and wanted to be fair on the pricing. Looking at Price Charting I can see the highs and lows, but they don't factor in condition, and I would typically go towards a lower middle on the price. Is that a fair place to start? Or and I doing myself a disservice? Just so you know this is all hobby and I am not reliant on the dollars coming in to support me or my family, but I would like to get a decent price on things.
    Sorry for this being a massive multi-question comment. I really enjoy your content and information. Hope you're having a wonderful Holiday Season.

    • @renixpesale
      @renixpesale  8 місяців тому +2

      I love selling stuff fast, so if it’s pristine I usually start at PriceCharting value, if it’s iffy I’ll do like 10% under. But if you do closer to right at market value you can leave yourself more room to negotiate, so either way!

    I’ve been reselling for 5 years as well, and here are a few things I’ve learned:
    1. Start slow to allow yourself to learn the business and market. You don’t want to be stuck with a bunch of garbage that takes up space.
    2. Figure out your inventory system from day 1.
    3. Reselling is incredibly cash-intensive. Be prepared for that and manage your bankroll accordingly
    4. Don’t rely on one platform too much.
    5. Spend money on decent bags, boxes, mailers, labels and label printer if you can’t get some of them for free at whoever you use for shipping.
    6. Focus on sell-through rate. Don’t get attached to items and prices. Set expected profit margins and stick to them as best you can, but know when it’s time to cut your loss or break even and reinvest your money

    Resellers are quitting. Good. Awesome. PCs are getting better. People are rom-ing. Next hobby you infiltrate to resell? Actually work with the hobbyists, because they aren't stupid. That's why resell generally can't last. Hobbyists will just go without rather than pay shitty prices from someone who doesn't care about the hobby. This ESPECIALLY applies to games. Especially as emulation improves. So yeah man. Everything don't gotta sell for crazy.
    P.S.: And if you knew what I know. One of them games that fell in the bucket is worth something to actual gamers. The rest is shovelware though. I won't tell you though. Maybe whip out a gamecube and find out for once in your life.
