- I finally bought a new place, but this one has nothing to do with cars. It's a couple buildings on the lake that we're going to turn into paradise. The abandoned mini resort.

NOT right, if you had been watching from the very beginning, you would realize the deal between JR and Eric. Eric is keeping up his end of the bargain and so is JR.

Having Eric as a friend would have to be one of the greatest blessings anyone could have. He is a dynamo. His reserved demeanor and encyclopedic list of skills and abilities would make him the perfect resource for any project. Plus under all that I would bet there is a keen wit so that things never get boring. This is going to be a cool project.
And don't forget his very funny and entertaining dry humor. Great addition to the channel.
It's insane the amount of trash you've gotten rid of at this property since day 1, multiple roll-off dumpsters and now another 6 (or more) truckloads to the dump!
You should have tried to donate that structure and its contents to the Smithsonian. It could have been the centerpiece of its Early 21st Century Mid-American Subsistence Tweekerdom wing.
Untreated 2x4's on that "fence" is certainly a choice

I added some trim, decoration, and weather-stripping battens from 2x4 stock to antique pine barn doors , AND stained it with a good Behr outdoor product, 6 years later all the new trim is rotted, old wood on the barn door is fine. Outdoor must have treated wood these days as modern wood is junk.
You always make me chuckle when you say "last thing we have to do" and then proceed to list off 5 more things.
A bunk house for kids would add value to the property. Would make the whole thing feel like a camping experience.
I wonder if the old hillbilly's that owned the mini resort prior ever drive by? They would have to be genuinely impressed with the transformation.

To me that shack says New Orleans Voodoo Lounge more than Tiki bar.
You might want to make your "window" just another rustic corrugated metal panel to stick with a rustic theme instead of going for the polished wood Tiki theme.
That seems cheaper and easier to me...

Insane how much junk was just left to sit there. Wish you showed more of what was under the front deck and dismantling the inside of the shed. You should also leave the shed as a shed. Way more useful to store lake and house maintenance stuff. Then make the outside under the overhang into a covered seating area with a porch swing and bistro patio table. Easier and more useful for a small rental like that.
A slick way to do the front of the shed would be to have the front wall section fold out and down to become the bar top.
Hey JR - just a heads up on the M12 stuff. The larger amp hour batteries do add power to the tools. On the M12 die grinders - they get stuck very easily with the small batteries, but if I use a 4 or 6AH battery it works much better. It's possible that may help your hack-zall. I haven't tried the newer HO 2.5 yet to see how that fares.

I'd raise that tiki bar overhang creating a gap above the "shed" for air circulation, then add a couple of low profile outdoor ceiling fans because it'll get hot in the summer.
I noticed a comment from someone who said thank God for Eric all I've got to say JR is yeah I see him doing ALL THE WORK AND YOU STANDING AROUND DOING ALL THE TALKING LOL.😂

@watchjrgo The metal cowl you found strongly resembles my 1990 Chevrolet S10 cowl. Difficult to say for sure (and may not be) with all the debris on top when you pointed it out. First gen S10 is my guess.

Yup, having it deleted, cleaned out, with that nice tree seemed like a choice. Why put that fence up? Also, can you imagine how nice things could have been if you ordered a small dumpster and it was sitting their nice and ready to go when you pulled up. Six dump runs in one weekend?

Storage is a precious thing but that's kinda rediculous. I wouldn't want to keep anything that couldn't get wet in it. I'd almost reframe it nicely and renters can store their extra stuff in it. You're almost there

They were very poor folks , that is why everything is so messed up.
Should have used Trex for the porch. It’s maintenance free.
The back deck is composite. We didn’t want to spend another thousand on the front deck. 🍻

Man, I can see a lot of painful hip checks on that counter when going through the doorway. I think that's a design choice you're going to want to change.
