+Kat Rei Tape might be your bff then lol. Take off some stickyness on the back of your hand tho to prevent harsh tugging around the eye area tho. The first strip will be a kind of guard, it should follow the same angle as your bottom waterline, or lower lash line. It should end under the tail or point of the arch of ur brow. The length for the second strip would need to be from the end of the first strips top corner, to the end of your visible crease in your socket. This should create a kind of stencil for your liner if followed properly or if I even explained it well enough. I hopes I helped some;3 I get tips from Kevin Aucoins sister, super helpful

Before I got contacts that used to happen to me so I would get a full length body mirror and stand up and get EXTREMELY close, like almost touching the mirror, and apply my eyeliner

try putting tape,the edge of it needs to be kinda extending ur lower lashline, when u take the tape off the wings are sharp and even,just do not use a runny eyeliner . this trick saved me!

Great tip on bringing the wing back in by not going all the way out to the edge. I was doing that, going to the edge and then bringing it back in, and always getting one eye perfect, and the other one messed up. So frustrating! I always end up wiping off the whole wing and starting over, or throwing in the towel altogether! I will try this tip later today. Thanks!
If your gel liner dries out just get a toothpick and mix it around. My maybelline liner was rock hard...now it's actually more "wet" than before.

also if you add eye drops it becomes a lot smoother:)
It also helps to store it upside down, with the lip facing down. I find this helps with keeping moisture at the top part when the container is opened.

I don't expect that you will see this... but before I saw this tutorial I was hopeless with gel liner, especially with trying to do winged eyeliner but once I saw this I applied your techniques and perfected it straight away on my first try! Hi. This may sound like a really dumb question....do you put your eyeliner on after you've done your eye make up or before? Or if you go for a winged effect do you go without eye shadow?

+Kait Nichole Hi Kait! I am not sure if this is a common issue... but when I use a felt tip pen to draw my eyeliner over my eyeshadow, I notice that it is harder to draw the line on. Is there a way to get around this?
+Jazmine Vega A small amount of eyeshadow primer goes a long way. Pat to apply with your pinky finger from the center of your lid, and work your way out to avoid the primer causing cakeyness and creasing around your eyes. If the problem still occurs, Set the liner using a small flat angled brush in a metallic or matte color that matches the liner.

i been practicing my winged liner on my days off but my first attempt was awful, i did my left eye first and loved it and i took maybe 40 minutes trying the right eye and eventually it got puffy from rubbing off the liner so much but ive gotten a little better, i think it just takes practice

ah yes me too. i use a liquid water proof liner and it always gets stuck in my eye lashes. And it doesn't get out easily since it's water proof 😶
use an eye lash curler and curl them down, apply the eyeliner then curl them again.

lol i dont do it everyday maybe like on special occasions, most of the time makeup in the morning takes me like 10 minutes.. antioxidant serum, tinted moisturizer, eye details, face details, spritz of setting spray and done! hahaha

the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner was my favorite for YEARS, i loved it, it lasted forever no matter how often i used it BUT I got lazy with the brush thing so lately I've been using felt tip liner pens (but they dry out too quickly) so now i use NYX Liquid Vinyl and i love it as well.

It took me about 2 years alimony three years . Just to do mines perfectly . But sometimes it won't take that that long to do the winged eye . But just jeep trying and you'll get the hang of it .
honestly this helped a lot, and I already had the eyeliner so it's perfect!!!
For those struggling with making them even on both sides try a small piece of tape or little post it notes until you get the hang of it... then you can go sans post it's lol!
