Lindsay Ell is really great at these videos man! You can tell she’s put the time in on her instrument and rig. Been following her career for a little while now. Great guest on your channel!! 🤙🏻🎸🎼
Marty, love these vids with Lindsay. That girl could play Happy Birthday on guitar, and I'd watch it lol. So freaking beautiful and talent coming out her ears.
It was a bit misleading for me for different reasons. I thought it was a repost of a different pedals video (overdrive) that was done earlier with the same title. (Had to read it 3 times to catch the difference in pedals.)
I wish mine would actually "crank up". Then again, I'm always on the 1w setting and at bedroom volumes. I'm betting if I cranked up the volume and used the 15w setting, I might be saying something different. I've yet to crank it so... Putting reverb at max at 1w bedroom levels just doesn't give you much. At all. I even upgraded to a 3 spring short tank from a 2 spring.
@@brettweber6132 I need to try that. I also forget that I have decent ear protection here, also. So I could just throw those on and crank it up! I might have to give this a try soon. Thanks!
Reverb has been my favourite effect and the only one I use beside distortion since I bought a Fender amp. But I never took the time to learn about different kinds of reverb. Thank for explaining reverbs Lindsay!
Lindsay is awesome.... note she uses a modified picking style which is the sign of a very seasoned professional player. Stumbled on this channel looking at Wampler pedals, but glad I found the channel. I will be recommending it to any beginner guitarists (hell even some not so beginners) 👍🏻👍🏻
2:32 Every time someones starts a song in B minor, I tend to start singing the verse of John Mayer's Daughters. "I...know a girl, She puts the colour... Inside of my world."
Ad: why most people don’t get good at guitar is because they try to learn off UA-cam, which seems like a great place but doesn’t work. *literally an ad on UA-cam*
Rocknroll 52295 yup. I get on every dang video I watch. Like I’ll be trying to stream The Rolling Stones album Undercover and they tell me that and bruh, Marty Music, James James, and Andy Guitar are great.
Snowblind yeah I agree bro I’m pretty much self taught and their tutorials still help me when there’s at particular song I want to learn and it’s funny these ads say that about UA-cam as their avertising videos that teach you guitar
EHX Cathedral and Wampler Ethereal, great sounds plus I also sometimes cascade the EHX Canyon in there too. Of course my Marshall JVM 410H has an excellent on-board reverb too. And my Kemper has a multitude of reverbs, and then if I really want to get nasty I break out my Lexicon PCM96 Surround with its 10's of thousands of presets and near infinite possibilities of reverb/delay/chorus/flange/harmonizer effects.
Great stuff! Never would've thought of reverb as in regards to matching a particular room size or style of a song. I always thought of as style of a genre. Gives me ideas to experiment with for my presets! Like bluesy stuff sounds great with spring on guitar and slapback on vocals and Jazz based songs usually more plate sounding but now I'm gonna mix it up!!! Ty
How do I diagnose my suck without buying/swapping out each part? :( When I hammer on or pull off the tone is so quiet and fades away rapidly. What would cause this?
I wanted to ask about the Homeboy Soundtrack. Songs on that sound like they are played with reverb. Do you know it? Is it reverb I’m hearing, or some other effect/s?
I’m not sure but she’s an amazing singer as well. I first heard of her when she was featured on a song called “What happens in a small town” by Brantley Gilbert. She sings and plays a blistering solo in that song. You should check it out if you haven’t heard it.
What did she play in the beginning?? Would love to play that with the plate reverb, also total noob here so I have no idea other then trying to look at what she's doing. So any help is appreciated.
Hey Marty!! I was wondering if you could teach the solo in "The Worst Guys" By Childish Gambino. I've been wanting to play this song for a while, but nobody seems to have a tutorial on it. I was thinking someone like you with such a good guitar talent could teach it.
Marty is lookin' might fine these days. Quarantine suits him apparently.
Lol
Love whats he's done with his hair. Bold... bold, move I say
Definitely looks different after a fresh shave.
💀
cant believe I never noticed how pretty he his
Is this just what happens if we remove Marty's hat?
I think Marty just took a shower. Cleans up very nice.
Id think Marty always has a " haton" when hes hanging with her...
That tone reminds me of something perhaps from modern indie music, and it sounds deep! Cheers for this one guys!

Lidsay Ell has been a great addition to this page. I have been loving these Sunday lessons about dialing the tone in.
Love the hybrid picking. Can't get that sound and timbre with just a pick! I love seeing Lindsay's educational content.
Marty, love these vids with Lindsay. That girl could play Happy Birthday on guitar, and I'd watch it lol. So freaking beautiful and talent coming out her ears.
Man quarantine is working better for some.....looking good Marty
The title of this is a bit misleading and clickbaity. It would have been better named "Different types of reverb and their uses".
It was a bit misleading for me for different reasons. I thought it was a repost of a different pedals video (overdrive) that was done earlier with the same title. (Had to read it 3 times to catch the difference in pedals.)
I was hoping for some 'Pipeline (or) Wipe out' on the 'spring' Oh well!
Appreciate your input and explanation for us all. You are a true blessing to us students and Papa Marty
The colour of guitar and Lindsay's hair are soooo compatible.
I love Lindsay! Smart, pretty, and can play a mean guitar!
Crank up the reverb and lets go surfing!!!

@@JC-11111 I know what your saying but just for fun stuff your amp in another room and cranker her up, much easier on the ears ;)

Reverb has always been a core effect I’ve taken for granted. This was a very informative video.
Sweet! Nice examples of reverb with some really great playing as well
This is one of the better demonstrations of when to use different reverbs but agree that the title is a little misleading. Overall good video
This video will reverberate through out the guitar world. Thanks Lindsay, how about a lesson on that Hybrid picking?
You’re the best. I don’t need to know makes and models so much as what’s what.
This was amazing Marty I love your channel and content
Keep it up
Reeeeevvvvvveeerrrrrbbbbbbbbbb
Love Lindsay. Love the continuum project. These videos just feel too pieced together!
Reverb, one of the most important and difficult effect to use. Especially when you are not alone in the mix!
Dialing up the mix at the beginning is a great tip.
Such a wonderful guitarist. And a heck of a vocalist too! 🖤🤘🏻
Thanks Marty ! Because you bring Lindsay again ! She's very nice girl !!
Reverb has been my favourite effect and the only one I use beside distortion since I bought a Fender amp. But I never took the time to learn about different kinds of reverb.
Thank for explaining reverbs Lindsay!
Marty's being held hostage somewhere!
Thank you Lindsay for an awesome video and thank you Marty for introducing me to this amazing musician!
Notice her cobain shirt? I love it

Awesome demo Lindsay!
Finally had that shave Marty
Plate is always my favorite reverb, especially dark plate :)

I'd just use the reverb that comes with that Fender Deluxe Reverb amp your have there. No pedal required.
Exactly.
But I don’t have a fender reverb amp
I have a Tc Electronic Arena and I have a custom Tone print ( Plate) I named it Lindsay Verb!
Good idea to show some pedals and all their posibilites !!
Cool Cobain shirt!
am here to view it right from the kitchen. ohh this will help me some day grow on my youtube channel. thanks for posting.
Thanks that was really helpful.
Nice to hear a girl talk guitar like this🤯 She knows her stuff, she’s making me a bigger fan of both of you🤘😜 Her song Castles is super catchy too

i never use the wrong reverb, i don’t use reverb
No reverb is always wrong.
Fragtagninja, why
I havent him too :(
No shimmer reverb? Ha! Great review. Thank you!
I just use the reverb on my Deluxe or my Princeton, unless I am playing a show with my Marshall, then I use my Holy Grail.
If only we could have that awesome fender spring reverb on board a Marshall. Unfortunately they never seem to get it right when they do it.
@Reid James any reverb is better than no reverb.
@Reid James, I have a great reverb pedal. Just saying it would be nice if Marshall's reverbs weren't underwhelming.
Marty?
I love you, Lindsay.
I would die to be that upper horn on that Strat for just one song.
We want Marty!
What is the riff that she plays in the beginning? I've been going through spotify chill hits to find the song!
75deadpool its probably her own thing she just jammed up on the spot
Exactly what I want to know. Sounds super chill

Great Kurt Cobain T-Shirt and great video!!
Nice vid good info
How to get that tone she used in the intro?
That's my strat !!!
Do you use pedal plus amp together? Or is it too wet I have that amp plus marine layer?
After a few lessons I heard you on xm, I love that musicians share their talent. LE you rock (in a country way)
Girls usually say my reverb is bigger than average.
What did she play in the beginning??
Would love to play that with the plate reverb, also total noob here so I have no idea other then trying to look at what she's doing. So any help is appreciated.
Awesome.
Can you teach how solos are made?
please do a Clementine by Elliot Smith guitar lesson
Marty can you do some Sheepdogs songs? Like "Feeling Good" or "I Don't Know"?
What are the best songs to play with Reverb?
I litterly own the same exact strait XD
would you please do a tutorial on leave out all the rest by Linkin Park, I would really appreciate it
She can play.
If I were rich, I could afford those pedals!

I was waiting for someone to point it out lol
Please do Jumpsuit by twenty one pilots
Please do five six by pouya it’s a nice song to groove to.

Could you do a lesson on if I were a carpenter by Robert plant
