@@Soundpaintmusic you have my attention! Sadly I sold mine many years ago, and I can't wait to get a decent alternative. No emulation ever captured the real deal and feel
I just discovered you guys. I use the Arturia instruments and they are damn good and have a large base of different vintage synthesizers...however, the sonic quality of your Jupiter 8 is astonishing. From what I'm hearing with your demo is that the actual tonal quality of the instrument is far advanced to the original ( which I used plenty back in the day ), but captures the instrument ( probably as it should have been, but the technology wasn't quite there at that time ) in its whole. The passion, the work and the genius of creating this software is evident here. As an enthusist and professional user of software emulations, I have checked out and purchased many of these iterations; and I think you guys have nailed it in a big way. Thank you!
EQ on the mod wheel - I really like that. I have been looking for an EQ very much like that! To a limited extent, some of the moving life of a synth can be captured with drift. And subtly modulated filters (or EQ) can help. But this is another world! I am shocked and delighted at how Soundpaint takes aspects of sound design I have been struggling with and finds a whole new way of going further than I imagined! You should all be very proud of what you've accomplished.
Thanks B F. The EQ5 is specifically designed to be used as an expressive effect - fluently highlighting frequencies and fine expressions of the instruments
@@Soundpaintmusic Not that you’ll be short of UA-cam demonstrations, but I think you should ask Simeon Amburgey of Praise Tracks to cover Soundpaint after release. He is wonderful at communicating the expressivity of instruments and has a love of rich, living sounds.
These instruments look very promising, however, i'd like to see a detailed video of what this engine can do. I still don't have a clear idea of what makes soundpaint different than other synth/sampler engines.
127 real-time rendered dynamic velocity layers pr. key. Design your own engine - simple or complex - with modular elements. Ultra snappy and fully scalable super-minimalistic UI. True analog modelled effects. Ability to morph instruments or even morph microphone positions - all running at 127 real-time dynamics. Natural sample variation. Super optimized for SSD (virtually no load-times on gen 2 NVMe). Never on sale. No subscription necessary. Backed by the largest deep-sampled catalogue in the world + open to other developers. All instruments lives together - meaning you can take different components from millions of sound sources and make your own in seconds. Analog behavior modelled into the engine. Plus - the Soundpaint Engine is free and so is the 1928 Steinway Grand Piano that comes with it. So you can download it, feel it and see if it is for you.
What makes it different is that you get nothing other than a (admittedly good) piano. Might be a great thing that works well for you, but you'll never know unless you throw money at them.
Loved this and loved your words that helped point out some of the many unique sound qualities of this legendary synthesizer! Really helpful and ear opening!
I'm speechless! You faithfully captured the noble soul of the JP-8. I had one and regret selling it to this day. Then comes this, hands down the best Jupiter 8 sound coming from something other than a Jupiter 8
Was the recording put through some enhancing saturation/limiting or other processing? This video demo literally made my speakers come alive ... in a way no other synth demo I heard in the last twenty years did. I need to go buy this !
We do both. We record it at raw state, so you get exactly the real deal, but also sometimes record through analog hardware to bring forth certain flavor profiles when appropriate. This baby shines! ❤️
I meant was the soundtrack of the video processed or not? eg put through extra plugins or hardware to beef it up? Sounds so alive and warm and juicy@@Soundpaintmusic
I like this and would really love it, but the volume varies between patches often being low. But the worse issue is how the filter is off and inconsistent from patch to patch forcing me to go through settings. I thought something was off because the sounds here sounded much different than the actual item. But the cutoff and other settings was inconsistent along with the low volume. Please fix this and it will go from an 8 to a 10!!! Thx
No. Soundpaint uses an entirely new audio format - which offers the ability to morph instruments and microphone positions - at 127 dynamic velocity layers ...
I really love the demonstration - you're such a nice guy! :) May I ask what the auto-pitch does at 7:22? Is it the randomness you're describing or is it adding to the round-robbins you recorded, making the sound even more diverse?
Thanks Leo. Not 100% sure what you mean with auto-pitch. The micro-pitch is slightly fluctuating and in addition you have something similar to round-robin going on, so everytime you click the key you get a new variation. Lots of tiny moving parts - also stuff happening underneath the hood of the engine and often slightly analog (im)perfections in effects.
How did you manage to make the LFOs and modulations work with the samples? Was each increment sampled? Also are the low end notes from the sampler engine or were those low notes sampled as well?
Excellent question. So we Ultra Deep-Sampled (UDS) the J8 - meaning that we record the entire key-range (from lowest to highest notes), however we also recorded the entire key range several times per program, so you get natural variation (a bit like round robin for acoustic sampling) when you repeat the same key. In addition Soundpaint (SP) comes with a deep mod matrix offering 8 LFOs, so you can modulate further. The UDS version contains over 26 thousand samples, including extensive sampling of all the raw oscillators, but also a rich pool of unique parts and programs highlighting some of the unique features of the J8. Example its piercing unison mode and all of the most classic mod configurations. But the library goes really deep - for example it contains toneless analog clicks from the synth, so you can add them on top of whatever you want and get that natural analog variation on the initial attack of the note.
hey Soundpaint i know your library is about vintage gear and i love them , but pls remove the white hiss noise from your mic ( izotope RX8- Spectral denoise) so that we can enjoy your video even more thanks!
ok, this intro video. these sounds. this arrangement. beautiful.
this man's passion for music and these retro synths resonate so much with mine, I want to hug him!
Thanks Dave! I love analogs so much and they are like real acoustic instruments. Incredibly complex and just so much more delicious than cold digital.
Awesome sounding! Hoping for a CS-80 one day.
Maybe we already are ...

Oh no I'd never sell a CS-80. Although I understand if it's because of maintaince. Jup 8 costs more than an 80.
@@bengsynthmusic Jupiter 8 costs about 10k dollars. A working CS-80 costs upwards of 20k dollars. A Jupiter is definitely not as expensive.

This sounds sooo amazing!
Thank you Fabian.
Mesmerizing introduction to the video! Sounds great!
Thank you! These units are art pieces.
THANK YOU!!
Troels da man always on top of his game. Man can we get the other libraries we have already through this engine ?hahah
We can - and will. Soundpaint benefits from different sonic perspectives. Real-time rendering and morphing opens up entirely new universes of sound.
Really hope for some good intro deals. Definitely want this and Palindrome
Just bought the bundle last night I tried like 10 patches they sound amazing

Any plans to do the Jupiter 4?
Absolutely!
I just took the plunge!

You guys need to incorporate some old school orchestra hits off the old Korg/Roland workstations.
Super Duper!!! When available?
How many instruments are coming?
We have over 100 ready and dozens in current production. This is just the beginning of several years of preparation.
@@Soundpaintmusic If we already have existing 8dio libraries, will we be able to crossgrade to their soundpainted versions?
@@elamorana7400 It would be great if there are discounts for 8dio users and V8P members😍
Phenomenal tool ! Just need to try the engine with the free Steinway using my Aerophone AE-10 ! Then consider Juniper, if it works OK!
It does sound excellent but I almost fell off my chair when I saw how large the download is! 84GB for the UDS and 12GB for the standard.
10:14 reminds me of the Cars- Drive
Highly concerning the website has nothing on it. Also nothing on the web about them? Looks like a great plugin though
Because it's a brand new company and the product isn't even out yet. If you don't know who Troels is, he owns 8Dio.
