His stories from when he and Shanann were dating were dating show red flags. The story about being underdressed for the theatre and her joking that she hoped he wasn't her date shows a narcissistic injury. Even if this had been an appropriate time and place to tell the story, the story would progress beyond that. For examples, "We still had a great time, we saw this movie, the formal theater was nice..." He just stays on that one detail of how he didn't project the right image. He wants her to think he's not cunning or image conscious and that his wife was. Bragging on himself for staying with her for her colonoscopy and the story about the concert are red flags too. If they were married, it would be a given that he would be there for a medical appointment. If you just started dating, your partner might not want you there when they aren't feeling well or are in a compromised position. He volunteered to be there and acted like he was a martyr when she was the one who was going through something. Why was he talking about running through the hot parking lot at the concert because he forgot his own ticket as though it was a sacrifice for her? It was his ticket. He should be going to get it. Letting her lean on him on the way back while she was sick with lupus doesn't make him an amazing human being either. He was looking for vulnerabilities he could exploit even then. The bit about him not telling her he was uncomfortable or to get off of him makes me think maybe he got angry when she said something like that to him.
The "banality of evil" comes to mind. Like a 2 year old, he wanted something, something was in the way, he made it happen. He felt bad. Girlfriend made him feel good. He went there. That's as much dimension and depth he has. He seems like a "non person" and I wonder how much of that can be attributed to being the golden child of a narcissistic mother. He can have anything he wants, he's never wrong, but to a narc mother he doesn't really "exist" except as an extension of her, even through all the lavish praise and "love". Narcs don't see you as children or an individual at all, and because you get a sense of who you are by validation from the earliest caregivers, if you don't have that, you're just a vessel with urges, reflections of what other people say, there's no real centre. Tragic really. Btw Im not excusing him.
The only thing I will say is there are different dimensions in npd, with some expressing some aspects more than others and some are what I call positive narcissists who do care and have high standards of integrity and responsibility in themselves, and they won't hurt a child intentionally, etc. They still struggle with some of the aspects of their nature, but they aren't malignant. The mother cannot see her mistakes or why she raised what she did. He is a sociopathic narc. I was married to a covert sadist. He was a little smarter than this guy. His father is low key narcissistic, manipulative, and sadistic, even a little with children, to control them, and creating sort of a trauma bond or emotional desire for his attention and good will, they look up to him and I believe he used this to control his children, choosing to shine on them or leave them in the cold shadow of each other as a method of punishment which my ex received a lot, coupled with the fact he was not good at sports like his sibling and his dad made amused jokes about this he didn't realize caused so much pain, even though he likes children and is a responsible person except where he can't see or control himself, but his mother was hostile and frustrated with their son when he was born because she was angry at the father who was away at sea, with some good reason, and so resented her child at the time. He responded by being difficult from the start, responding to her stress, and was used as a scapegoat, and his father's naive amusement and mockery of him as a child and by turns, angry frustration, grew his shame and the internally developing, covert, getting even, extremely sadistic sociopath who tried to kill me and our children, while making it look like an accident. Their other children were not raised the same and are different. They have no idea what their son and sibling is truly like even though they grew up with his shenanigans, but having lived far apart for some time he learned to wear the mask and his mother convinced them he had changed. It took me years of frustration and confusion to realize and as he realized my recognition and determination for better corcumstances he clamped down and became more sadistic, punishing, deadly, and destructive. He in fact, was leading a multilayered, dark, double life all along. On the surface though, it looks dull.
Thank you for explaining some things he said that felt ‘off’ to me, but I couldn’t figure out why. His level of immaturity is disgusting - he’s like a four-year old who wants to be praised for everything he does independently or for others.

Martin the most narcissistic moments none of us will see. It's horrifying to think what was experienced by his poor loving family who trusted him in their last hour of life . My condolences to SHANANN and the girls family and to Nicki A.
I used to live about 25 miles away from the Watts. And still being a Colorado resident, I'm so glad that my taxes aren't going toward housing this monster anymore.
Incredible that someone who has so much hate in their heart and no empathy or remorse can sit there and be such a coward. Nothing but a coward to kill his own little girls and pregnant wife. Listen, he strangled his pregnant wife and threw his daughters in oil batteries. Buried his wife with her face and stomach facing down on the dirt with her baby coming out of her. More than likely had to stuff the little girls shoulders into those 8inch wide holes at the top of those barrels. Heard his daughters body hit the oil when they fell. He then acted like nothing at all happened. No way a normal human being could do any of that without having a physical reaction at minimum. That man is a monster. He is where he belongs. I hope to God if NK had anything to do with it that she gets her karma because she is the same. A monster.

I was married to a covert narcissist and he was so much like CW. He too, played the savior role, being there for me just like CW, early in the relationship with drs appts and health issues. Fast forward into the deval stage, and my ex couldn’t have been less interested or compassionate during more medical issues, like surgery. He was all about himself, non caring, absent in every way during those days. It was confusing, heartbreaking, demeaning, and red flag raising, yet I stayed. They are evil and they hide it well. They leave you questioning everything, from who they are, to who you are. I was fortunate to get out when I did, as things were headed towards physical violence and I have no doubt he was capable of CW’s answer to ending the relationship. He was cheating and everything was coming out….he knew his mask was falling quick!!
He sounds so different on the phone from the interrogation. His voice sounds more forceful and confident whereas in the interrogation he sounds less confident and soft spoken.Probably situational but it's so bizarre to me.
@@seenohearno9135 I think Chris is a chameleon. He can adapt to any environment or personality that he thinks is needed in that moment. Very scary guy.
Please post a video about the ridiculous overuse of "like" in today's younger people. Watts is a chronic "like" user; it's almost every 3rd word. What is it about using "like" that is now so ubiquitous, especially with people under 50?
When it comes to criminal behavior there isn't a better channel on UA-cam. I doubt he refers to himself as the good guy or the hero simply to impress the detectives, I think he does it to remind himself that he isn't a monster. Only a monster could do these terrible things! It reminds me of Anthony Perkins at the end of Psycho when he thinks to himself "I wouldn't hurt a fly"
This analysis is intriguing and yes the patterns of behaviour are stand outs. Are you also interested in the testimony Anthony Todt gave on the stand as a defence witness in his own trial? I would appreciate your analysis of his odd and disturbing behaviour on the stand.
I didn't know Shan'ann, and surely she had a kind of influence on her husband and friends, but it was a positive influence, she acted very social, her friends appreciated her friendship and leadership at work. So Chris could be glad to learn much from her like sympathy for people, and his own family. Even his parents admitted, he acted "socially akward". So to plan how to get rid of the best part of his life, impressively shows who he really is - a man, with deeply rooted psychopathic traits. It's just tragic, that so many giving humans - and innocent children - have to suffer for these predators. Very fascinating analysis of his choice of terms. Thank you!
What gets me, is how did Chris go 30 plus years of his life with everyone thinking he was a good person. I haven't heard of any red flags before the event. How come his mask never slipped before. Not even a little? I have my own theories but his personality is a mystery how he went from seemingly nice guy to murderer overnight.
WoW…. Fantastic insight, I followed this case from day 1, I always thought CW was a complete idiot but listening to this I réalise he’s not as stupid as he comes off as being, I see now that he is narcissistic which is something I never realized from following the case. I had the impression he was very stupid and lizard like in his complete lack of emotion but this gave me an excellent insight into the workings of his sick mind. Please do follow up videos!
All those who murder are psychpaths, and hence also narcissists (according to the definitions). Your impression "he was very stupid and lizard like in his complete lack of emotion" is correct, individuals who chooses evil before good due to lack of empathy (and in accordance with their sadistic nature) are stupid no matter what other skills they might have.
Narcs are that way. They are like children. No immer reflection. Children can BE cruel and selfish. There is a reason why children cannot witness at court Emotion crreate their truth.

Predators can come in all different forms it could be a teenage boy, a teenage girl, a man and a woman so that is why as human beings we all have to be extremely careful of who we meet in this world. We should always be cautious not paranoid but be cautious of anyone that we adopt, befriend, date, live with, marry and have children with for the rest of our lives because you never know who these people really are. I do not care if they are attractive, if they are charming, if they are entertaining, if they are fun, if they are kind, if they are successful, if they are talented, if they are wealthy and no matter how normal they may seem you obviously have to be very careful. Also it is a matter of time before they show their true character of what these sinister people are really hiding. Never ever underestimate anyone whether they are young or old. That is why as a responsible young man myself born in 1998, I use my common sense not to trust anybody that I do not know or else you would regret it for the rest of your life. In my world it is better to feel safe than sorry period. To all my fellow human brothers and sisters around the world be cautious and stay safe.

He never once says how he felt so bad for her when she had lupus flare ups, its just "yeah I let her lay on my lap and didn't tell her to move off me" it's all about him and how nice he is. His motivation is to prove he is nice and sacrificial, not that he has any kind of real empathy.
He stated that he had found God in prison and that he should be released to do His work he was in denial big time. the agents have to act and entertain him by laughing
Having watched the full interrogation of Chis “Like” Watts I have to say they are two of the best detectives I’ve seen interrogate. They work brilliantly together and you can almost feel Watts crumbling under pressure. The only criticism of the case I’d have is that his lover Nicole was not charged as an accessory to the murders. I’d certainly recommend watching this whole interrogation followed by the interrogation of Rocky Rambo Wei Nam Kam, and comparing how terrible the detective interrogating him in that case is.
@@MC-ze8wj I have watched the whole thing before but had a quick skip through to refresh the memory… Williams was probably a more intelligent guy than Watts. So it’s definitely a good shout. However, if you can find one anywhere near as bad as the Rocky Rambo one I will definitely be impressed 🤣
Chris was truly perplexed by the detectives' "mood swings". They went from sounding like concerned friends to judge and jury. Chris was completely unable to identify this as a strategy.
Hey Chris...I'm going to make big juicy hamburgers today....why don't you get in that clown car of yours & drop by. I'm sure the kids are just dying to see you!
Is there anything in the way he speaks that would go along with his not wanting a trial? Having to hear what he doesn’t want to know about himself? I mean arias is even more gone than he is and she wanted a trial. She liked being on stage, he doesn’t I guess.
Hello! My guess is that’s maybe a visible difference between an overt narcissist (Arias, Cindy Watts) and a covert one (Chris Watts). The covert is invested in maintaining an outer personality for acceptance, and I think Chris had to do that in his mom’s household. It’s why everyone remembers him as patient and helpful without being warm, and why he tells strange stories like missing the kids throwing chicken nuggets at him to show us all how much he tolerates. Remember the end of Psycho, with Bates dressed as mom, knowing he’s being watched and telling himself they’ll be impressed if he doesn’t hurt the fly that lands on him? That’s his life.
I was floored by comments by people condemning Shanann and excusing this monster! It was then I knew to disengage, knowing the evil of supposedly ‘normal’ people feeling sorry for Chris blew my mind🤯
Because it IS! Chris Watts didn't think so though, and that's what that mattered! He thought they were on his side because of the fake laughing. So because of that, he began his word salad monolog about himself like he thought he was Shakespeare! He's only ticked off because he realized he fell for a simple tactic (or maybe a fellow inmate informed him of it if Chris boasted about his talk with investigators.... and learned what a sucker he actually was)
Yes,God put you there for a reason. He put you there because you wiped out your entire family .You are being punished.Take your punishment like a man and own up to what you did
So what is Chris new story on what happened if he is innocent? Did i miss something? How's did innocent ol' Chris lead detectives to the bodies and know how each of them died? TF is wrong with this man
There’s a comparison video in the works.

What was it like to be around this guy day in and day out? His personality is exhausting.
What makes me the sickest is that at the time of this taping he had killed his family within a 24 hour period. Unbelievable
Well described.
It doesn't get better anytime I hear this monster. Those poor little girls and his poor wife.
Thank you for explaining some things he said that felt ‘off’ to me, but I couldn’t figure out why. His level of immaturity is disgusting - he’s like a four-year old who wants to be praised for everything he does independently or for others.
I agree with you about his immaturity!! Not sure why mine and others find it ‘gross’ but it is just creepy to hear this murderous adult talk like a not-so-smart grade schooler. His overuse of “like” makes me want to scream!! Tammy is a saint; being so patient whilst he says the dumbest shit(which is about everything he says).
PS: thank-you Martin for your consistently excellent content!🌞
You are bang on.
I often confuse Narcissism with immaturity.
On the outside, the two seem interchangeable.
Are they?
@@lesliekupchanko5001 All narcissists have the characteristic of immaturity, yes. They got stuck in childhood emotionally and there they remain.
@@georgiat.9890 The “like’s” drove me nuts, too. A 33-year old talking like he does.

Thanks for clarifying.
Martin the most narcissistic moments none of us will see. It's horrifying to think what was experienced by his poor loving family who trusted him in their last hour of life . For SHANANN suffered the whole end of her visit in the Carolinas and wanted to believe his wanting to mend things cost her life and her girls life. This is such a horrible case. My condolences to SHANANN and the girls family and to Nicki A.
I used to live about 25 miles away from the Watts. And still being a Colorado resident, I'm so glad that my taxes aren't going toward housing this monster anymore.
Love your channel, Martin! You are very interesting to listen to.
Thanks for writing 👍
A monster.
Your videos never cease to grip me! Huge kudos and thanks, as always!!
His eyes have something really bad behind them. Rage, nastiness, evilness, and the way he holds his head adds to it all. A horrible and dark person.
You are always so even, but I think I saw a smile right before an edit. That room you are in is beautiful.
Thanks again for your experience and insight.
Yes, it’s great office space.
Thanks for tuning in.
He still thinks so highly of himself. Crazy.
Ugh yep but two yrs. in. He begging to get out 😒😜💕💕🙋♀️bless the gurls
I swore off of this case- it’s so haunting- but, I had to hear your take on this. And now I wish him to suffer even more. I truly wish he’d never been born- the ultimate hate
Martin is so engrossing that i forget to press like button.
I love your videos, Martin!!!
I’m glad to hear it.
I found this today!!! How did I miss this? I have missed your content💕
Thank you. I greatly appreciate your superb analysis.
C.W. is a monster.
I think we go into a form of shock which slows down our escape.
Is he even aware of *why* he's in prison? God does not condone murder. Why would God work to get a murderer out of prison???
So if he thinks he isn't accountable how did he know where the bodies were?
Bella loved him so much ...listening to him it is like he is in denial they are dead.
He sounds so different on the phone from the interrogation. His voice sounds more forceful and confident whereas in the interrogation he sounds less confident and soft spoken.Probably situational but it's so bizarre to me.
Me too!
@@seenohearno9135 I think Chris is a chameleon. He can adapt to any environment or personality that he thinks is needed in that moment. Very scary guy.
The fact he describes himself as calm, and cautious is beyond me.
Definitely a possibility.
Not a fly.... but a human....🤔
Hey 😄 thanks again for knowledge ❤️ take care
Thanks for tuning in.
This analysis is intriguing and yes the patterns of behaviour are stand outs. Are you also interested in the testimony Anthony Todt gave on the stand as a defence witness in his own trial? I would appreciate your analysis of his odd and disturbing behaviour on the stand.
I also believe this man was poisoning his wife for years prior to murdering her and I'd be very interested to know your thoughts and opinions.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you!
I love this channel. You see so much
What gets me, is how did Chris go 30 plus years of his life with everyone thinking he was a good person. I haven't heard of any red flags before the event. How come his mask never slipped before. Not even a little? I have my own theories but his personality is a mystery how he went from seemingly nice guy to murderer overnight.
They saw it called him rain man 👨 co workers
Ssssooooooo you're saying.. what..
Me too you asked the question I've never heard the answer
I’m on it.
It's like he's talking at her, not to her, as he self snitches.
Narcs are that way. They are like children. No immer reflection. Children can BE cruel and selfish. There is a reason why children cannot witness at court Emotion crreate their truth.
Tammy you are a wonderful woman! ❤️
I can't imagine having to do this for a living. You're a hero for Shannan and co. God is pleased with you 🙏 ✨️ 🙌 ❤️
yeah chris,,,your a ''keeper''...omg
The whole family is laughing. Sick.
I haven’t seen this interview before. Very interesting
He’s so evil
His abuse of the word “like” is remarkable!
Like, I wish he would stop using the word like, he sounds so ignorant like 🤦
But he IS ignorant.. Plenty of non-native English speakers can run verbal circles around C.W.
I was surprised by his age doing that and then I listened to the NK interviews😠He had picked up her phraseology. Both sounded like Valley girls.
I cannot understand how he could even slightly try to entertain the possibility of getting out of prison 🙃. This guy is a absolute idiot with no remorse at all whatsoever 😒 🙄.
The saddest thing is that he is doing great time! He's in Colorado prison with his tablet, tv, Walkman and other percs. I'm a ex con so I know.
He still has a life.
It's amazing 👏 I will say it again, You put into words what I am thinking! 🤔 I was like He wants to be alone, lol! Maybe it was working w/ disabled for 20years, They couldn't always tell me, In words what was going on. So, you learn fast to" read the room."
Worst punishment of all.......knowing that busy body gossip giddy Nate was instrumental in his conviction.
I feel sickened listening to hear Chros Watts talking about himself!!!
No remorse for murdering his family 😢
He's discussing!!!
This man. To kill those babies, and how he did it…To kill Shannan. He is so evil, so disturbed. How did he have a normal life prior to it . Surely there must have been something that was noticed by people.
Why does he say LIKE every 2 seconds?? Can you analyze that?!?!?!
Please analyze mark duanes the guy that killed his wife
Question - What is significant about him not researching the movie theater before the first date with Shannan?
It was a movie theatre where you are meant to dress smartly and he came to his first date there in shorts and flip flops (or something similar) not that I’m sure why you’d dress like that on a first date.
In my opinion, it’s low effort at best and reduced sense of propriety at worst. It’s not a _linguistic_ point though.
@@martindecoder Thank you. I was wondering if you meant the lack of preparation was a narcissistic trait.
Absolute laziness.. no thought into making a nice impression for HER. It was all about HIM
@@a.m.9474 also shows he wasn't going to make any effort and thought he was perfect as is.
I don't know how the detectives, once he is in prison, can interview him and laugh.

This detective ist gold. I could never display so much self-control, listening to this gaslighting blahblah.
I think you are mis reading this, I think the light tone gives him some escape from the stress of what is going on
Chris thinking he had been unjustly treated in a police interview....must have thought he'd get the kid glove treatment and annoyed with himself for falling for a strategy..
He is so creepy . I love how he thinks God wants him to get-out of prison. It also amazes me how he has suddenly got like religion . Sorry Chris you are right where you belong locked up for like LIfe
if your a loving husband, you would be screaming find my wife and children stop asking pointless questions ffs
I always wonder when CBI began to suspect him.
Have you ever seen the interrogation of Russ Williams? I put that detective up here with these guys.
Thankfully we don't charge mistresses as accessories to murder with no evidence
@@martindecoder 👍
What about the fact that he took them to where the bodies were? They weren't stumbled upon. Only the killer would have such knowledge.
He dresses the same everyday now and he gets to wear underwear that gets worn by all other convicts until they're brown and wore out.
Even his constant monotone voice fry is calculated. Scarily, many aspects of his public face are very common these days.
He keep in touch with armchair detective to smear Shannan Rzucek and make her family suffer.
I was floored by comments by people condemning Shanann and excusing this monster! It was then I knew to disengage, knowing the evil of supposedly ‘normal’ people feeling sorry for Chris blew my mind🤯
Tammys fake laughs crack me up.
What’s so bloody funny Chris?
When did this phone call with the private investigator take place?
He´s such a queeny little murderer.
Tammy’s laughing sounds very fake
Because it IS! Chris Watts didn't think so though, and that's what that mattered! He thought they were on his side because of the fake laughing. So because of that, he began his word salad monolog about himself like he thought he was Shakespeare! He's only ticked off because he realized he fell for a simple tactic (or maybe a fellow inmate informed him of it if Chris boasted about his talk with investigators.... and learned what a sucker he actually was)
They meant good in a persecutors way
Yes,God put you there for a reason. He put you there because you wiped out your entire family .You are being punished.Take your punishment like a man and own up to what you did
So what is Chris new story on what happened if he is innocent? Did i miss something? How's did innocent ol' Chris lead detectives to the bodies and know how each of them died? TF is wrong with this man
What he was describing is normal cop speak
He grosses me out
