This was an excellent discussion and tips for muscle and joint pain. I loved you both on Degrassi!

Hi Stacey, i used to have two herniated discs and I started taking Food grade diatomaceous earth, (DE) is a gentle abrasive that's also highly absorbent, and it's almost entirely made of silica - an important component of human ligaments, cartilage, and musculature. This unique resume makes DE one of the cheapest and most versatile health products on the market.
That really helped me with my joint pain.

I grew up watching Degrassi and am the same age as most of the classic cast. Thank you ladies for sharing your wealth of knowledge with everyone.
In regards to your topic of osteoarthritis, I have been having a problem with one of my knees not bending, especially getting out of bed. I have osteoarthritis and bone spurs in both knees. The doctor I recently saw told me there was nothing he could do because I also have bilateral leg lymphedema too. Would either one of you have a suggestion on something I could try to get my knee bending more again?? I would love to hear your input. Thank you kindly. Sorry for the long post.

Hi Cheri, I'm sorry to hear about your knee issues. I would first speak with a physiotherapist to prescribe some stretches and exercises to help with mobility and building up strength. Swimming can be helpful due to less stress on the joints -as well as walking and elliptical trainers. Stretches and exercises should involve the surrounding joints and muscles like the hamstrings, quads, hip flexors and calves. Generally, I recommend starting a movement slowly and stopping the range of motion when you feel pain. Work within that range with the goal of increasing it, slowly but surely. Again though, I would first clear any activity with a specialist.

@@strongerwithstacie Thank you Stacie for your reply. I am already seeing a physical therapist and she is working intensely with me on my legs. Thank you for the other suggestions too, Stacie. They are much appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to reply back to me.

@strongerwithstacie You might not remember being in the 'Princes in Exile' movie with Zachary Ansley and Nicholas Shields, however, that was a great movie. Do you think the cast will ever have a reunion, Stacie?? I think it would be awesome if you all did.
Of interest, Zachary's character 'Ryan' had glioblastoma multiforme.' My mother died of that in 2014. Hers was stage 4. Thank you Stacie and the rest of the cast for making that beautiful movie about cancer. You all were great in it. I would love to see the cast reunite again. God bless you all. Happy Easter!
