It's hard to keep positive about Payday 3, so imo the smartest way to handle it is to stay hesitantly optimistic but at arms length to not let our expectations run rampant
Yeah, if they keep making positive changes over the next few months, and maybe launch a big event to get people to jump back on when the game is in a good state, maybe then I'll get back into it.
I will admit, I do miss all the achievements. There's a fun joy in seeing so many of them and trying to get some of them, and it allowed for a lot more wacky challenges and such~
People don’t necesssrily realize how much replayability achievements added to the game, I’d often replay heists so I could go for these one off wacky challenges, it’s such a simple thing that would make a huge difference
Me and my friend purley hopped on to see how many achievements we could get in one day from doing special things on missions we’d already have played hundreds of times. Good times.
They haven't added any achievements to consoles since launch. It's ridiculous. There's 22 achievements. Payday 2 had 120. I just want fun achievements :(
Payday3 is a testament of how little devs know about their own game is played, online only had no advantage and ruined the release. The armor system meant that no matter how good a player was he could never leverage armor gatting to differentiate himself from bad player
online only makes it easier for the devs to track who has what DLC, it's a way to make "unlock all" mods/cheats harder to get. it's a money issue. the way they fell on their sword was comical
I wish they added just plain ol' heists. Bank, small Bank, big Bank, tough Bank, casino, I'm a HEISTER NOT JOHN WICK!! Not saying action is bad but I want to heist and steal not just kill for a revenge plot
We haven't had a single assassination "heist" yet. They do their revenge by stealing. Because they're heisters. There's plenty to criticise with this game, you don't need to make things up. There's the SCB for a small bank, Gold and Sharke for the big bank. No casino yet, but warehouses, mansions and now even wallstreet are perfectly good targets for theft too.
The idea of heisting has changed since Payday 2, at that point we're only Heisters by name - we were much closer to being mercenaries instead (stealing, securing cargo, rigging elections, high-profile assassinations, all the bells and whistles)
They also wrote themselves into a corner by not resetting the story. The story can't go back to be about robbing banks after we fought demons and shit. Should have just kept the characters but make a new story
It was not "review bombed" in terms of "just given negative reviews just because of some arbitrary and nonsensical reason". It got downvoted to hell for being a mess, as it should be.
There’s a really fun game there, has been since day one. Problem is not enough different stuff to so. Mask system was gutted, weapons were gutted, and in exchange for less missions on launch than most contemporaries we got missions that aren’t as compelling as the simple ones like bank heist to replay. Frankly turning my brain off to fight was half the appeal.
@@jrk1666 The core is basically an updated version of PD:TH, which is a great idea. Unfortunately, that's all it has going for it. The core. Everything beyond that was either half assed or not even attempted
A big thing they’ve forgotten about is the multiple ways of entry and exit on heists. Remember when the van would pull up to a random spot and you’d have to maneuver differently? Or when you could enter on Shadow Raid through the back, the front, jump down from a roof nearby or from a manhole cover from the tunnels underneath? There’s no variation anymore, nothing that makes you feel like a heister, just stuff to make you feel like a robot
No man's sky got good will for both being a very small team and NEVER adding any more paywalled content while fulfilling 95% of their promices and adding more that wasn't even promised. People need to remember that when they talk about redemption. Until PD3 stops hoping people would forget their mistakes and just forgive them (like audience did with Cyberpunk 2077) things will not change. Add new and legacy content for free, fix bad systems, be mod friendly and people might forgive you for deception you pulled on them
Your comment about Cyberpunk 2077 i find actually unfair considering you praise No man's sky for turning good. Cyberpunk 2077 also turned good its sitting at 85% Positive. Saying "hoping people would forget their mistakes and just forgive them (like audience did with Cyberpunk 2077)" is just unfair.
@@monkaSisLifeI mean Cyberpunk was still never fixed on last gen. Better now or no, No Man's Sky was fixed on all its launch platforms. Cyberpunk was released on PC/Xbone/PS4 and was only properly fixed on one of those. People tend to forget that Cyberpunk is still broken as fuck on two thirds of its launch platforms. Technical limitations or not that's a big issue that CDPR seems content to ignore.
@@monkaSisLife Hello games were a small studio that locked itself in contract with Sony. They never released any paywalled content. CDPR were veterans that crunched their employees, released unfinished buggy mess that is mediocre under their flashy surface and later released paywalled content even though their promises of branching story, varied backstory, highly explorable city and world responding to player are still very far from being fulfilled with promise of multiplayer mode just being dropped outright. I don't care what people think of GTA with cyberpunk skin. Life is strange has over 150k reviews on Steam with over 95% of them being positive. People can be wrong on mass with anything, this is just another example. Enjoy what you want but be honest about product you are dealing with.
The extent to which people have just forgotten all of what was promised for 2077 and how long it took them to even fix the game, let alone start adding stuff promised to be there on launch, is wild.
@jimbob1862 I think the unfortunate thing about Cyberpunk on ps4/Xbone is that it's probably unfixable and never should have been put on this platforms. Obviously, that's not an excuse, it's a criticism. Trying to force a game on a platform that can't handle it is something they should still fry criticism for. But, if the problem is unfixable, then it's hard to set a reasonable bar for redemption. People who got burned by the last gen version of 2077 have every right to still feel robbed, and some compensation should have been issued at the least. (I think some compensation was issued, but it didn't cover everyone? It's been a while. I'll have to check. ) But as someone who had it on release day on PC (and bought a RTX 3090 in prep), I kinda have to separate criticism of the business practices from criticism of the game as a work of art because by its own merits, the current version of 2077 is 100% a redeemed version of the game.
I still fell like I was scammed by this game. Was expecting a updated and cool new take on payday 2. Instead I got challenge based progression, boring heists and my pre order bonus taking a month to arrive. Paid for early access and couldn't play at all in the three days since the servers were dying. I want to give it another chance but I'm gonna wait for the armour changes to be tested by others.
Small correction, but the servers were functional during early access. They only exploded after the game came out. Unless they somehow worked for me and not for you? Wouldn't surprise me tbh
@@TiwillYe, people tend to remember that things were bad and then assume that everything was bad all the time. There were no significant server issues during early access.
It is nice to see payday 3 finally start to take a turn for the better. I remember the travesty that was the payday 2 launch where unlocking literally anything was tied to lootboxes at the end of a mission and almost nothing else. Payday 3 can definitely still recover if the devs keep up the solid work.
I really appreciate you making this type of video, I love your commentary so this type of lengthy overview of the past year is perfect for those curious about what's been happening with the game. I'm really looking forward to Armor 2.0, as well as hopefully Skills 2.0. I also plan on picking the game back up at least for a bit when the UI Revamp and Server Browser are released. As you said, there is light at the end of the tunnel, one day we'll get there.
The widespread conflation between legitimate bad reviews and "review bombing" is getting out of hand. Especially on steam, a non insignificant amount of people seem to think reviews should be exclusively positive.
I think the biggest negative about the game was the 6 or so months of nothing really substantial and/or new. I remember Halo Infinite's launch where they they had about 9 months of extremely dry updates. By the time their 3rd and 4th seasons rolled around with actually good, new content consistently, with new maps and free cosmetics every other week, people just didn't care and never gave it a chance again. Even despite the dry momth where Starbreeze devs were on holiday, the hastened release cycle from Oil in Room to Land of the Green really helped the game imo. Hopefully Year 2 content starts rolling out fairly quickly, or they're able to fill the gap somehow.
I think they'd gain a lot from a lot of Halo's more community oriented features that keep even games like 5 alive. The appeal of features like Forge can't be underestimated. Imagine being able to take one of the heists and just fuck with it's parameters. Instant night of fun with the boys, even more if you can just browse a setup from other players and just set up a custom lobby. Or hell, just rip off Halo's skulls and make insane modifiers you can add to a heist for personal challenge runs. Big on stealth? Take a skull that kills you in one hit but boosts your earnings if you're successful.
this game does have an audience, just not a mainstream one. payday the heist understood this, GTFO understood this. why can't payday 3 get that this game isn't for everyone?
pd2 is considered peak payday in the community, and most people dont like that game either, so i agree with this, its not for everyone nor can it be. Its just not a game everyone can get in on and thats fine, so let us have what we want.
It’s not in the shareholders’ of Starbreeze’s best interests to try to cater to a more niche audience, they’d rather it be accessible to as many people as possible. Obviously that’s a flawed mindset, since making jt more widely appealing actually just makes the true target audience like it less.
No joke under 800steam players on Saturday night in a brand new game is ruff , when I seen that number any desire to buy this game went out the window forever😢.
Genuinely, the game would immensely benefit from having more ways to stack damage buffs, and defense buffs. I think the "defense" overhaul with Armor 2.0 is going to mostly solve half of this issue; but the other half is basically figuring out a way to let players use any weapon they want, instead of solely relying upon what's most meta. If you try to go into Overkill difficulty with something like the Spas-12, you are going to be sorely disappointed with its performance compared to anything like the M14, Scar, or the G3, which are absolute machines by comparison.
I know you have apologized about the past, but I feel that this video is a bit revisionist given what you had posted before and during launch. Payday 3's biggest competition is Payday 2, and I don't see Payday 3 getting to within hitting distance of Payday 2 for some time.
@@francescogreco6777they had 10 years to learn and still fumbled basic gameplay stuff. I obviously didn't expect as many heist and guns/masks as PD2 had at the end, but just the basics didn't work properly
There's still greed tho, IIRC they said MICROTRANSACTIONS are coming in 2025, they just "delayed them" because they 1st wanted to have a better PD3 foundation
Yea pretty funny how he apologized for shilling in the past just to go back to doing it again. Like jesus, just put that you are "relativly optimistic" or sth instead of just going in full bore again. UA-camrs and some players really so have what feels like an abusive relationship with game devs...
Replayabilty is in the gutter and people still defend it. It’s honestly heartbreaking dude gta pivoted towards heists after the gta 4 mission was so popular. This game by all accounts would have a license to print money only for it to just straight up crash and burn…
You think it will last that long ??? Very optimistic considering current player numbers. Plus devs reputation is in the bottom of a toilet. In PD community no one trust a word they are saying, 2 many lies , endless scams and constant bs got them to this point.
@@ninochaosdrache3189 yes there was Some BUT not to that extent, pd2 had hype and gameplay to back it up and there was good will in the community almost everyone i know got pd2, now I have friends refusing to buy 2$ pd2 dlc bc they don't trust devs and don't want to support any way. All I'm saying numbers speak fp0or themselves.
Even though Payday 3 seems to be entering the playable state, I'm still unsure about its future. Yes, some players are coming back, but many, including the ones that sticked with the franchise for over a decade, had quit with no desire to come back. Combine that with some people still seeing Payday 3 as it was on launch and Deep Silver/Plaion, who can decline their contract with Starbreeze once it reaches a deadline and stop funding to them altogether, will the game have a future, and will Starbreeze stay operating until the release of Project Baxter, scheduled in 2026? 4 things can happen: - Payday 3 succeeds in recovering its lost players - the good ending, - Payday 3 fails in recovering lost players, forcing Starbreeze to shut down the servers and stop further development - the bad ending, - Payday 3 fails in recovering lost players, but Starbreeze keeps the support up anyway - the neutral ending, - Payday 3 fails in recovering players, but against all odds, Starbreeze decides to sell the IP entirely - the dice roll ending.
I think there's another option you're ignoring, and it's the one I really hope happens. Starbreeze gets bought out by a company that fixes their games and makes them actually worth buying. A dead game can be revived with proper marketing, Cyberpunk proves this, and Payday absolutely has the foundation for an Edgerunners style revival
@@filmandfirearms oh, yeah. I just don't know who could do it. The only corporations that could do this purchase I know don't have great reputation. However, if what you said would happen, then this would be either alternative good or neutral ending.
@@filmandfirearms cyberpunk was far from dead though it was just broken and missing features, it had nearly millions of people wanting it to be good. payday doesnt have a fanbase the size of cyberpunks nor does it seem to have the equal rallying support that cyberpunk had.
And the best ending is the make a game with all 3 games remade with the payday 3 mechanics making the two previous games more playable and fun and more accessible
I really enjoy PD3 right now, sure it has its negatives and idk if im coping but i just got used to it. I play my own setup, i enjoy it and its sometimes nice seeing the same people on somedays. I really hope its going to get better next year and i do believe PD3 will have a comeback. But its really in the hands of starbreeze. I do have alot more faith than on release
imagine if huhston had been done in time and instead of huston having to be escorted out of the court house he became a 5th member of the crew (allways a bot ofc) in loud. would have been so cool even if the entire heist was the same in every other way.
This video made me buy Payday 3 gold fawk im downloading it right now; the gameplay was looking smooth af, and game seems to be heading in a good direction right now
@@creed9938 Maybe you should listen to what is said in the video then. Releading a sequel with less content and features than the previous game usually doesn't go down well and rightfully so.
I think a new, high profile guest heister might genuinely be what the game needs to hit mainstream and shake off the mud, obviously only after the game has improved enough to not get called shit again
Even if I stopped playing shortly after release and doing all heists on overkill within a few weeks, I'm still hopeful Andreas and Almir can turn things around but its gonna be a pretty massive uphill battle but I believe they can do it especially with how quick they turned some things around when it came to some changes.
Personally for me I feel like a majority of the heists have crappy payouts so I only play Gold & Sharke which I now started playing in stealth. I hope at some point we’ll get the advanced preplanning of Payday 2 where we can have something like Big Bank with multiple entries/escapes. So they can make heists with decent payouts and have a variety of gameplay. My main issue with the game is the economy of a lot of stuff costing a lot of money (like preset weapons being like $10m) and heists being kinda long for at most on the hardest difficulty being $2.2 million. But also not much to spend money on.
Yeah, the heist payout disparity is really demoralising. Doing Rock The Cradle loud feels like a slap in the face every time I see the payout screen. Why did they name it Rock The Cradle and give it a full John Wick aesthetic just to make stealth borderline mandatory?
Honestly, I'm one of the more optimistic payday fans out there and I do believe payday 3 can be a game worth buying full price someday. The trouble I have recommending PD3 even a year after it's launch, is that for the same price of payday 3 and it's dlc (or even just the ~£30 base edition), you can get payday 2 with a bunch of its DLC, totalling far more content with far more to play around with and generally a more polished and arguably more fun package. I hope someday I'll be able to look on this and see where I could've comfortably finished this off with "for now" when I'm living in a world where payday 3 is the obvious choice over 2. Admittedly, Payday 2 is now a complete product and a product most of us here have played for years. That means it's not quite as easy as saying "play payday 2 instead". Payday 3 MUST succeed to keep payday fans as, well... fans.
That's what makes my blood boil the most, lol. PD2 had such a unique UI/HUD design, it had a distinctive style (albeit a bit cluttery) - and PD3's UI is literally dev build placeholders a year after the launch, like WTF 😂
Ngl I don't follow this game too much, but I hope it gets something similar to the No Man Sky's development where it started out quite bad but it gets better and better. I always loved PD2 so seeing what is supposed to be its sequel slowly rising despite being like more than 6ft under at some point is quite cool.
I found this so weird, because I never experienced any Matchmaking problems, I have the cheapest WIfi you can buy and I had no issues, the only issues were after everyone left and there simply wasn't any people playing. And I'm going to give everyone advice...If you find something cheesey and you don't like how easy it makes something....you're allowed to not use it. If you constantly break the game, and also constantly complain about the tactics saying it's too easy. IT'S YOUR FAULT, YOU'RE THE ONE DOING IT! THERE ISN'T AN IMAGINARY FORCE THAT MAKES U PLAY THAT WAY YOU JUST WANT SOMWTHING TO WHINE ABOUT. You'd have merit if the game was competitive, but it isn't. there isn't even a leader board! You're doing this to yourself. you don't like it? don't use it, let everyone else play how they wanna play then you play how you wanna play. I remember when I found out how to get rid of camera on No Rest For The Wicked by luring the camera guard ways to do that. It made no mask Heisting bearable while solo, and that cool tiny little mechanic, all it did was save time, and was fundamentally the exact same as killing the guard, but you didn't need to have your mask on, and then it was gone. Went bye bye. for no reason. A PVE game getting rid of all the cool shit that makes maps or gameplay styles unique.
Very comprehensive video thank you. I'm a hardcore PD2 fan. Been watching PD3 keenly since 2023 release, unwilling to part with my money for it. Gone on sale on Steam ending 6th Nov. Thinking now might be the time to finally give it a chance.
DUDEEE I didn’t even know there was a sale for console I was assuming it would have only been like 15% too but 60% off ? That’s wild for reference the gold edition is cheaper than the base game before the sale
I remember being frustrated at the servers and armor system at the first week of the game that i just stopped playing and haven't thought of it till this video.
I have 500 hours in payday 3 and I’m really happy Almir has taken over mios position and I have hope for this game it has good music good gunplay and a good base it just needs to improve payday 2 got a decade to improve so we just need to trust the process with payday 3 because it could actually become better than its predecessor one day 🔥🤝🐐
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. They need to give us more free heists that are remakes of heists from the 1st 2 games. Not only would that add to the games replay value, but it would also help garner more goodwill from the community. If they think this game is going to survive off of 4 new heists a year, they are sorely mistaken.
I definitely changed my opinion at launch but the game definitely needs more free heists weapons and quality of life fixes to be considered a good game
As someone who's been consistently on Payday 3 ever since release, I love seeing the game begin to get better over the years. The updates are awesome, so is the DLC. Call me a shell out, but I've not been hesitating to give my money to Overkill.
Idk PD3 still has 1/10 of the playerbase that Payday 2 has and that game already lost a big amount of players. I personally would still not recommend PD3 to anyone especially because HD2 is out and is a lot more unique and fun even with issues.
Still crazy for me to learn about the one time you were "imprisoned by Dragan" and your chance of freedom was to play Payday 3 and one of them was Grouse.
Recently went back to the game and there is a solid game here but there still some gripes I have about it, like gun levels. Like I get myself a new weapon and when I wanna do stealth with it too bad and so I been unable to check out any new weapons unless I'm doing loud and unlike payday 2 I cannot slap on some attachments instead I have to grind them out and I could not mind if they wanna charge me extra for the parts instead having to grind for it leveling up. Also the store is a mess like I wanna know if I'm buying a primary or secondary and not guess
As an outsider, how does the Mask of the Week and Twitch Drops work? Have they just made a ton of content that would only be temporarily available (for such a barren game), or are they later just added to the game for everyone?
one very small error, on launch the only thing playable on the ps5 version were the tutorials, no heists at all. i remember running the loud tutorial back to back just to get some combat lol
I can cope with always online, microtramsactions, janky animations, lack of a story. The thing I hate the most about PD3 is something that will never change... PD3 build making is generic as it has little gear and gun choices to make it worse, the limited stack buff system leaves very little build diversity compared to PD2.
Needless to say it didn't pull off a helldivers 2 which despite doomposters and trolls still trying to change perception about is thriving now that summer is over and people are playing their casual games a lot more. Even if i had a PC that could run this mess just the lack of deep mod support and lack of single/offline player support puts me off even harder then some of the other aspects
Have they acknowledged anywhere the year long loading times to get into the game, into a heist AND out of a heist? And the random disconnects? Its almost unplayable :/
my friends preordered this game on ps5 and then one switched to pc which meant we started playing games on there instead and the other never played it. the pc friend was having pc issues and we needed more crossplay games for all of us anyways so we agreed that i'd buy payday 3 so we could all have it. we just started this week and so far i see it has issues and i understand why people don't like it but i've had a blast so far. personally, just change the armor, fix the team ai, and some general bug fixes and then i'd say it's actually a really good game
I know more than likely this will never get read by TheKknowley himself but [unintelligible] a small youtuber made fantastic points on why Payday 3 had such a shitty start and not just saying because of the launch and matchmaking barely working he dives in what made us fall in love with the series in the first place the heists and how the objectives in payday 2 have way more player interaction than the ones payday 3's launch had. Instead of sitting in circles waiting for a bar to fill up in big bank to "Hack the Wi-Fi" for example you would actually have one player go up to a crane and drop the gear through the roof of big bank needed for the heist. He makes another amazing point of how us heisters who are criminal masterminds don't really use anything illegal to help our plan succeed WERE ROBBERS USE MORE ILLEGAL STUFF than hacking with a damn phone for a vault use like c4 and blow through the roof of the vault or crashing a bus through the wall on big bank there's no interesting objectives and the hordes of police are barely there to act as a "threat" there's nothing that makes a player want to keep playing after their first run through in the end we all wanna see Payday 3 do good but their still blatant gameplay flow issues and the objectives are always boring point a to point b without any flare and hacking phones is getting boring let me set a van on fire to get a guy out of hiding like on heat street WERE CRIMINALS WERE NOT FOLLOWING ANY RULES OR GUIDELINES WE USE WHAT WE NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE. End of the day love your content and keep it up as your channel is the communities voice to the developers as we all want to mask up as heisters and have a good time like in payday 2
Ever since Almir has been at the helm its gotten better and its gonna keep on trucking. I've been enjoying it alot, ever since boys in blue its been on a uptick.
@@MementoMori7777 I think it mainly comes from launch and the people that refuse to give it another shot and say its garbage. I played after boys in blue so I've never really had any negative opinon.
I will say that I personally HATE the "Oh wait for the big patch to fix that" mentality every game company has. Like sure some devs go crazy like the Ark devs pushing multiple patches a day sometimes but personally I think weekly or monthly patches are fine even if they are just bug fixes. "Hey here is a 1.1MB patch that fixes that door that didn't open and moves one of the menu buttons so it looks better" is honestly WAY WAY WAY better than "Oh yeah wait 3 months for us to fix anything."
I would not say that core fans of the franchise are warming up to Payday 3. Source: I like PD:TH, I love Payday 2, I can't stomach much of Payday 3. Despite a whole year of content updates and minor system changes, the actual core issues of the game have not been addressed aside from solo mode. The game at its foundation is not as fun as Payday 2 and it's shocking they haven't carried over what worked in Payday 2. It's almost like the team that made Payday 3 isn't even the same team that made Payday 2.
more free content needs to be added, there’s no good will with the community anymore. people may be optimistic but they’re not happy with starbreeze and overkill. if an update came along with 8 free masks, 3 free weapons and 2 free *new* heists came out, people would feel like the devs actually care about the community and are apologetic to how the game started
SB burned any good will from the community long time ago, where have you been ??? What you see in front of you is a final result, ppl from my PD2 Group would not spend 2$ on a dlc at this point and buying PD3 is an open joke in chat.
@@jinmark9453 We must hold to our faith, brother. I still have faith in this game. It'll be amazing soon. When that day comes, I'll reply again to you to remind you. That is, if you don't already keep up with PD3 news.
Gotta admit, they are making me heavily consider buying the game now. I tried it on gamepass and the always online servers crapping out, over priced DLC, and terrible xp system were a giant turn off. Once we get a finished offline mode, it's going on the wishlist.
I think they just wanted the characters to not look like their VAs. They did that with the heisters as the core 4 look very different to how they did in Payday 2
Payday 3 killed Payday IP for sure. Payday 2 proved to us Star Breeze lies as easy as they breath. Yet they made a good game and made it quickly. It was always a game, even if some things were not liked until later. But Payday 3 does not feel like a game. Its never felt like a game. Look please do not buy the gold edition. Look at the steam charts between Payday 2 and Payday 3. Their third installment not only is a horrific game, but they treated the fans so badly they just up and left the series. It does not have any potential, and because it has no potential they will put zero work into it. Needless to say, its trash. I also saw someone compare the fans of Darktide to Payday 3, since both had bad preorder issues. But here is the thing. Fatshark gave people a game. One people enjoyed. They also listened... people thought it was to hard, and now they game is very easy to get into. What people ask for they get. Meanwhile Star Breeze just disrespect their fans AND has a horrific game. Which by the way, moneys not really an issue for me so I never bothered refunding my game. That said, I played recently to see all these new changes. I was like... wow they added a quick play, so I can play since no way my friends will touch this POS again... but its so bad. The whole game is so so bad. So yes Fatshark may have disrespected their player base the same way as Star Breeze... they listened to them and made a GOOD game. So even if they were disrespecting them... no one cared. You cannot do both. You cannot piss off all your fans with bad business practices and then also make a bad game. Pick a fucking lane Star Breeze. I mean not only did Payday 3 kill the Payday IP I bet you it killed Star Breeze. Will people buy their new D&D game? I won't. No one in my gaming group will. I mean they sold their reputation for short term profits while trying to sell games long term... Which is like impossible. You.... at least have to change names.... but we all know the games name as well, so that would also need to be changed and that cannot because you have to build hype for games.
Truth be told I look forward to Y2, though the NEED NEED NEED! to get hotfixes out a bit faster like how steam does hotfixes and server fixing twice every month or two. as for DLC I hope they feel less P2W because having nearly back to back 2 pistols that hit harder than a drunkard while free guns we got a secondary SMG and a LMG (yes yes the minigun but I'm not counting it.) but the gun selection so far I find beautiful and I hope we get holiday heists like in PD2 (hopefully new ones but I wouldn't mind some of the old ones returning) also I hope we further expand cosmetics because I'd love to apply wood furnishings to guns as well as various more styles of varnishes.
@@Bigsean74 I'm not fully, I do appreciate it's well deserved place, I do hope they decide for the funny to add a compact and quick pull mag option just because it's capable of taking mags, turning it into a wild direct upgrade to the CAR-4

I remember being amazed by the fact that they added achivements with most content updates, the other games I play rarely add new achivements.
Fr I just want to do a small and quick heist not some 15 minute high security night club heist
You guys are saying that but then Dirty Ice and Diamond District exists...
They also wrote themselves into a corner by not resetting the story.
The story can't go back to be about robbing banks after we fought demons and shit.
Should have just kept the characters but make a new story

It got downvoted to hell for being a mess, as it should be.
There’s a really fun game there, has been since day one. Problem is not enough different stuff to so. Mask system was gutted, weapons were gutted, and in exchange for less missions on launch than most contemporaries we got missions that aren’t as compelling as the simple ones like bank heist to replay. Frankly turning my brain off to fight was half the appeal.
they really should have had more heists similar to 'No Rest for the Wicked' and "Dirty Ice", with better replay factors ala PD2
"there is a really fun game there, its just inferior to payday 2 in almost every way"
not to mention launching without basic quickplay features to help people play the game without long wait times
@@jrk1666 The core is basically an updated version of PD:TH, which is a great idea. Unfortunately, that's all it has going for it. The core. Everything beyond that was either half assed or not even attempted
Yeah I could sit down and do bank heist over and over again in pd2. That map is peak and I need it in pd3.
I'll have to check. )
But as someone who had it on release day on PC (and bought a RTX 3090 in prep), I kinda have to separate criticism of the business practices from criticism of the game as a work of art because by its own merits, the current version of 2077 is 100% a redeemed version of the game.
I still fell like I was scammed by this game. Was expecting a updated and cool new take on payday 2. Instead I got challenge based progression, boring heists and my pre order bonus taking a month to arrive. Paid for early access and couldn't play at all in the three days since the servers were dying. I want to give it another chance but I'm gonna wait for the armour changes to be tested by others.
challenge based progression got changed months ago
Small correction, but the servers were functional during early access. They only exploded after the game came out. Unless they somehow worked for me and not for you? Wouldn't surprise me tbh

@@Benzinilinguine And they can't afford doing that
It is nice to see payday 3 finally start to take a turn for the better.
Stop saying that game was review bombed. Game got what it deserved. As did every other target of community feedback.
The widespread conflation between legitimate bad reviews and "review bombing" is getting out of hand. Especially on steam, a non insignificant amount of people seem to think reviews should be exclusively positive.
I don't think the term always has to be used in a way that insinuates it wasn't deserved. It's simply a lot (a bomb) of reviews all at once.
Review bombing doesn't mean it's not deserved.
No one ever said it wasn’t deserved
Take a skull that kills you in one hit but boosts your earnings if you're successful.

pd2 is considered peak payday in the community, and most people dont like that game either, so i agree with this, its not for everyone nor can it be.

1000 players is sad but yeah it does have an audience
Genuinely, the game would immensely benefit from having more ways to stack damage buffs, and defense buffs. I think the "defense" overhaul with Armor 2.0 is going to mostly solve half of this issue; but the other half is basically figuring out a way to let players use any weapon they want, instead of solely relying upon what's most meta. If you try to go into Overkill difficulty with something like the Spas-12, you are going to be sorely disappointed with its performance compared to anything like the M14, Scar, or the G3, which are absolute machines by comparison.
I once said it would take a year, year and a half if we got unlucky, before payday 3 was good.
We got unlucky.

4 things can happen:
- Payday 3 succeeds in recovering its lost players - the good ending,
- Payday 3 fails in recovering lost players, forcing Starbreeze to shut down the servers and stop further development - the bad ending,
- Payday 3 fails in recovering lost players, but Starbreeze keeps the support up anyway - the neutral ending,
- Payday 3 fails in recovering players, but against all odds, Starbreeze decides to sell the IP entirely - the dice roll ending.

Even if I stopped playing shortly after release and doing all heists on overkill within a few weeks, I'm still hopeful Andreas and Almir can turn things around but its gonna be a pretty massive uphill battle but I believe they can do it especially with how quick they turned some things around when it came to some changes.
To me, Payday 3 is an amazing game NOW
Personally for me I feel like a majority of the heists have crappy payouts so I only play Gold & Sharke which I now started playing in stealth.
Highly doubt this game will ever live up to its predecessor
Payday 3 MUST succeed to keep payday fans as, well... fans.
We need more "free" suits and gloves

That's what makes my blood boil the most, lol. PD2 had such a unique UI/HUD design, it had a distinctive style (albeit a bit cluttery) - and PD3's UI is literally dev build placeholders a year after the launch, like WTF 😂
Varied Preplanning >>> Randomness
Ngl I don't follow this game too much, but I hope it gets something similar to the No Man Sky's development where it started out quite bad but it gets better and better. I always loved PD2 so seeing what is supposed to be its sequel slowly rising despite being like more than 6ft under at some point is quite cool.
And now they´ve basically announced that hte game is in maintenance mode and they moving more of the devs to that other bs project
They're making a dnd game to capitalize on the popularity of a certain overrated crpg. It has as much promise as their the walking dead game had.

I purchased this game when it was discount and it quite cheap ( the whole golden pack equad to base game )

I see the greed.
I see the failure.
I DON'T see the redemption... at all.
I'm still waiting for Payday 3
I feel like there's not enough small scale stuff imo. I liked stealing the tiara, or 4stores, small club.
Gotta admit, they are making me heavily consider buying the game now. I tried it on gamepass and the always online servers crapping out, over priced DLC, and terrible xp system were a giant turn off. Once we get a finished offline mode, it's going on the wishlist.
35:45 I never heard about this, what happened with Vlad's VA?
Hope they give out free copies one day like in Payday 2
Cant wait for payday 4, so i can play all of these mid dlc maps and "returning favorites" in the next game for free.
Don’t dunk the lmg, it’s one of the best primary’s.
@@Bigsean74 I'm not fully, I do appreciate it's well deserved place, I do hope they decide for the funny to add a compact and quick pull mag option just because it's capable of taking mags, turning it into a wild direct upgrade to the CAR-4
From what i heard (take this with a grain of salt). Due to PAYDAY 3 is also on consoles, it's a bit harder to update the game on those platform. Microsoft and Sony wont allow rapid files hotfixes and update like on Steam.
They can't hotfix because of consoles. If anything breaks badly, it's gonna take at least a month minimum for it to maybe be fixed
payday 3 flatlined. Payday 2 is quite literally climbing in player count right now.
