Hi Raphael, I just want you to know, since I am somewhat of a cake professional, that the glue taste that you had for the 5 star cake, might just be real glue. Some people, when making cakes, cut corners and use glue to stick things together, when they shouldn't. The small sticks may also be used to hold things together too.
You do realize that the little piece of stick is the end of the stick that they use to make the "fluids" float, right?!?! You probably cut a bit of it while cutting the cake....
Professionnals bakers use wood sticks to keep the cake straith and avoiding it from falling apart. So when you cut the cake you did accidently broke a piece from that wood stick !! You're welcome. Sleep well.
Professional bakers use skewers, even better they use plastic sticks specifically made for this purpose (I can't remember what they're called in English, I'm sorry). If any costumer, for any reason, get a piece of wood in his cake like he did, he can return the cake and get his money back or a refund, according to the situationa and the policy of the bakery they bought the cake from. This piece of wood in the cake was inexcusable!
Here’s my critique of the 5 star. The cake isn’t in any way level, The base is not perfectly rounded, nor perfectly oval. The anti-gravity “pour” effect is lost because there’s NO curvature to the liquid being poured from the can. The 1 star cakes are of course excused from perfection, but I have to give them credit for that cereal bowl. The base itself was nearly perfect.
The dark chocolate coming from the can is probably modeling chocolate, common to use for that type of thing. The wood is part of a dowel, used to keep the chocolate from the can standing up. So no, no one was trying to kill you.
Basically they're not trying to kill you but they tried to keep the top cake not to fall off It's a support of the cake when it's too spongy one or a tall ones Bakeries does that sometimes so the cake won't fall off. The glue smell thingy as I remembered always eating a cake back in my middle school cafeteria. Basically pastries absorb odors especially soaps and object with strong odors. The glue smell came from the cardboard underneath the cake which the cake absorbs it's smell , so it does affect the pastries smell if you place the pastry besides the objects with strong odors it will surely smell like poison But no you can eat it As I observe you inspect the 1 star cake you said it's smell plastic right Because if the place is too humid and if the cake is covered in it for too long The smell of the cake is stuck on the cover until it goes around then it turns it into a plastic smell thing , due to its suffocation of air that damages the cakes odor
First of all, toothpicks are too fragile to support large cakes, so it really shouldn't be there. But it's an honest mistake. Second, the environment isn't the thing causing the smell. Poor ingredients do. Yeah it does pick up the smell from the environment but with quality ingredients, that will not happen. So you can't blame the environment for the smell.
When you are describing the details, it would be nice if there’s a close up footage too. Maybe you can get another camera for a more closeup look if you haven’t already. Just a constructive criticism

I don't care if you do cakes for cheap or not. They should always be safe at the very least. The five-star-cake was a health hazard and that should NEVER happen. I cannot believe they gave you all of that for that small price. That is incredible.

I actually dont like the 5 star as much as the 1 star the people who rated it are liars and extremely harsh those cakes looked so so good they deserve ATLEAST 3.5 stars and generously 4.2 stars and the 5 star should be a 4.7 or .6 star idk I rely like the 1 star bit the 5s good too but the 1 definitely doesn't deserve a 1 just my opinion both places did great though
The 1 star bakery cakes look so much better than the 5 star ones! The 5 star ones were just overall totally disappointing. I would be pissed if my cake looked like that, smelled of glue (because taste is intrinsically mixed with smell - if it smells of glue, there’s a good chance that it will taste like it too), and it had a splinter in it! (You could sue them for that! That’s dangerous!) Plus it cost way more! You should share the names of the bakeries, because if I were ordering, I would want to make sure that I order from the 1 star, rather than the 5 star bakery EDIT: Also, I think that if you had done this test blind, without knowing which one was the 5 star and which was the 1 star, you would have preferred the 1 star cake (as a matter of fact, you probably would have thought that the 1 star cake was the 5 star one)! Studies have shown that when we think food is more expensive or more desirable, we think it tastes better (even if it doesn’t). I think that’s probably why you liked the 5 star cake, even with all the gross problems that came with it (I mean, dude, you literally said that glue-cake tasted good lol).
Many cakes use toothpicks and wooden sticks to hold up cakes it’s pretty common in baking especially for more extreme designs and isn’t that unusual it’s even taught to be used to help your cakes, and it’s featured in many tv shows aswell like it isn’t grounds to sue
Andrei Radu CC is right. What is the point in commenting that I’m wrong if you’re not going to explain why you think that. Right now you’ve added absolutely nothing of value to this thread. So why do you think I’m wrong?
Ryan Copperthwaite I’m afraid you’re wrong - it could absolutely be grounds to sue. That splinter was in the cake itself. Imagine if a kid was eating the cake and swallowed a splinter! Of course, it could happen to adults too; but young children are at a greater risk of choking. Not only could someone choke on a splinter like that, but it could cause some serious damage to a person’s insides in the process. If there is a risk of splinters being in the cake, they need to put some sort of warning on the box or website. It is not normal to find splinters inside a cake - even if it was made using wooden tiers or toothpicks.
They both look good, the 1star is great for what you paid. The 5 star is literally incredible but the bowl for the cereal should have been a color other than white.
They were probably testing if it was ready when the cake was baking that’s probably why there was a tooth pick lol don’t know if someone said this already
I hope you contacted the 5 star bakery and let them know that need to be more careful. That wood piece could have happened to someone else and caused a tragedy. I know it was most likely an accident, but they need to be more wary of what they are doing when making everything they do.
Yeah of they're going to use small tooth picks they should be telling them where they're located. We had small bamboo rods in my cake I ordered and when my mom picked it up the lady showed us exactly where they were.
The one star is better because they actually gave you what you ordered and probably spent more time on it and gave 2 cakes where the 5 star only did one cake.
Then that's way worse, first of all if the other half of the toothpick was left inside then how did they would've known it's done. Secondly and most important of all, is that if they are aware that there's a toothpick piece left inside they should have removed it and or not send it off at all because they can be sued. Specially rapa has it on video. That 5 star bakery seems shady and doesn't deserve 5* at all. 5star means perfection and can never make a mistake. I'm working in this industry and a single hair could cause the company to lose a fortune let alone remnants of glue. No matter where i look at this, rapa should get another cake, get a refund or they can be sued. (well ofc he needs to complain first but knowing rapa he wouldn't complain about it he's too nice)
@@shenabae4883 TRUE! Yess honestly they should be wayyy more careful they should have made a new cake and not used glue at all! I have no idea why they need glue but thats my opinion.

"It's 5 🌟 s on Google and probably 1 🌟 on Health and safety." LMAO Be the way if someone had that piece with the tooth pick and started to choke, that'd be def problem.
Chowk? You mean choke?
Frankly, I hope he went at least a little Karen on them for that one. Imagine if a little kid had been given that piece of cake! To quote Gordon Ramsey: "You could KILL someone!!"
"I really like this, it tastes just like glue." 😂 I mean, if that's your snack of choice, to each his own.
Jokes aside though, I really do enjoy these 1star vs 5 star cake reviews. They're very interesting!
1 star bakery puts effort on its product.. It looks better ..
the wood peace was a toothpick in cakes we use it to identify the right side once we cut into it to fill it in and meybe they forgot to remove it.
Ahhh I died when he said “they found my videos and they are trying to kill me” oh lord, lmao 😂
Me: excuse me, I wanna order a cake?
Bakery man: ok, what flavor do you like?
Me: school glue
Bakery man:
Alrighty want some anthrax on top or on the side
youre always SO so sweet with hyping these companies up regardless of what they look like 🥺❤️
You should judge them without knowing which is the 5 and which is the 1 Star.
He should have both in front of him and not know which is which so he can’t be biased. Like after taste and visual.
All the five star cakes look wonky. One side higher than the other. Is it an optional illusion because noone mentions it
the first five star cake looked really lopsided tbh..
I know I was wondering why the layers were so wonky and uneven
i feel like they made the coca cola side normal and the cereal side look like a bowl so its kind of weird
You should share the names of the bakeries, because if I were ordering, I would want to make sure that I order from the 1 star, rather than the 5 star bakery
EDIT: Also, I think that if you had done this test blind, without knowing which one was the 5 star and which was the 1 star, you would have preferred the 1 star cake (as a matter of fact, you probably would have thought that the 1 star cake was the 5 star one)! Studies have shown that when we think food is more expensive or more desirable, we think it tastes better (even if it doesn’t). I think that’s probably why you liked the 5 star cake, even with all the gross problems that came with it (I mean, dude, you literally said that glue-cake tasted good lol).
@Andrei Radu maybe you could say why? lmao what a pointless comment
Unpopular opinion but I think he should bring back the cooking videos
Watching him cook was so funny
kaylah Williams Wow! Why didn't I noticed that?
Am i the only one who thinks that the one star is better?😅😂
They were probably testing if it was ready when the cake was baking that’s probably why there was a tooth pick lol don’t know if someone said this already
More likely or just to make sure cake won't slip to one side. The hardest part in cakes with big topers is to stabilise them well.
Or they legit want to kill customers so they don’t get bad reviews lol
i always wonder what do you do with that much amount of cake after you make this videos
I think the cereals of the 5 star is not as colorful as the 1 star because they wanted to match the colours of the coke
Once again the 1 star cake is better to me considering the budget and the rating.
It looks great.
The one star is better because they actually gave you what you ordered and probably spent more time on it and gave 2 cakes where the 5 star only did one cake.
Well he did say he asked them to incorporate it into one cake like the other did
The 1 star actually is really good!!
The second cake blended it with a drink and a cereal bowl on a table.
Am I the only one who prefers the ⭐️ (1 star) cake????
1* cakes looked great. They don't use glue. They use icing to glue/stick things. Love your videos.
If you know how those anti-gravity cakes work, it's less magical, but they still look impressive!
I prefer the 1 star. The 5 star didn't seem to fit together well to me xxx
he said that he want it blended so that's why
It was also lopsided :/
I also liked better the 1 star ❤️
@@dailylifeofharley1998 But it wasnt blended well though. Definitely lopsided.
“Anything is edible if you want to” you got me there
the one star looks nice tho! deserve 4 star
The piece of wood trying to "kill" you was a piece of tooth pick bakers use tooth picks to make sure the cake is completely done baking and not raw.
@alexis ocean man ikr but Idk maybe they didnt want to stick their finger into the cake cuz then the cake would be ruined? I don't know😂
I still wouldn't want to choke on a piece of toothpick.
@@noone2065 ya SAME😬
Then that's way worse, first of all if the other half of the toothpick was left inside then how did they would've known it's done.
The 1 star cakes looks way better in my opinion 👏🏻
I like the two cakes better than the blended one. Those themes don’t go together well enough to make it one cake. And also, you should get your money back because no cake should have wooden shards in it 🙈😝
and neither taste like glue 🤣
those wooden shards are toothpicks and those are for cake supports
