    Awesome! I love it when women learn how to maintain equipment and decide what materials are going to work for the best outcome. There's also quite a few guys that need to learn it also.
    Great video of a cleaning and checking the serviceability.
    Now let's see how ringer does all decked out in the new gear!

    Wow it's really cool to hear you talk about set screws Allen wrenches that's pretty good! To get your lettering to stay in place I would probably go over it with a clear spray sealer and that way the edges are sealed so that it won't peel up. And if you just want to you could also use a really good enamel nail polish over them to keep them in place. Or you can just leave from them like they are, and yes they will peel off!

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  5 років тому

      Hahahaha! Yea, I could add the sealer over top. That's a good idea! :D

    Thanks for the latest video. Ringer's new knobs are definitely an upgrade to the original knobs. Cool decals too!!! I hope Ringer appreciates the maintenance/upgrade that you did ;-)

    As usual, another great video. Love the lettering. I only have one small suggestion, Don't be afraid of hurting the threads in the knobs. They are brass and are stronger than the little allen wrench. The reason the wrench has a short and long arm is so you can get it snug with the long arm then put the short arm in and get some leverage to tighten the screw. If you don't, you could lose one of the knobs when the screws loosen up. I have been a machinist for 50 years and worked with this kind of stuff every day. Loved the video. Thanks for sharing.

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  5 років тому

      Thanks! Good info! I'll go and tighten them up when I get home. Better safe than sorry right? :)

    ok princess, for orings to keep from drying out and cracking,, use silicone greese, just small dabe on finger tip, it little exspencive but is designed for that we use to use it when i worked for culligan water years ago, small tube goes long ways

    The blue, 4 "wall" thingy can come out complete now. The NUT is used to cause the 4 "wall" thingy to draw UP into the knob and cinch down on the shaft.

    🤔 screw fixing Knob, are screws metalic? Ferrous + salt water is not a good combination, maybe become melted to pin due to oxidation, check it out frequently, or can become dificult to remove after some months.

    Should remove the set screws and use some anti seize or a dab of waterproof grease on the set screws as they can seize up after time and you can strip them when trying to remove them later on.

      Thanks Tony! I figured I had a 50/50 shot of ruining my machine. Lol! Now I need to get a move on and get that switch mod. Haha! I might look at headphones first though. Those stock ones are getting annoying because they don't go small enough for my tiny head. You do headphone mods too right? I can't remember.

      @TonyEisenhower 5 років тому +1

      Tell ya what. If you can get by without her for a week or so, send me your “Ringer” and your Anderson handle and I’ll hook you up with my custom remote pinpoint switch and my awesome headphones. (They’ll look great on you😄). I’ll make you an offer which’ll be really hard to refuse.

For some reason the button just isn't happening and it's driving me nuts...

  • @wandlbaker

    The silicone spray is good but would probably be better to lightly coat the "O" ring with something like Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.

    • @frankstith7800
      @frankstith7800 5 років тому

      William Baker, never use petroleum based ointments on “O” rings made from rubber because the rubber will stretch... I found out the hard way on a rubber gasket (large “O” ring) for my household water filter. I had to buy another gasket and this time use some light weight silicone grease.

    Could you not size the nut and use the proper tool? Using a pair of needle nose is the best way I know to end op making a simple job very difficult
    Tools and o-rings should be metric.
