Joint and muscular pain top symptom of menopause among Singaporean women: Study

A recent study has found arthralgia, or muscular and joint pain, to be the top symptom of menopause among women in Singapore. It is a condition that affects the spine, nerves and daily functioning. Professor Yong Eu Long, emeritus consultant at NUH's department of obstetrics and gynaecology, and Amy Fang, who suffers from arthralgia, shared more about menopausal symptoms and living with the condition.

Please do keep us updated on the results of the study. I was surprised with peri-menopause symptoms this year, and went through a host of completely unfamiliar pains, aches, emotions, thoughts, and fears. I was lucky to have a sympathetic female doctor but I wish she and I had a bit more information to go on.... I'm sure my husband would also have appreciated it. 🙂

Indeed I have joint pain that cause sleepless nights. It’s a sharp pain especially my knee. I can’t bend them.

I suspect I have this problem (muscle tension) for a few years but mine is pre menopause. No guidance to treatment

Lesson learnt, keep yr body free from long term drugs n immature vaccines, keep moving, do house work. Dont put all blame on aging n menopause.
