Next you need to built a spy camera in the periscope and have it go up and down and turn 220° that in itself would make this the worlds best build forever.
The Torpedo Hall of Fame is located at the Naval War College Museum. Beautiful brass examples. Well worth visiting in Newport, R.I.. My uncle was President of the Naval War College and a submarine captain USS ODAX SS 484.
I know a guy in Colombia that would be interested in a few of these... J/K, don't report me. Your model reminds me of 50's sub movies, I can imagine sailors walking the decks.
LOVE ur work Bob, RCer here, mainly planes, but so wish I had the time and talent to pursue subs. Do you ever consider building an optimized acrylic or glass tank for running/diving/competing/combat?
I think a swimming pool would do most of what you're asking. If we had the population and demand, of course an investment of a million dollars in a bespoke underwater environment would be awesome.
@@RCSubGuy LOL, you think would be a million bucks?:) Just thinking how much more enjoyable it would be to maneuver through glass below water line, even if width of tank was a little more than sub length, with a lot of depth and changeable rock features to navigate through. I guess same could be achieved with SUBMERGED high definition camera? Just a thought, ty for reply, again LOVE and admire your work and talent and channel!
You said you were going to run it in the lake tomorrow. Could you tell me when and where. I would like to try to go watch. I live several hours away by Ft. Hood.
Please do not leave the key in the lathe chuck, that is dangerous. Very nicely executed sub though. The attention to detail and function is quite impressive.
It's all about skill, dead reckoning and sub operating experience. Subs are about stealth, not showing off, and the hobby, fortunately, reflects that. If you don't get that, you don't get it. Not the right hobby for you.
The main thrusters do not work because she has to stay surfaced and run on the diesel engines for awhile. Once the batteries are charged, she can submerge to crush depth and return unscathed. If depth charges are dropped, release garbage, oil, air, and maybe a dead submariner or two. All that will float to the surface. The aggressors will be fooled and leave
Lt. Comd. Dodge : All right, everybody, it's time to kick this pig! Leave Graham squealing from the feeling! Planesman 1st Class Jefferson 'R.J.' Jackson : Squeaking from the freaking. Seaman Buckman : Oinking from the boinking.
OMG. A gigant just kicked the poor sub!. And no offence, but I think the russians can hear that sub, 2000 miles away. They need catarpillar drive, or insulation.....lots of insulation.
Love these armchair skippers... This was a testing video (you do read the title, right?). Full video of her in operation will come today or tomorrow. Building an RC submarine is a series of progressive steps. You don't just build an $8000 submarine and throw it in the water, hoping for the best (oh, wait... sounds like you do)
In the modern day of everything modern do you have a camera or anything to tell you your about to hit rock bottom or a clump of weed??..i know Go-Pro camera is a thing but do you have it built into the sub so you can safely navigate the lakes or is it still in Gods hands that you dont tangle up on anything???..that is an awsome build!!!..great vid just came across out of the blue not one for submerged vehicles but a remote control version anything ill give a once over!!!..NICE
Unless you're running in a crystal clear, spring-fed pool or a swimming pool, a camera is next to useless. Wireless cameras transmit on high frequency, which does not penetrate water, so you'd have to be at periscope depth to use it. Real RC sub skippers typically use experience and dead reckoning to operate submerged.
Um, you do understand we were just testing trim, right? We are not in the habit of throwing a massive, expensive boat into deep water during the testing phases of a build.
@@thecommentary21 Nope, we run our boats, and run them hard. Builds take place with a well-established construction, testing and operation procedure. Sorry to disappoint you with this simple test video. I'll have an operational video with this boat in deep water in a day or so.
@@RCSubGuy You had it in a little pond. Hardley very deep and would not have hurt it any more than if your shallow water test had gone wrong. After all your testing is done, send it deep and throw some depth charges at it. See how it holds up. Its not a real U Boat unless it survives depth charges.
Um, ok… why don’t you drop the same amount of money, time, and such for essentially scratch building a functional RC submarine, upload some content and we all will just comments about how we don’t like what you do, this guys got 600+ on the RC submarine hobby, you really aren’t in a position to complain.
Didn't know rc submarines even existed. Thats amazing
The finest submarine model I have ever seen. Well done sir.
That is amazing. Your attention to detail and execution of this build is over the top! Congratulations.
Magnificent! "Run Silent, Run Deep"!
Very nice Bob! You got the smoke going and I love the stern thruster. Turns that huge boat with ease!
Very impressive! Well done!
Excellent craftsmanship Sir! My Dad served on the Balao class sub USS Hardhead 365. Nice video too, thanks.
Wow I have no experience with U-boat but dude that's beautiful.....

Amazing sub model work...even love the foot send off at 3:26
VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!
Beautiful model! I always loved the Balao and Gato class subs-thought they and the Iowa class battleships were the sexiest ships afloat!
The Torpedo Hall of Fame is located at the Naval War College Museum. Beautiful brass examples. Well worth visiting in Newport, R.I.. My uncle was President of the Naval War College and a submarine captain USS ODAX SS 484.
Love the smoke stain detail around the exhaust. Did some great work....Love the UT stone step in the pool too! Go longhorns!
My grandfather was on the U.S.S. Bugara which was the Balao class.
IMPRESSIVE!
Did you make a tiny Enigma machine?
Just reminded me of the baking powder toy submarine I had back in the 70s.
My favorite was the Nautilus and Seaview.
Great detail. Good job
Nice work !!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 looks amazing 🎉🎉
So freaking cool!
This looks alot like the use batfish that on display in Muskogee Oklahoma!
Nice job y'all!
Wow that model is fantastic ,all credit to you sir!👍🇦🇺🇬🇧😎
That's a beautiful sub.
Wahou ! I like détails like the radar who turn on the top. Nice job
I'll have a full overview of every system in this boat in a video coming up in the coming week or two.
Very impressive!
cyclops from subnautica would be sick submarine for your next project futuristic looking lots of lights
It looks so massive in the pool!👍👍♥️
EXCELLENT job. Congratulations. Greetings from Mexico City.
Sub is awesome. Back yard is even better!
Amazing!!!
Awesome!!!
I’m amazed. Nice job 👍
The USS Stingray SS161
A small speaker broadcasting a sonar ping in the nose would have sounded amazing through the camera. Amazing model!
Already in place and working.
Right on!
Nice pool
That's awesome. Did you put a little Kelsey Grammer model on the conning tower?
AWESOME
Cool!
Very cool RC Good job
Very amazing can’t wait till we see some footage from a big athletic swimming Pool going deep.
Amazing! Congrats guys!
I know a guy in Colombia that would be interested in a few of these...
J/K, don't report me. Your model reminds me of 50's sub movies, I can imagine sailors walking the decks.
To bad my great uncle, wasn’t there to give you some advice. He was the helmsmen of the USS Balao in the second world war.
That thing is amazing
You gona be needin you a bigger cement pond for das beast 💪
Fantastic
Very cool! I wish it was the Ling 297. Unfortunately the real Ling isn’t doing so well.
Nice
Freaking awesome 👍 now you need a bigger pool !
Impressive
nice
Can you do a video on the ultrasonic smoke system? That would be great to learn about it and add it into the 1/16th RC tank community. Thanks!
Done already, sir. ua-cam.com/video/0Yvfv5Aqvy0/v-deo.html
Stunning beauty! 😍🥰
Nice build, is it a U-Boat?
so cool
At the end, the baddies from stingray?
I want to see a deep dive
Nice!
HOLY,SHNIKEY‼️😍😍
Can it fire torps?
This could easily be used in a movie and we wouldn't know the difference.
You really needed an olympic sized pool to turn this beast!

You said you were going to run it in the lake tomorrow. Could you tell me when and where. I would like to try to go watch. I live several hours away by Ft. Hood.
Sorry I missed you. We were at Sylvan Rodriguez Park yesterday.
i wonder if the shots would blur if the camera was in a air tight case? because this looks like a lens distortion effect due to the water
The camera I was using was waterproof, but not designed for underwater. I have a new camera on there now that takes superb underwater footage.
Can You Build a Soviet Typhoon class sub or the Typhoon from the movie Hunt For Red October?
Yes, have in the past and another build of one coming up in a few months for another customer. Check my channel for Typhoon.
Impressive! I didn't know people built such RC things. Whats next? Torpedoes?
Torpedoes have been done many times, and I have videos showing my own experiments with them. We'll be releasing a 1/48 scale torpedo kit soon.
I guess it would have been cooler if it wasn't on the step but rather the middle of the wading pool.
👍 AWESOME !!!🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺😁😁😁

id like to see submarine meets 12 foot gator LOL!. PEACE.
Is that a 32P build?
Yessir, circa 1990's originally. This is a refit.

What scale is this boat and how can I acquire the kit?
1/32 scale, and you can get a time machine and go back 20 years to when the company was in business. :P
It must have a hole in it....its sinking😮
32nd parallel ?
Yes it is
down periscope

Is this for sale I. Ready to buy it let me know please
No sorry. Belongs to a customer.
LOL.. I bet everything is for sale for the right price. Put your budget squarely in the five digit range and I'd imagine he'd consider it.
subnautica cyclops would be so.sick futuristic lots of lights right up your ally man
She is beautiful.
I didn't hear any pings.
It's got da pings, sir. We were testing trim, not the sound system in this video.

I ask this question ❓ before and know response.this submarine uses limited technology and work just as good maybe there's a idea here
Balao class? But that's a diesel!!
Erm... yes. Balao, like all of her counterparts of the era, was a diesel electric submarine. You were expecting nuclear?
Ok, now for the fun part. Put some explosives all over it and blow it to kingdom come. Now that would be fun!
So what, let’s see it go somewhere.
