A new build already! You just jumped out of nowhere with great explanations for why you're picking things and why that makes the build work well. Looking forward to more!
"Well, Men. We did it. we've researched out to build a dyson sphere. Now we just need to build it" "Sir, we are -874 consumer goods a month, and +12 alloys a month, where are we going to get the resources to build it?"
Very nice! I appreciate the detailed breakdowns as well. I think the most important part of this game is decision making, so you explaining each decision and thought process is just as valuable as the build idea itself. Looking forward to the next one!
If you don't like democracy you can go under one rule with an enlightened ruler trait. It combines beautifully with faith in science tradition, tech world designation, senior science director bonuses and intellectual governor trait allowing you to make dirt cheap scientists and fully staffed tech worlds in record times.
Councilors *stack* tech weight bonuses with Technocracy now?? My god, I hope they keep that in the way it is. This is incredible, thank you for showing me this.
meecantile instead of dicovery to get consumer benefits trade law would be better in my opinion. You can dedicate the 2nd ring section as a trsde world and you dont have to worry about your economy collspsing
This gives me some ideas. I am going to try this with lithoid (quick learner, intelligent, incubator) + void dweller + eager explorers & technocracy, and otherwise do it the same as you. Void dweller start + eager explorer start should accelerate getting the needed techs, as will having early research habs. Pop-wise, with lithoid you can still settle every planet with only a bit of effort into improving habitability.
wouldn't it be better to take masterful crafters first and add meritocracy later? With meritocracy being a scaling bonus, it's less useful early on, whereas trade value, cg and building slots are all vital from the get-go, especially with shattered ring. Depending on how the early game goes you could build to either 3 or 6 industry districts on the first ring section, getting the ball rolling on that alloy accumulation, and those districts can be turned into housing districts later when you have more pops and are ready to upgrade the research labs. Additional alloys from additional indy districts also allows you to clear the -hab blockers earlier, and gives you more chances to upgrade starbases where and when you need them, not to mention habitats also what do you think about the unyielding tradition for people without the dlc ie access to the aptitude line? really well made video, great insights, thanks! 🙏

Did a couple of quick searches. I don't see that "Charisma" leader trait directly increases the chance for a void craft scientist. Did I hear that correctly? @ 1:40 seconds? Please explain.
In my most recent game I can't colonize the other ring sections. They need to be repaired like regular destroyed megastructures instead of the blockers.
Same one is destroyed by the asteroid, one can be repaired and one colonised. So only 3 segments. Idk you will probably get more value faster from an ecu or a mashine world if you start that way. Id rather start on a relic world.
@@stoyanb.1668 It depends on the amount of guaranteed colonisable planets. If its set to 2 you will be able to colonise both sections, if its turned off they can only be repaired normally.
Shatter Ring is one of my favs after the huge nerf but I play it a bit different: I go for fan egalitarian/materialist, racial traits are the same (including incubators) but for civics I use Parlamentary system and tecnocracy (of course) the third one depends on the game (usually: beacon of liberty, meritocracy or master crafters) I have a question though: How do you got psionic theory so early? being a materialist is terribly hard to get no?
Good build, but you are going to get mega engineering by year 65-75 anyway, if you are playing correctly, wouldn't it be better to prioritise repeatable specialists, like particles , propulsion or military theory? I did a run where I had over 500% research speed in physics and by year 400, I had repeatable 65 in attacked speed and repeatable 50 in damage.
Oh, this is a wonderful build! Just a question, how did you get the Psionics trait as a Materialist? Did you switch out of the ethic, or just got very luck with the anomalies?
i realise this is a late reply, but you can *nearly* guarantee zroni by only surveying habitable worlds and nothing else; zroni and grunur only spawn on habitables so it won't take long to get zroni by restarting until you get them this way

love your build and explanations too, say great AI do you now a good build for rouge servitors? i have seen them in many Tournament but i cant find a guide to play them.
Rogue Servitor is highly popular in tournaments due to their ability to significantly boost pop resource output, particularly for alloys, which is crucial for constructing military ships. This becomes especially important in PvP matches. I will also present a build for this strategy here in the future.

I would repleace technocracy with parlimentary system and go fanatic egalitarian, later on if you really want that 5th sciencist in the government you can always reform the goverment. This strategy (if you use academic privlege) gives you insane amounts of unity, more than even spiritualists.
I dont see how this is an improvement, the flat unity gains are not particularly impressive and you are sacrificing a chunk of research, more leader expertise traits and a research alternative.
I had the megastructure pre-reqs done at yr51 but didn't roll it until yr68. I think with some luck you could have a functional Dyson sphere by yr75. I was well prepared for the endgame at yr100 with this build.
the major problem with this build is that going so heavy in research means you will need a dedicated factory world, which you are not producing the alloys to actually build the damn thing. Your economy is going to be so bad and you won't really have the means to field a fleet to defend yourself from all those militarist neighbors you have that just hates your guts for no reason at all. You'd be force to submit yourself as a vessel and surrender 30% of your economy that you don't have. Unless you are playing on civilian or get really luck this won't work.
Not this exact build, but just a comment: I have shattered ring origin, 1 citadel, 5 star-fortresses, 8 other starbases, ruined strategic coordination center within my borders, a void craft head of science with 35% chance to get a voidcraft tech, I have had citadel, battleships, and zero point power technologies for 35 years. I have been pumping out engineering techs. Still nothing. This is why (after 500 games of stellaris) I have never built a dyson sphere, matter decompressor or ring world. Games are over by the time I might see the tech.
Doens't work well. In my huble opinion you need to have a lot of luck... I tryed this build 5 times and always get humiliatet at year 30-40 because Pacifist sucks 😀
