Dave was a genius. The first ten minutes of so far so good is the best metal ever put to disc. That's what heroin and kickboxing does to a person. His guitar right at the beginning after the nuke drops sounds like artillery fire. Then that riff when the first verse comes in is just so slamming. 'Einstein said we'd use rocks on the other side'

Its criminal how many metal fans and even Megadeth fans overlook this album or disregard it completely even. It has imo the greatest metal song EVER in In My Darkest Hour and other gems. One of the best Album openers ever, A great closing track, pure thrash heaven in Liar and then of course this monster track. Think the worst tracks is obviously Anarchy and 502 is so so....but 75% of it is nothing short of superb! Its certainly my fave Deth album! 🤘

For the verse riff 1; does dave not play all the power chords on the A string? I've watched the That One Night DVD and it looks like that's what he does. It seems impractical sliding, but I'm pretty sure that's what he does.

Hey dude great chops... I'm curious to know why you swapped out the livewire's for the thrash factors? I ask as im an Ausssie Dave fan (who isn't fkn musical genius) & i recently acquired a Old stock LTD DV8 R from Korea & am contomplating the thrash factors, not that im not lovin the livewires just the tone shift requiring the changing of batteries is starting to wear a bit thin. Cheers dude appreciate your feedback

My favorite pick for Megadeth riffs are the standard sh-2 tb-4 set which I’ve got in my Rhoads RR5.
I was never much a fan of the livewires as they seemed a little muddy to me. Either way the TF’s or JB’s are better imo

It’s a very cool album but I haven’t learned too much of it.
If you’ve swapped out pups before there’s nothing new but you’re going to need 500k pots to swap out. The switch and jack can be reused but don’t wire in the middle lug on the jack.
Seymour Duncan wiring diagrams are really clear

Sometimes when learning Megadeth songs on guitar and im learning Dave's parts I think to myself "how the hell did he even come up with that weird part?" Quite often with his stuff lol just weird ways he would put things together, and when you play it slowly it doesnt sound right. But once you speed it up then its like ohhh, there ya go! Lol now it sounds right. Sorry, im not the best at trying to explain it because Im clueless when it comes to technical guitar terms of what im playing, I just hear songs by ear and sound them out by trial and error but was never good at understanding all the technical aspects of guitar

They look like they're just floating in front of the head like that is there some type of bracket that you melt them two?
