Just some food for thought. When I am saying DJI is no longer relevant what I am meaning is this.
DJI have done close to nothing to resolve all the bugs and issues in the current FPV system, they did a few good updated that extended range and added 50mbps mode however there are many bugs and issues that remain. There is zero questions the system is not good or one of the best however DJI has not integrated with FPV, it tried to make FPV integrate with it at launch with its DJI HDL protocol for the faster RC link, they created a limited OSD that did not natively work in BF, Inav or Ardupilot and they ignored V2 users major bugs.
So we all know DJI likes pushing the limits of tech and its likely something new will be very much better again with 1080P, more range, may be even 4 K recording however at what cost will that be, a new custom OSD again that's not compatible with the flight stacks, more bugs, more issues not resolved. I have been seen MANY released from then since 2013, I helped run the Facebook groups and beta tested for them as well. I am under no illusions what they do well however I also know what they do badly.
The Walksnail system does not actually need to be better, it just need to be close enough and if they take onboard the feedback from the community and deliver then what ever benefits DJI could bring may simply not be worth it.
Up to now our choices were limited, with the advances in HDZero and now this new system we are no longer held to ransom if they deliver on it.

if they fix all those things why would we buy v3, fix all them things and more in v3 and people will want that
Well, I had heard from a MAD guy that dji is famous for releasing products too early and fixing issues only reluctantly
OR
when a heavy guy jumps onto dji's small toe raising his voice with a famous 'don't buy until dji has fixed it'
Considering that - over the time - he was and is right it might be true that dji or better its current fpv system is no longer that relevant / important for the industry / hobby / market, but
if they might not fix the current bugs they might be working on fpv goggles ^2 (i mean goggles+ or goggles V2+ looks a bit outdated compared to brand new goggles in square goggle ^2)
In the second dji might release those goggles ^2 they could be very relevant pushing the bars a bit more up cause they tend to improve quite well.
And considering the current dji fpv system is a pretty ripe and long running product at the level of Mavic 2 pro.
Finally my guess is that dji might beat all the fpv competitors cost wise cause they sell their goggles and air units to the broadest audience from dji drone owners to diy builders and even glider pilots.
Finally we need to see the other products to arrive and give them 6 months to ripe to get a real evaluation or review considering that dji needs 6 months to get the software and firmware useable as planned.
orca and hdzero and all the others have to proof the range, latency, wearability, clearness of ui, visibility, openess (like analog support) and built quality under mass production.
dji has shown us quite often that they can deliver and ramp up production.
And for hdzero things can become a bit more adventurous without its own production plant cause just 1 supplier can ruin the product who exchanges a part internally qualitywise and Carl could be ruined if such part would show its missing quality 9 months later when he had sold thousands that might needed to be fixed by soldering.
I will and can wait for a more convincing offer from dji cause I will stay with just 1 set of goggles and staying with a dji drone makes it easier to justify dji goggles and those air units.
I would not spend 500 or 600 $ € £ for hdzero / orca if I have dji fpv goggles.
but at the end dji pushes the competition and competitors like Carl push dji.
That is the good sign cause for me the overall market size and turnover looks like too small to attract competitors and new products.
It is tiny - compared to the drone market.
Even the growth rate in last year was not there.
So I wonder how many units orca, carl, and the other 2 new kids on the block will have to sell to reach break even.
@@typxxilps this is where i stand, without dji there would be no fatsnail, dji is the tech innovator, without them even carl said we wouldn't have hdz, dji proved it can be done and everyone is playing catchup, i dont want a catchup product i want the next iteration, the only one going to push the boundaries her is dji cos the have the resources and capabilities, copy cats that includes hdz are not creating anything magical, dji created the magic and people hating on dji are fools including the MAD man, with out dji we would have analogue and i wouldnt be in the hobby like many others, dji still acording to greg hold over 50% of the marked and its possible they will once again hold the crown 👑 but they have to produce the product yet so who knows its anyones race 🏁 like i say dji are not out of the race yet and they may still pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Totally agree. In fact, the sooner and more completely we can get off DJI, the better off our entire community will be. I'm still all DJI at this point myself, but if one or both of Fatshark/Walksnail or HD0 come out with at least an equivalent system, I'll be willing to accept some limited technical compromises. If it means not losing the entire investment in my gear the moment DJI orphans it, I'll accept a slightly smaller FOV for example. Losing unfixed showstopper bugs year after year, firmware lockdowns, NFZ's, activations that don't work, complete redesigns every version with no reuse of existing gear possible, and etc., won't make me shed any tears either. I'm super glad to see both options appear on the horizon, and if they deliver product, I plan to support them too.
I think saying "is DJI relevant?" or "does DJI matter?" is pure hyperbole... I've been an advocate for DJI FPV since the start. They gave us something nobody else thought was possible and all these others systems wouldn't exists without it. WalkSnail is literally an exact copy, even if their claim that they just purposely made it look like DJI is true (which is highly unlikely) it's still an exact copy.
Now, do I want WalkSnail and HDZO to be successful? Absolutely. I wish they came up with the DJI system to being with because DJI is a horrible company from the west point of view. If they can match DJI performance I'll happily jump ship, even though the update and community feedback response issues that others have with DJI don't bother me personally. However, if I said you have to put your money on the company that will come up with the next big FPV revolution, you would be a fool to back anyone other than DJI. So while I do in fact begrudge DJI the money, I know that it could also help bring about the next big innovation in our hobby at the same time.
The hd zero goggles are sounding better and better the more i hear about them.
but the image is still not better than the ones you tried in your review and you didnt have anything good to say about hdz, you dont race so what would be the point, if you get them free for review great but if you dont are you going to ignore your own review and buy them anyway, you didnt see them as much better than analouge at that time. not hating on hdz i use it for racing just an observation on your previous encounter with the system
It’s worth noting these will likely look better in analog than any other of the high end simply because of the de interlacing alone. Then add in the option for digital. There is a lot to like there. Great to see you here Bot man I hope your well mate. We are as always honoured by your presents 😀
good point and bot loves the old analogue but that big old analogue bay hooked on the side is rather janky idea, the goggles are big enough without a brick on the side

I built a brand new clean freestyle 4S rig just for the HDZ 1W vtx and it rainbowed 🌈 on the second flight less than 200 feet away. Total video loss.
I see two futures: Either Walksnail releases a standalone VRX, in which case the HDZero goggles can do Walksnail, HDZero AND analog, making them basically the best FPV-community-friendly all-round digital/analog FPV goggle - or Walksnail doesn't release a standalone VRX, in which case they are just as closed as DJI, making the HDZero goggles the best FPV-community-friendly all-round analog/digital FPV goggle. I mean, just saying.
Can people notice 4 milliseconds? HDZero seem a little more thought out than walksnail/fatshark. The opensourceness of this will get people behind it and the closed ones won't be able to keep up.
Yeh, I hope WalkSnail release a VRX and make a successful business because they clearly have a talent. Even if that talent is simply the ability to rip-off DJI tech, it's valuable because I still expect DJI to be the real innovators in this industry.

DJI looks clearly better for bandos. I've been waiting for an upgrade from my Dominator V3s. Almost went DJI so many times. FatSnail doesn't do analog so is a hard pass. All this said, I want to go all in on the HDZERO goggles because Carl is the most aligned with the FPV community and I want him to succeed. I think the world needs this technology beyond FPV and it is about time someone get it done. Maybe we can finally have wireless HDMI for our media centers, easy remote camera monitors, deploy able computer vision robots. let's do this

Exactly! I'm not willing to give up my analog fleet! This is the only new goggle I would consider to replace my HD3s.
Two big things though .. 1) no matter how good it is, most people who've invested 1k in dji won't switch for full price and 2) penetration of dji is so stellar, that without the equivalent penetration, dji v1 will still be better for most
I stared off with the hd zero system as far as digital the got the Dji system and am blown away by it , I have 4 hd zero cameras and vtx , and all of them look like shit compared to dji , check out my homemade fpv cockpit with the dji system hooked to it
@@jimmytheriot8978 DJI is so good when me and friend do team bases Kart racing I install the DJI into my helmet and they watch along in the pit. It's made so much possible.

These googles looks sweet, this is what happens when the guy that designed the chips for analog fpv and the chips for OLED displays has the desire to make the best goggles. TBS is also adding the option to use CRSF as the backpack as well, Trappy talked about it in the last livestream.

Reviewers dont care about dji because they can get and try other systems but normal people that have invested in dji will most probably not be able to invest somuch money in a few more years so.. some people still care about dji...
As long as DJI cares about you as a customer I think you're good for at least a few years more with your DJI setup

Think about it this way. There are only two ways to do a FPV digital system. Broadcast or re-transmit. HDZero is a broadcast system and DJI/Avatar/Connex are retransmit systems. All the re-transmit systems look very similar and all have variable latency. I think if you are going to put a re-transmit system on the market then it'll look and behave like DJI. The Connex system was bulky and expensive. DJI just happened to be be first to show how to miniaturize a re-transmit system. Once others saw how they did it the cat was out of the bag and so it's not a stretch to learn from them and make your own based on that.

Dji have done close to nothing just the best system, now we are specting some other fatshark digital intent that has already issues and needs to be fixed to finally defeat DJI. As I see it, let's buy vistas and air units before get out of stock, because right now DJI is the best digital system and it isn't worth it to spend 780 usd or more in something uncertain.
I nearly bought some DJI goggles v2 as my entry into digital fpv. Then I saw your video about the forced firmware update, ending .15 & 'don't do it.' This triggered 'red-flag,' look elsewhere, & subscribed to your channel. I found an unused Shark-byte 5.1 VRX, and prior to buying, I reached out to HDzero. Within 24 hrs they replied, confirming it was a worth-while buy at £145 & that they would continue support for them with firmware updates. Fantastic service. So, I'm looking forward to using these with an unopened 1W freestyle VTX; they are both arriving next week. If I get a year out of them, I'll probably move up to the full goggles once they've been out for a while & hopefully, like you say, combined with a walksnail module, if they become a compatible add-on. Thank you for such a great series on the progress of digital fpv. Brilliant !!!
When I first started FPV we were using wireless security cameras and LCD screens. I thought I was big man on campus when I got the FatShark base model and 5.8 ground station. We thought HD video from FatShark was just around the corner. Fast forward 15 years, and FatShark still hasn't hit the pavement yet with a working set of HD googles.

To say dji no longer matters, is pre-mature and irresponsible. let's wait and see IF walksnail actually delivers before we crown them king. (So far, we've seen more latency with the 1080p link than dji's 720p link. The walksnail/FS 720p link similar to dji's in the vidz we've seen so far). Right now, dji is the only company of the HD options that has actually delivered. Yes there are some stuff that we'd like and haven't got yet, but nonetheless still the best quality HD video system out there (unless your a racer and need HD zero's low latency option). I'll always be happy with my dji system as it's the best system to date of the HD systems; and even if the others surpass them, and dji never improves anything (highly unlikely), the current quality and overall experience of dji can't be ignored and good enough for most pilots, with exception of racers who want that hd zero fixed low latency vs dji's variable latency. dji's currently the king of the HD block. Don't get it twisted. And for the record, I own the og byte frost system, plus the current shark byte/hd zero system, in addition to my dji system....Not a dji fanboy, just like flying with the best HD system to date.
What you have to understand though is DJI do nothing for FPV other than dump the product and run. There are many issues not resolved. Many not even acknowledged. My point is of Walksnail can make basically the same but listen to the user base then DJI have lost their advantage in FPV and frankly why would anyone choose them. They could make the system better tomorrow but unless DJI start to listen then it’s pointless.
@@MadRC they've already done wonders for FPV. They brought HD to FPV community, when it's been said by even the top dogs in FPV that HD would never come to FPV. All the rest HD sysetms are still chasing them. They've already done many FPV'ers favors by delivering a solid quality HD link to FPV, where it was never thought could be done. As mentioned, even if they didn't release another update, it's still the best HD system out there, until proven otherwise, which hasn't been done yet. And to your point, HD zero listens to the FPV community, BUT it's still not quite the system that dji is to date. Again, back to my point, it's irresponsible and pre-mature for you to say DJI no longer matters. They've have already made their footprint in FPV history and can't be denied, regardless of peoples perceptions that they don't listen to FPVers. Think about it before you reply. And no reply is necessary, just saying. Don't get caught up with they're not listening to FPVers. As mentioned, it's the best overall HD system to date with all others still chasing them period. Keep up the good work Mad, but let's be responsible with what you say. You have people who actually look at you as an influencer. I'll listen to all, but proof is in the pudding, when you fly all the systems and have been for years. I fly them for myself and know what delivers the best HD quality system. I don't race, so don't need hd zero.
@@MadRC dji most likely ditched support for the old system cos they were working on the v3, now if they gave us canvas mode for example that would affect sales of the new product release, leave people wanting more, produce more and people will want it, could that be the model by which they are working
@@djdubz I actually said I’m not sure they are still relevant, I also made it very clear IF Walksnail deliver. I’m not sure how you can say I’m being irresponsible as it’s an opinion.
That opinion is based on years of using all of these system apart from Walksnail, what’s also happens when DJI end the current system and there is no more AU. We are hearing that is looking possible. This is not what’s about the best IQ , the best package or overall behaviour in flight. Being able to get support, updated and parts all comes into that. It’s always been a concern that DJI will walk away. I’m not sure if you know but I ran the DJI FPV Facebook groups for them, actually created that groups and know exactly how DJI operate as a bunnies and have been warning as such for many years. DJI make some the best products on the Parker but be under no illusion they will move on , leave bugs or screw users over if they they decide they are done on something. I have seen this time and time again and as I said FPV is no one to welcome or forget that behaviour. While DJI was new to FPV those of us on the camera drone side as I have been for many years have seen this time and time again.
As I said I said enough ifs, buts and maybe in this to sink a battle ship.
Dji have some of the best engineers in the world. People don't understand they can make a new version to destroy everyone again whenever they want. Dji staff got bored and are now revolutionising the 3dprinting industry.

Thanks alot for the update! For me the good news is that we already have more than one option for HD. However the better new is that soon we will have HDZero goggles which are my personal priority!! Because I want to move with those who support and feel the FPV community, rather than those who turn their back and leave whenever they would like to.

I purchased the Fatshark Scout HD goggle to give HDZero a try w/o committing to much money. I am very impressed with the product and even more so with Carl. I hope HDZero continues to produce the module for budget minded pilots and it would be really cool if they released a budget goggle, like the Scout HD. That would allow for people to dip their feet in to try HDZero out. If the new goggles live up to the promise I will certainly buy them.

Fatsnail just need to do one thing to make it a game changer - Work with existing air units and vistas. Its very simple.

dji will wait till fatsnail gets released and make sure theirs is better otherwise why would they release them if everyone is buying fatsnail, dji allways seem to come out on top so they may suprise us with something better than fatsnail, after all the are out to make money if its not better than fatsnail whos gonna buy it, so dont count dji out of the race yet they always seem to find a way to end up on top.
The problem is DJI probably is about to release the next great thing that makes the other systems look old.
If Walksnail or Fatshark make their goggles backwards compatible with the original vista and air units, they'll sell quite a few goggles just on the basis of this, as it will work with their newer system, but also keep our existing dji stuff in action.
If Walksnail make a vrx module, their will be quite a few who buy HDzero goggles and slap on the Walksnail vrx for the best of both worlds like you say Ian.
Now if Walksnail make a vrx for their new system that is also backwards compatible with the original vista an air units, I 'm buying this along with the HDzero goggles and basically having one set of goggles to rule all ecosystems, including analogue!

Unfortunately the fatshark dominator will not be compatible with DJI air units. You need to switch out the VTXes in your fleet which will be even more money than the goggles alone :/

Thank you Ian! I really hope Carl has added to option to use custom diopters. The adjustable focus is great and all for some people, but leaves a whole set of people who are out of the goggles range of focus. That would be huge bummer for me if the new goggles don't have an easy way to add diopters.
what people that do this for the love/passion fail to understand is that in no world will any other system be used other than DJI for commercial applications. eg if you ever want to go on a film set, use a drone for engineering/construction or military applications - its DJI.

RP-SMA would be nice. Could use all the same antennas we already have.
SMA like the other HDZero gear. RPSma is usually only used on transmitting devices
This seems to be one of the best products I have seen since a long time in Fpv. The fact, that Carl is listening to the community and that it’ll be open source is a big win. I guess I’ll get one in any case to support Carl because it seems to be the way Fpv is a winner. Yurt like with elrs
Ive said this again and again: sadly I cant spend 700 usd on a videosystem. I just hope they will just not just make the tech better, but also cheaper
What Walksnail and Fatshark should do is make their new VTX backwardly compatible with DJI headsets, but make sure their googles don’t pair to Air Units and Vista units.
Most DJI pilots (including the five I know) are not going to sell up and defect to Fatshark anytime soon, we all pretty much agree that we would only switch when Vista units become unavailable and we have none left. We are not their target audience. But we will always be in the market for new VTXs and if the new Dominator VTX pairs to DJI headsets, then you’ve got and instant customer base already setup, then when our old DJI headsets break and aren’t in warranty anymore, then and only then would we consider buying the Fatshark googles.
That’s my POV anyway…..
I just got HDZero 1W VTXs and an VRX on the HDO2 to switch over from DJI to HDZero. DJI-latency is ruining my flights. I flew HDZero on a friends Quad and he's building his Quads similar to how I build. It was amazing, great System!
Those fatshark goggles would fly off the shelves if they end up working with air units & vistas. The DJI goggles v1/v2 would be inferior then. I can't imagine a better business model if fatshark wants to sell tens of thousands of these.
It would be nice if the HDZero goggles have USC-C/Power Delivery on it. This would help future proof them at this will pass HD video and could be powered from the same port.
... and if Walksnail can offer compatibility of new air units with V1 and V2 goggles and compatibility of new goggles with air units and vistas. That will be most important for me and probably many many other pilots using V1&V2 and maybe have numerous air units and vistas in numerous models.

Normally I'd agree with you. Except this iteration of technology, the former developers of analog are using THE SAME digital technology, which will lead to "open source" and then WE, THE USERS, DECIDE WHAT WE WANT AND OUR COMMUNITY makes it happen for us.....have you heard of Betaflight or Edge TX? What about canvas mode? 😋
@@sunsetpark_fpv I know how to use Betaflight , don't know too much about edgeTX. I tried to program an analog controller and spent a month doing so and finally gave up so I'm not a fan of analog. You have explained a lot to me already but I still think Dji could come up with something like robust return to home built into an FPV quad maybe built right into an air unit type of thing. In my lame opinion I think FPV quads should be less complicated. Happy flying
I gave up buying anything new from DJI a year ago. They just don't listen and they don't respond but still expect us to pay premium prices. NO MORE!!
I’m hoping for some type of prescription lens slots so people with eyesight outside the adjustable diopters can see using them.
One thing about Orqa pilots is I can see perfect because they have slots for additional lenses.
HDZero is definitely the Go-to System.

So I can use them with my PC, fly a flight simulator, and screen share type wifi stream my pc screen on the goggles
I know we don't all live in the UK, but I am guessing we're not the only ones that practice on a flight sim, on a wet day. And would like to practice with goggles on.

is Carl the only dev really listening to the community - hes got my support and I am really excited for the future of HDzero. I am a DJI fpv user (fleet of 8 Vista FPV aircraft, and some older analogue). If there is no cross compatibility with DJI/walksnail I am all in on HDzero for new builds, if there is cross compatibilty with DJI/walksnail then I would prob be interested in the fatshark/walksnail... I need to wait this out and enjoy my gear over the summer, lets see what happens.
These HDZero goggles are gonna be the ones to buy 👍

Would love to have a slim VRX for people who literally just bought an Orqa v2. Existing Shark Byte module adds so much weight I ended up just having a downlink tripod so I don't have that weight on my head.

What advice would you have for someone just getting into drones. I don’t own one yet and have been contemplating buying an Emax Tinyhawk 3 kit. I’m also tempted to just wait, see what DJI releases in their new goggles and then determine which digital setup to buy along with a drone that I really want, either 5” or maybe Protek 35 or similar. I mostly want something towards video recording with the ability to do freestyle on occasion. There is just so much that is currently changing in the industry that I’m not quite sure where to start.
I figure with the emac I could play and learn and also use the remote with a simulator.
If I ever go digital I’m going HDZero

What are exactly the rights dji has (utility and/or design patents) on their system (I would be surprised if they do not have any)?
If they have functionnally patented their system, no matter how competitors reproduce it by blunt copying or reproducing from scratch the patented system, the competitors could/would be considered as infringing dji’s rights, i am sorry to say.
Does anyone know what rights (patent numbers) are at stake, please?
Awesome video, thanks mate! Could you have a look in your crystal ball? Do you think there will be any chance to use the current dji VTX (air unit and vista) with one of the upcoming systems? Probably with a software hack or something... I have a bunch of dji VTX's (10+) and I don't feel like exchanging all these units but I would love to swap to an open-source system. Would appreciate to hear your thoughts!
This year is going to be beggining of digital revolution in fpv. I love that hdzero gives ability to modify software of gogles it seems that they are first to do it, this may allow for quite interesting things.
Why should DJI care though? The custom built FPV market share is most probably now smaller than the whole DJI FPV drone market share.
They are in it for money and they clearly don't think there is enough. I'm sure if they had some competition they would maybe consider getting back into it.
I totally agree with your opinion. Thank you for this well made video. Yet I see one big reason to stay with DJI (at least for the moment). Many people have their entire fleet equipped with Vista's and Air Unites with no hope of cross-compatibility (correct me if I'm wrong). When DJI drops a competitiv new pair of goggles which are backward compatible it's probably hard for many peoples to step away from DJI and buy an entire new system. What's your opinion?
As some one who has sunk alot of money with dji over the past year with vista's I'm interested in the hdzero. If he delivers what it looks like it's a no Brainer.

Like you I think it would be great if Carl puts the case design on GitHub. It would be great to collaborate on a community project. I think HDZero + support for Analogue with interlacing support & Walksnail would be something very special, may be the perfect goggles. I really want audio on my drone too… that would make it perfect for me…

I already have a hdo2 and the shark byte addons. One of my 5" drones is HdZero. Im happy with it and im looking forward to the whole open source topic. I think I will drop the hdo2 for the HdZero goggles for sake of compactness and featureset
Compared to DJI HD, HDZero's do not seem that impressive, at least to me. So, if walksnail actually makes a VRX that can work with other goggles (ideally Orqa), I'd buy the VRX module and goggles in a second as I'd love to get away from "proper" DJI if I can (and would like a nice pair of analog goggles, too, which I don't have)..
Of course, if it turns out they're just going to create another closed system, HDZero is what I'll probably do considering it is better than analog. Regarding the walksnail "ripoff" factor, it's hard to know what they have or haven't cloned until a proper firmware analysis can be performed. Like others have said, I'm guessing that it's just a matter of time until that happens and it's figured out.
The HD Zero will render glass to glass 1080P? Current system is 720P - no? What is the bitrate?

It would be interesting if they could implamaent an inbuilt analog receiver, i wonder if he could somehow create a 2 way sma connector and have one side to the digital receiver and one to the analog, than theres a button switching off each module when not using. That would be next level, but i don't think it's achiveable
i currently own some fatshark HDO'S with a rapidifre, and im looking to go digital. i have a hdzero vtx but i cant get a vrx and it seems like everybody is replicating dji? so should i go dji for now until hdzero is ready ? im honestly unsure and im looking to get into fpv professionally and anolog isnt the best thing to show a client

I'm surprised people are so willing to give walksnail a pass on this one just because of some stuff they have said. It would be one thing -like hd zero- to create a system and it be amazing ; totally a different story when a company creates a dji style air unit when they literally have the plans and hardware from dji to make cameras for them through caddex. Like "hey guys as you know we handle dji equipment all the time, but oh we also made something just like it. We didn't copy them though we promise" how ridiculous. If it don't add up - it doesn't add up. End of story
The proof will be in the hardware. We'll have those things apart minutes after the orders go out.
To be clear I have said IF they can. There is no free pass for anyone here. Anything they get wrong will be covered as much as DJI and others. I will scream it from the rooftops if they have stollen or copied DJI code or tech. However having let the dust settle now my thoughts are they deserve a chance to do what they have said they will do.
The HD zero does sound like a good option with video in and video out well that would make it much more than a fpv system for me i could use it to watch movies or use it on my computer xbox ps5. No video in on the new fatsharks may make me go with the HD zero system can't wait to see reviews about all the new goggles coming out
If walksnail is doing what they are saying, they might be the big winner in the end. The market is not big enough for 3-4 systems and we also loose the “watching friends flying” aspect.

If walksnail isn't compatible with DJI airunit's and Vista's i don't know how many current DJI pilots will switch. So DJI still matters in that case.
Yes 100%. I think my point is getting lost. That point is if someone can outdo DJI then we simply won’t need to bother with what ever they do. The big one with DJI is the lack of support and development

If the P1 is used in more than one devices then technically it is an FPGA as it can be programmed for its specific use case. Unless the P1 has many variants.
If it doesn't and its just programmed then it might be possible to figure out how that's done and make modifications. That would be insane!
Is your phone an FPGA? It can also be programmed for different use cases.
@@Chris-xe5ts No it's not. It's an SoC based of off a standardised set of instructions. Which is why one ARM CPU can run multiple ARM compatible OSs. Same goes for x86.

fatshark has to be one of the worse by ignoring the community and saying they are wrong . DJI just needs to make a solid product. They cant focus on niche markets needs when their mission objective is for everyone to have a drone just like everyone has phones.
its good to cut out the middle man like fatshark by supporting the manufacturers themselves
