Yea I did two cards with that "matte" clear coat and got good results.
The other day I did a third card TWICE and it still went to shit so guess I was lucky the first two times 🤣

Nice build. And yeah .. the prices are going up for these now older exotic hardware. Collected a ton of hardware from the 2006-2009 era some years ago when it was dirt cheap to keep and sell when it has gotten even more valuable. Will of course tinker with it also :-D Use to own the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wifi motherboard during the Crysis-era, together with some OCZ 1066Mhz Platinum RAM and an Athlon X2 6000+. I've seen you are also hunting stuff on Tradera ;-)

Nice video! I'm the kind of person who wants to flash the bios on an am2 board and get a phenom II in there. I like this too though.

I had my old Opteron 175 for socket 939 overclocked to 3.2ghz on water, which would about equal the 6400+, only 939 was ddr1. Had 4gb ocz running ddr532 3-3-3-8 with it. Held me out until I finally could afford to upgrade in the fall of 2009! I love k8.

Please advise if anyone has cracked installing Windows 10 64 bit on 2004 vintage PCs like the AMD 939

Overkill for Fallout 3 :) Hey to disarm an atom bomb, that's cool!
You could upgrade to 7750, or are you keeping it to 6400?

I built this with mostly free old stuff, and no I wont get a Phenom, I have AM3 boards for Phenom II and I do like the K8 arch more, being the first x86_64 line of CPU's and this is the last in that line. I also have the Original Opterons from 2003.

@ I thought you wanted to explore from 6400+ onward. Maybe in the future ;)

I have a EVGA GTX 295 1792 MB I found in a Dual Core, but I does not turn on. Has fan spin but black screen. Would have loved to see it work again.

Really hate the single pcb version of this card. Had 2 of them that would work like 50% of the time. Half the time the system booted just fine and the other half the pc would not boot at all and made the gpu fan go full blast. Trashed both of them as the problem only got worse and on some motherboards they didn't work at all. Never seen anything like it with other gpus.

I have not tested and I dont know for sure if it works.
It works ofor sure on later K8 based processors like the X2 on socket AM2. They do have newer SSE3 and stuff.
I know Windows 8 is not suppose to work but Win 10 is suppose to work due to not requiring some instructions that 8 did.
So yea it should work in theory but then a lot of programs might require newer SSE instructionsets in turn so newer programs might not work.
I did accidentally boot up my Windows 10 driver on an AM2 board a few months ago with a Athlon64 X2 5200+ I think it was, I didn't even notice at first until I realized the background had the wrong default wallpaper XD
I do have some spare Socket 940 so Opteron boards so same K8 die as 939 and 754 so could test that at some point.
But Windows 10 do run on very old hardware but AM2 and K8 is about as low as I tested for now.
