Thanks for making such an honest, candid review, feels far more relatable than watching those 'paid and bought for' car review channels! I love the look and feel of this new gen CR-V. Maybe I'll look into getting one a few years from now, I'm still rocking a Gen 4 CR-V from 2012, love that vehicle too..
This is the first consumer review I've seen of the new CRV hybrid. It's a little expensive but worth it to me. The dealer made a nice profit off your purchase, with accessories, extended warranty, gap insurance, and financing. I'm hoping to avoid those costs, in addition to the markup and dealer add ons. I think it's possible in a buyers' market. Enjoy your awesome ride, I'll wait on mine.😀
@@DrHondaCRV It's impressive you were able to get the first one available. Keep in mind that parts won't be available for the next 9 months. Safe travels.
I just came back and bought another one from Hardin Honda at an excellent price. All other dealers are $8000-$$10000 above MSRP. There is room to negotiate on line only at Hardin Honda try your best. Don’t waste money on extended warranty.
Love mine so far. Do wish they did air cooled seats, the Pano sunroof and spare tire, but I still love it. I paid $46,500 in VA 2/23 for walk out the door price including tax, title and tags, with window visors, running boards, lower door trim, door and cargo sill illumination, rear spoiler, splash guards, cargo cover and tray.
I also have the 2023 Crv Sport Touring. The biggest thing that I noticed is that there are no buttons to program to your garage door opener . This leaves me clamping my plastic garage door opener to the visor of my $50k car. Huge oversight by Honda (in my opinion).
I purchased the HomeLink mirror on College Hills Honda website for $150 and installed myself. It took a bit of fidgeting but i am the least handy guy in the world but was still able to add it myself!@@rubenc61
I’m really thinking about getting this. Thank you for your walkthrough. Here in Vegas we have 7k markups. Will probably wait for market to cool down. I love the gray paint dude might get the same as it looks good in your videos! And again congratulations
Been thinking about that too, but I also read stories where dealers know you were desperate to drive to another city and slap another markup on it 😂 and you being customer who just drove 250 miles you’ll take it or end up wasting your gas / plane ticket The time will come !
Thanks for all your CR-V vids dude. I just picked up my sport touring from Hardin Honda as well. I won't tell you the deal I got, don't want to ruin your day lol. Stoked to try out some of your mods - definitely going to be Hyperdipping the emblems, and maybe the exhaust tips - still not sure whether to do gloss black or shadow black. One thing I did that was pretty easy was I bought the HomeLink rear view mirror and installed myself - so much cheaper than the dealer and it looks much nicer and has the garage opener. Anyways, your vids and especially this one, helped me finally decide on the CR-V over the Tucson and Rav4. Cheers!
Nice! Good to hear. Maybe ill see you there during an oil change haha. Are the markups gone now? Did you manage under MSRP? Its okay. The youtube videos have helped pay for some of the car haha.
Haha glad to hear you are getting some dollars for the vids. The initial offer was MSRP plus about 3k in dealer add ons and 11k for my trade in. I ended up with MSRP (41k for urban grey), the 3k in addons ended up being free, and talked them up to 13k for my trade in. Really happy with the car and averaging 40mpgs over 400 miles. I managed to talk down the dealer from $2,500 worth of addons to about $730. With taxes and all the fees added in the out-the-door price for me was $46,368. This is in Tacoma, WA. It's on order and it should arrive in about 3 weeks. Looking forward to driving it! edit: I did not get an extended warranty, gap insurance, or dealer accessories.
Always deal with out the door price. Always do your own financing. Dealers will add half a point or a point to your financing, that's how they make money on a loan. Never ever ever... do mark ups. Gap? Lol seriously.... If u did a down-payment on a car (cause your could afford the car) Always deal with out the door price. Car price, taxes, registration. Federal trade commission makes it illegal to pay for mandatory add on or mark ups. Walk away if this isn't a good deal. His deal, wasn't a good deal at all. He is a little bit under water on his purchase of a depreciating asset. A car isn't an investment.
@@TopVillain yep, he will have to drive that car until his payments catch up to depreciation. If he tries to get a 2025, he will still owe more than what it is worth and will either need a bigger down payment to offset the amount owed or roll it into a loan. Feels weird saying loan, I don't have any and 100% debt free. True freedom is not being in debt and seeing that bank account get bigger by the month. Anyways back to the car, many people made the same mistake he did and are now under water on loans. Banks will hesitate to repo cars because they are worth less than owed. Dealers call me daily to go test drive but it isn't time yet, in May; they will be desperate for a sale. 57k I can get the new 2023 Pilot Elite here in MA, that’s crazy there. Anyway, I paid 44k after taxes and fees for my 2023 CR-V Sport Hybrid Touring in White, pretty happy so far.
I ordered my CRV Touring Hybrid here in Indiana two weeks ago and have about two more weeks before delivery. I am leasing, as I have a lease on an HRV already through Honda, but I think the total price was $39895. Can't wait to have it in my possession. It seems like a great vehicle.
Wow 57K sounds a lot. I just bought mine 47K out of the door including taxes and everything in San Francisco. Did not add the extended warranty through.
One more quick note. I tested both fwd and awd. On the awd I noticed a slight acceleration hesitation. Driving at 40 mph for example then let off the gas, then step down on it not too heavy and it almost felt like a downshift. The fwd didn't do this. Let me know if you've noticed this or maybe I just imagined it 😀
@@DrHondaCRVI don’t believe you can turn of the AWD on the vehicle, I think he is just asking if your AWD car hesitates when you step on the gas, you probably won’t know since you did not test drive the FWD version.

Thanks for the review. It’s really hard to get an honest review on UA-cam these days. This car is on the top of my list but the Sport Touring is really hard to get. Do you feel it’s worth it. It looks like you’re getting 35mpg. Do u think I should just go with the exl. I know they always inflate the mpg anyways but curious what your thoughts are
Thanks for the review. Sooo expensive I was shocked. Think I’m going to need to keep my HRV I bought used for $15k with 35,000 miles. Can’t justify the cost although I really like this hybrid.
When my only complaint is that it doesn’t have rain sensing wipers for the price point, then I think you’ve got a pretty good car! 😁 The quietest most luxurious ride, comparable to a Mercedes, but it’s a Honda that will take you over 200,000 miles without costing $$$. You just can’t beat it. I drove the Subaru Forrester’s in the Toyota RAV’s, but this one just has a hefty, luxurious look that you can either keep luxe or make it look more rugged, depending on your taste.
I just bought one and love your modification. Where did you get the silver knobs for the vents. You said Amazon but what do they call ? Thanks in advance.
I really like CR-Vs. I’m still driving a 2013 model almost everyday. However, in shopping for a new hybrid to replace my 2008 Prius that gave up the ghost, I ended up purchasing the Hyundai Tucson Blue. The Tucson Hybrid that I got is a great value for the price at $34,435 MSRP with the destination charge. It includes the tow-package, cross-rails, auto-dimming mirror, and illuminated door sills. The Tucson Blue Trim also includes the hands-free power lift gate and wireless device charging. Its specs are similar to the CR-V. The Blue is 2.5 inches shorter, but has 22 more horsepower. Most importantly to me, the Tucson Blue has a 6-speed transmission and 2000 lbs towing capacity. I’ve driven CVTs for years, and I now yearn for a more responsive ride…😀
Just wanted to add that my dealer has no markups. You pay MSRP. And only 6 weeks order time. So I’m excited to get mine too. But this is in Columbus, OH so I’m sure it’s different than CA.

I heard Honda will no longer be adding Blind Spot Monitoring to any more CRVs being built due to lack of parts and only discounting buyers $550 from here on out....have you heard this?
Does it really worth $57,000 without a heads up display, 360 camera, panoramic roof, ventilated seats, automatic folding side mirrors, ambient lighting, etc.?
No. But thats what the markets at. Can’t beat supply and demand. Even luxury hybrids have a 10k markup in so cal. 90k for a audi hybrid Money is worthless these days.
Thank you for taking the time and doing a review of the Hybrid CR-V. My daughter is thinking about trading in her 08 Acura RDX for a CR-V hybrid (doing my dad research). Car prices are out of control now days. It was back in 2019; but, I paid less for my brand new 19 MDX Advance Sport Hybrid. I've noticed my LED headlights don't look as bright if it is raining or the roads are a little wet. It might just be color spectrum of the LEDs being absorbed, scattered, and reflected differently compared to HIDs or Halogen headlights? LEDs are still the way to go; especially, on the Interstate or dark roads.
Would you mind linking the dash cam you got? Also did you get all windows tinted or just match the fronts? My crv should be arriving in end of February and I'm really excited. Great video :)
How is the Bose audio system? Were you able to compare it to the standard stereo system in the Sport trim? That's one of the upgrades that is making me consider the Touring trim, so just curious if you think it's a good sound?
I did compare it! Big difference to me. Much more clear and heavy bass. I turned up the bass setting too. I often blast music. So it was a must for me. The standard is a pioneer system I believe.
@@DrHondaCRV thanks for the reply. I'm pretty much leaning towards the Touring for a couple reasons, the leather seats, the Bose system, the hands free lift gate, and the wireless Android Audio, and lastly it seems like the Touring is more available, they have 10 here in Eugene (on lot and in transit) and Eugene is not a huge city (110,000 population). I think they have only one Sport. Appreciate the feedback, I was hoping the Bose was a good upgrade, I like a good music system!

It looks like you’re getting 35mpg. Do u think I should just go with the exl. I know they always inflate the mpg anyways but curious what your thoughts are
Yea I just wanted top trim. The MPG may not be worth the difference. But i wanted a nice interior and sound system
Thanks for the review. Sooo expensive I was shocked. Think I’m going to need to keep my HRV I bought used for $15k with 35,000 miles. Can’t justify the cost although I really like this hybrid.
Yea thats a good deal. I needed something asap.
I need to understand more about using the the paddles for charging the batteries. Enjoying your reviews.
paddles just change the strength of the regenerative braking
$50K for a CRV???
Have we lost our minds???
With that said, the new CRV is extremely nice.
Haha. Ill say it’s extremely different from previous CRVs. Its not the same car.
What about the brake and gas pedals upgrade?
Thanks for this. Ours doesn't arrive until the last week of February, so very interested in what we have in store for us.
Ill make more!, i know, no consumer content on it yet
Best review yet of this car!! Have you driven in snow yet?
Wow. Thank you 🤗.
I’ll try in about weeks. Ill head up to the mountains.
That color is beautiful.
Thank you!!!
Did you have a camera in the rear view window towards the top. Nice update. Pretty thorough.
Yes i do! Wish i mounted it to the side lol
What about parking camera? Do you need?
When my only complaint is that it doesn’t have rain sensing wipers for the price point, then I think you’ve got a pretty good car! 😁 The quietest most luxurious ride, comparable to a Mercedes, but it’s a Honda that will take you over 200,000 miles without costing $$$. You just can’t beat it. I drove the Subaru Forrester’s in the Toyota RAV’s, but this one just has a hefty, luxurious look that you can either keep luxe or make it look more rugged, depending on your taste.
It does actually. Mine go on with rain.
Thank you!
I just bought one and love your modification. Where did you get the silver knobs for the vents. You said Amazon but what do they call ? Thanks in advance.
Check the link in the description! I listed it.
I haven’t seen any snow test driving yet. The CRV failed at The driving sports tv review (test at extreme condition) due to lack of power😢
Damn :(
You posted two dash cam links. Which ones do you use for what? 😊 thanks ! Love ur videos
Thank you!, I use the 4K one for the front and right side, and the other one in the back
Good job on this update video. Here in Canada the Top Touring Hybrid Trim is $50k.
Link for the hood deflectors
Better value than the CRV for sure
really helpful, thank you!!
The tint is fire! What percentage did you get?
50 on front and 35 on front sides. Back is factory!
Just wanted to add that my dealer has no markups. You pay MSRP. And only 6 weeks order time. So I’m excited to get mine too. But this is in Columbus, OH so I’m sure it’s different than CA.
Jack, which dealership?
@@goranyordanoff3638 the dealership is Hugh White Honda in Columbus Ohio
What is a point of a hood deflector?
What % tint did you do on the front windows?
Why would you have a dash cam in the front of the rear when they come with front and rear facing cameras?
Thanks for the video, are you able to share where you bought cross bars? My car should be in by end of month and want to add them as well.

These two stores have them. I got mine from the second link. Shipping was less.
Did you notice the back up camera is grainy
I heard Honda will no longer be adding Blind Spot Monitoring to any more CRVs being built due to lack of parts and only discounting buyers $550 from here on out....have you heard this?
Wow. That would suck. I haven’t heard that
I went to a Honda dealer this weekend and the sales guy informed me of the BSM parts shortage. Didn't know when it would get resolved
90k for a audi hybrid
Money is worthless these days.
You make a good point. This Honda seems nice I have to admit, but very little bang for your buck.
I’ve noticed the same. The roads are much darker in the rain. Tint doesn’t help.
Hey, where did you get the front air deflector? Thank you in advance
Would you mind linking the dash cam you got? Also did you get all windows tinted or just match the fronts? My crv should be arriving in end of February and I'm really excited. Great video :)

Heres the two i have, worked for my last incident. So i got them again.
Nice! Congratulations
Great upload!
Thank you!
If they dont have touring models in lot. Check the high trim civics. Its the same bose system.
I had a 2020 CR-V by far my favorite Honda so excited about the re-design I am getting rid of my passport because its pricey but i am hoping to get one of these in march
you'll love it!
Is the interior roof grey or the light beige?
Black
Where'd you get the top rails and that black cover at the end of the hood from?
Sons Honda rail, Hardin Honda deflector
Do you have the name of the part on Amazon or the Amazon link for the silver caps for the A/C vents?
amzn.to/3WnqtYt
Love those! Thanks for the link!
Does it have a custom mode like the accord, or is it just normal, sport and, eco?
What about tinting front side windows
Done! Watch newer videos
did you add tent to the windows or is that factory tent on the windows
added tint, 3m ceramic ir
Does the rear view mirror console have a power connector for a dash cam, or do you have to run the wires into the upholstery? Nice review, BTW. I’ve been thinking about test driving this car, along with the new Accord Hybrid.
Thank you! I can do a video on how i installed the dash cams. Its pretty quick. Lines under the panels. No power on mirror.
@@DrHondaCRV would love to see this too. I didn’t want to just start pulling at plastics without knowing. My civic the rubber was pliable enough to tuck the wires. But doesn’t seem the same for the CRV.
@@briq4409 check out my latest video!
It is definitely pliable. You can stick it in the crease. 5 min install.
Nice exterior color and seats color. I got a silver exterior touring hybrid trim.
Nice congrats!
This is a great video. All the other videos just touch on specs.
Thank you 🙏. Means a lot
Do you have a link to the Amazon for the knobs for the vent

US$57000 translates to CDN$76342 that’s kinda eye-popping! They list at $48890 and no mark up. My 5yr lease came in at CDN$44460 with $22000 buy back. I enjoyed your review and I’m enjoying my stock Sport Touring too!
Well... to be very honest, he got hosed on his deal. Seriously.
Yeah, when I built it at the dealer and with trade in and taxes (my trade was $4,500) it would hae been $52K Canadian - $800/mo for 84 months. Decided to pass for now.
Hybrids do their best mileage in town driving. Highway speeds bring your MPG down in a hybrid.
Yea. Unless its stop n go traffic on a freeway. Then i hit 40mpg.
What if you place the phone face down on the wireless charger?
I just ordered this for 45k including taxes and fees in New York. Same color inside out. I actually thought the Grey was a little lighter. Can you point me to where you got your cargo and rear seat protection?
I got it from the college honda website
Wow. 10k less. Congratulations haha
@@DrHondaCRV Thanks. Do you have links to where you got the accessories?

Awesome review. Thanks for posting
Thank you
Great review! Definitely considering either the Honda hybrid as my next car. A bit afraid of the Toyota Hybrid because of cable corrosion issues they have been having and not being addressed properly. Very interested in the dash cams you have installed throughout the car. Do you have links to the products you bought and/or videos talking about those? Thanks a lot!

Ill make a video. I personally like this brand because it did an excellent job recording my last incident. They also use Sony sensors.
The quality and feel of this car is far superior to a rav4 hybrid in my opinion. Also the rav4 design is from 4-5 years ago.
Is that most Toyota hybrids having that issue? RAV4 Camry etc
Great review! Thanks!
Thanks for the review. Waiting on mine with the same exterior trim. Thoughts on chrome delete for window trim? Maybe for those front chrome accents?
Was thinking about that. The chrome looks nice. But im gonna start blacking out the emblems. And if that looks good. Maybe full chrome delete.
@@DrHondaCRV thanks for the reply. Looks great, I’ll keep watching for updates.
Hi, Question: Will normal wiper blade replacements (i.e. Rain-X) work with the washer nozzle being attached to the blade?
Should work fine. The nozzle is on the outer part. The holder.
Hi! I’m expected mine any day now! Would you be ok with posting where you got your aftermarket parts? I’ve been having a hard time finding parts. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
www.collegehillshonda.com/category/6thgen-honda-crv-accessories.html
Also try the sons honda website. You need part numbers. Which you can find on this college honda site
Is the bug shield screw into hood, I see all those screws? I just got mine yesterday and ordered this part.
Its placed with adhesive pads. Make sure they lay flat on the hood. They installed mine wrong the first timw
does this have the rear camera washer like they get in canada?
It’s supposed to activate when you use the rear window washer.
not a camera one, but i can check, i noticed the back window has one
Love Hondas and their quality build. Though they are pricey. I may just buy a TSLA model 3 for less.
Dont do it. They fall apart
ที่ปัดน้ำฝนคือ..ตัวปัญหาของฮอนด้าเลย..ซื้อ 2 รุ่น..โดนทั้ง2รุ่นคือมันยากขนาดนั้นหรือ..แค่สงสัย
Does the touring trim have full auto up and down on all 4 windows??
Yup
Those spraying wiper blades are 4x the cost of replacements compared to just replacing the rubber inserts.
I heard the AC/Heat is not that strong ? Any opinion
The AC is great. The heat takes 3-5 min to get up to toasty. But i always feel hot and turn it off after 5 min. Im not in snow tho
Can you provide me a link where you bought the plastic to cover the back seat.

Hey man, quick question for you. Did you add the rear spoiler or did it come stock? I just placed an order with my local dealer and tried to order the spoiler but was told it came stock on the Sport Touring models. Can you confirm?
The sport tailgate is not stock. You get the short twilgate stock
