It’s all looks though, I wanted to lift my Colorado Trail Boss with big tires but it would ruin everything, my quickness , tranny and motor, the my warranty,,,plus I don’t want to cut on my truck, but YES it does look great!
Already hearing a lot of these 24s are having continuous high turbo spooling problems on 35s. Can't wait to see how this 4 banger with a turbo holds up on 37s. Especially in any kind of heat. Watch those transmission temps. It is going to be a crazy first summer season for these rigs out there.
Use the factory rear tundra coil on the Tacoma. 2 3/4” lift using non hybrid tundra rear coils. I’ve lifted two 4th gen tacos. One the white Tacoma with the extra weight it would be perfect.
I just bought this same Tacoma. I was hoping someone would make a video to see how it would look like with bigger tires. It looks good with the tires. I kinda like the trd wheels better though. I don’t think I’d put anything that would require me to trim.
That would be a good video to do. The truck with the black wheels vs the mono wheels mpg test to see how much mpg diff it really makes say on a 25-50 mile test.
You have to consider that the body flexes on the chassis mounts under load in off camber situations offroad. So even thou static clearances (even when flexed on hoist( clears, in real world scenarios you may find you need to trim a little bit more. Also consider a regear. What's the standard diff ratio on the new Tacomas?
The eight difference with those wherls really is a wow. I was expecting maybe 5lbs difference. And the Taco looks great. I thought 37s would look goofy, but the proportions worked out nice.
Hi I'm new into the world of IFS, I had a Jeep Gladiator before my 4th Gen Tacoma. When you put a new coilover like that do you need to change out UCAs? Like for space and such. Thank you! I've been thinking of getting something similar to level my Tacoma out.
Wow I finally know about a local show before it happens, I can't wait to go 4/27/24 in Corona Ca. Virgin GX 470 here. So keeping the weight theme and I am in the SW so no snow, what would be a good tire for it?
yo bro i went with the kmc km477 macvhine finish cost me 500.00 per wheel they look way better than the mono forged wheels you are using the wh mono forged wheels you are using they look like you would put them on a 90's civic the km477 looks like a truck wheel. keep doing what you doing i learn alot from your content
I love the look but all I’ve ever heard is as soon as you modify it issues start arising. I was always on other side of the spectrum with trucks that scraped the ground but had air shocks or bags. C section frames etc. I look back & think that was sketchy. 😂
If you go there Tom's Farm is a good place to meet up after for food and outdoor dining. Music, plenty of parking and about a mile away. Right off the 15 freeway.
How are you doing guys? I just bought My Wife a 24 Tacoma SR5 the room that the young man is holding that weighs 19 pounds what size room is that I will stock Rim is a 17 inch and when he mentioned RW I looked it up but I could not find it, please send me some info
37's on a 4 banger that was engineered for 32.6" tires. Good luck not cooking that transmission and small displacement turbo engine. Are you guys actually installing these for ignorant customers?
Yeah not great for the tranny if not re-geared but the engine will be just fine. People have been beating on the 22re for decades with larger tires than that. Old school yota guys don't mind a good ol 4 banger.
This is one of the better lookin build and nice simple set up, long term suffer to bearings, drivetrain, and CVs though! On a side note, newer gen tacoma guys would do anything but SAS their tacoma lol. Cant blame ya'll tho it's too fresh for all the cutting and welding. 1st gen tacoma and pickups are still superior outside the desert racing scene and mall crawling city limits tho 😉
I have those kmcs, grenades. But why you comparing weight of a beadlock wheel with a non beadlock? Of course the beadlock will weigh a lot more. And as for price, I think the kmc costs more than the rrw. At least the ones for my jeep are $600/ piece after tax.
Hate to break it to ya but the weight savings that close to the hub ain’t doing much outside of unsprung weight. The bulk of the polar moment of inertia is coming from that tire which puts most of the weight far from the center axis of rotation. Every little bit counts but…meh.
Am I missing something here .. went to 37's with no gear change!! To get the Tacoma from being a gutless wonder your going to need 4.86's or even 5.11's. So far this build to me is what we refer to as 'Mall Crawlers' here in AZ .. work good on the open paved roads .. where you will suffer from bad gas mileage and gutless performance. Here's an example. Just did the White Rim Trail in Moab with a stock 2022 Tacoma 4 dr with a 4 Wheel Camper onboard. I am on 265/75 16" BFG KO2's .. so far I haven't seen the need to do anything more and I can tackle all but the toughest trails in Moab .. not a rock crawler to be sure but then that's not my thing anyway. My rig weighs in at 6000 lbs with the camper and I get 16/18 mpg.
it is true that over sized tires on an already weak drive train is not a good idea....without a gear change, you are just throwing mpg away and asking for mechanical failures. most of these big tired trucks end up being non-functional mall crawlers.
I’ve allready blew one of these new Tacomas away with my Colorado Trail Boss in a red light race,,,It would be even easier beating any of these trucks!
2 grand for wheels, 1600 for tires, 5 grand for lift, only to have the truck explode the second its offroad lol. Looks great for a mall crawler, but this truck isn't going to fair well off the pavement. Even on the pavement, I bet it will be underwhelming and starved for power and searching for gears like crazy.
Yeah sometimes just because something seems like a good idea it probably isn’t and that is one of these times. No way the stock taco turbo engine will handle those tires and believe me that transfer case and that engine the transmission no way. It is a disaster waiting to happen.
I’m sure y’all are excited about the 24 Turbo. But I’m not. I purposefully bought a 23 TRD Off Road, double cab,6’ bed with premium and technology pkgs. That Turbo, Historically simply doesn’t last as long as a Naturally Aspirated engine
yeah, even more so if people switch to tires as big as these. Both the transmission and the entine are gonna suffer. It makes a case for having a hybrid that gives you 50 more horsepower and 150 more ft lb of torque in the 2025 4 runner.
@@jovaniortiz8317 I do agree. And yes i wish that my 23 had the hybrid option, as I would have bought it. But after I’m finished building my 23, it’ll have the power and off road prowess that it needs
Few other guys are already having high temp issues running 35s when wheeling and the turbos are spinning up more on the highway running big tires and hauling extra weight 🔥🔥🔥 🫣🍿
The idea that this is a "proddesional" shop that works on tacomas AND THIS is how they fit a larger tire!?!?! Please stahp. Pull the coils, dissasemble leaf packs. Cycle with out bump stops. Check each corner individually and cut to fit. Then fix the cuts. If yoir going to seel this at least do it right.
Four and six cylinders aren’t designed to run that much constant boost needed for larger tires, full size truck, etc. Manufacturers aren’t designing for longevity, just higher prices and cheap plastic CRAP!
Damn it looks insane
Best looking new taco so far
I second this, good lawd.
Nah

Awesome. I wish Toyo would make a 37-11.50-17 mud terrain tire
And 37x12.5r18
That Bronze Oxide looks so good

Looks nice and thick on the 37s! 👌🏻

Any chance those rims will be available for purchase? Sick
Are you going to run extended bump stops to stop the 37s from rubbing at full compression? The ride comfort from aired down 37s is gonna be crazy!
That would be a good video to do. The truck with the black wheels vs the mono wheels mpg test to see how much mpg diff it really makes say on a 25-50 mile test.
Better beef up the drivetrain on those tacos. TFL broke theirs with pizza cutters in a low stress setting.
Can’t wait to see you guys man !! That taco looks so badass

Did you leave the control arms stock?
How much boost to turn those tires 😂
Oh you know, gotta regear it so it's always pushing boost at 60mph
All of it
hope it drives /handles ok. my buddy put monster rims tires on his f- 250 truck. steering wheel even shook some and ride was bumpy and noisy as F

do you shop in Ontario?

Does a Tacoma have enough power to push those 37?
Which RR wheel is that on min. 2.51
how can i get this wheel on that color ? rrw brush
But you guys didn't turn the wheel so we can see what's rubbing
Will you need to re gear?
I’m not sure if I’d get the cruiser… I like the most off-road version but the trail hunter 4 runner is just awesome. I think it’ll be better offroad
Kiss your range goodbye! Lol you’ll be able to make it to the mall parking lot and find a space and then gas up right after
rest in peace tacoma

I like the wheels but those tires are a bit too meaty for my taste. How about 35s, no body mods?
35s is definitely more practical but we wanted to really push it a little further since others have done 35s with no trimming. No body or frame mods
