    A power forward that can rebound and shoot the 3. Giddey needs to learn a shooting niche and learn a defensive dribble. Chet needs to gain strength, just dub needs to learn to pivot on his attack. Let Giddey’s contract go to restricted free agency and have 2 more years on his contract. You offer a good look with bridges.

    Cool video! :)
    I think something looming is that the Thunder will eventually have to pay everyone.
    This makes me think they will need to use a lot of those draft picks to keep cycling in new rookie contracts as role players instead of dumping away all the assets in a 2K style trade (like a lot of ppl are wishing for).
    Sam Presti is a magician in terms of gaining future value in most transactions he makes. I don’t see him ever making a roster move that compromises his value for long-term thinking.
    If I had to guess, the team will be mostly the same next year, but he’ll figure out how to make an unexpected interesting roster move or two while prioritizing stability over anything boom-or-bust-ish.

    • @_AVC_

      I could totally see that. There is a great argument to be made that you just run it back next year, and all you add is like a beefy backup center. Keep the assets, let this group continue to grow together. Sounds good to me haha.

Also Giddey is intriguing, a 6’8 point guard next to two 6’10 forwards +the fact we can hide Giddey’s defense right next to Jalen Suggs defensive abilities. Should add Kenny, and a 2nd round pick to the Giddey deal and try grab J'sean Tate, also maybe trade up for ware Salun feels too much like Dieng2.0, that if you going bridges route, otherwise I would mind one of: Bobby Portis, Tari Eason or potentiall Naz to come start all add size and spot spotting up from behind the arc especially the first with the rebounded well help us bang inside with T Wolves or Mavs.

      Tari is an interesting name in that list of people. There are a lot of young dudes on the Rockets so someone is bound to get lost in it. He could be a guy you try to save from that. I’m guessing if OKC trades for anyone it’s someone a little more developed but it’s interesting nonetheless.

  • @hestilllives192
    @hestilllives192 4 місяці тому +2

    Trading OKC picks is a bit trickier than you'd think. That 2026 OKC is actually tied to two swaps due to the James Harden trade, with Philly having the least of OKC/HOU/Clippers, and OKC getting the best two, but the HOU pick is also top 4 protected, so OKC only gets 1 pick if the Rockets are bottom 4. I don't think it's really tradable unless it's something like 2nd least of OKC's 2026 picks, but then if the Rockets pick doesn't convey OKC wouldn't have any 2026 picks. 2025 and 2027 are also complicated in a similar way, with 2025 having double swap rights with Clippers/Rockets (top 10) and 2027 having a swap of the Clippers pick for either OKC or Denver (top 5). I think the only cleanly tradable picks OKC has are 2025 Utah (top 10), 2025 Philly (top 5), Miami (top 14), 2029 Denver (top 5), and OKC 2029/2031. That's still 7 tradable 1st's though.

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah I was reading up on that before the video. Tried to put little notes next to the picks haha. They are certainly a little complicated to work with but I don’t think there is anything preventing them from moving them. They are just weird in how they convey. But let me know if I’m wrong haha! Their picks situation is wild!

  • @paullucas6275
    @paullucas6275 4 місяці тому +2

    I'd go for Edey personally but everybody says he's slow (showed in the combine he was pretty fast for a big) and he has no post moves. He can learn post moves from a legend like Hakeem or KG. Move Chet to the 4 and put Edey at the 5 so he can grab boards. Edey showed also he can hit 3s at the combine as well.

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  4 місяці тому

      I love the comment “he can just learn moves from Hakeem or KG” haha. Just so matter of fact 😅. So yeah I don’t hate the idea of Edey at all, but I think if you’re drafting him to be a starting center and not a role player you might be disappointed.
      I also don’t want to move Chet off the 5. There is an economic utility of players and you lose utility of Chet when you take him away from the 5. I think it would be more beneficial to address different needs on the team.

    • @paullucas6275
      @paullucas6275 4 місяці тому +1

      @AVC_Streams I'm just saying he's not completely hopeless like people are saying. Not saying he will have an incredible post game but at least he will be in a position to learn from a veteran just like when Chet worked with KD over the summer. He has good size at 285-300 pounds. Maybe I'm missing something but I think he could be a great fit for OKC.
      They could also go with Cody Williams. He has size (6'8) and can actually play the 4 and have his older brother play the 3. As long as he works out with his brother and bulk up I can see him being a good option as well.
      They can also try to go for a big like Nic Claxton or Jarrett Allen. That can also help them.

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  4 місяці тому

      @@paullucas6275 Yeah I don’t think he’s hopeless at all. I just don’t see him as a starter. I think if you ask him to do 1-2 well you’ll be happy with him.
      It would be cool to have the Williams brothers together. Cody needs a lot of work but they can help him with that there for sure.
      As far as Allen or Claxton I’ll again go back to fit and the utility of players. If Chet is gonna be apart of their future I don’t see him moving away from the center spot.

      @@_AVC_ I feel like Twin Towers is a model that could gain in popularity after Brook Lopez/Giannis won a title, and KAT/Gobert may very well win this year. Edey has physical dominance in spades to go along with Chet's lanky, mobile build and outside shooting capabilities. Edey isn't the most mobile guy, but I think he moves about as well as a standard 7'0" 250 lb true center, which is impressive for actually being 7'4" 300 lbs, and if he can be an offensive mismatch without being a defensive liability, that's a scary weapon to add to an already talented team.

    • @_AVC_

      @@heavylobster4339 I think there is a substantial difference between the guys listed and a potential of Chet and Zach 😅. I like the thinking but I worry we’re taking away some of Chet’s advantages if we move him out of the center position. Dallas killed OKC with their playing of two bigs who caused all sorts of issues with wide open alley oops, blocked shots and offensive rebounds. OKC was clearly the better team at every position other than Luka but still lost 4-2 although they were a play away from game 7. The blueprint of playing two bigs looks pretty solid now with Dallas and Minnesota doing this very effectively. If OKC can get Edey or Filipowski it's game over.

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  4 місяці тому

      I’ve always been a proponent of telling teams that they need to address the backup center position before anything else on the bench. Bigs are always the scarcest resource because there just aren’t many of them, so depending on which one you get it can help you determine what else you need to do to fill in the gaps.
      I totally agree with what you’re saying about the bigs. I don’t know if OKC goes for either of those two (although just as a basketball fan Big E would be awesome to see on that team haha) I think the idea is really onto something!
      A little insight on the draft process, since I’ve been talking to a ton of scouts, there are not a ton of positive remarks coming about Filipowski. It’s a lot of “eh” remarks. Obviously he could be the next great big for all we know, but from the trained eyes we are kinda eh on him.

    Love the bridges idea. As far as the big man that OKC needs though. Man it gets so tricky. Which is a great problem to have. The thunder love everybody dribble driving to eventually shoot a good shot or get a good look at the rim.
    That’s why Chet worked out so well, and as much as we need a rebounder. There’s not many bigs who can rebound, dribble drive, and shoot it from deep. At least those who aren’t named Joel Embiid Nikola Jokic or Giannis.
    I’ve not heard a lot of talk about this guy, so this is why I’ll ask your thoughts. Da’ron Holmes from Dayton seems like a man that could fit right in with this group. As well as checks all 3 boxes. What are your thoughts on Holmes? I think he’s our guy but no one is mentioning him

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  4 місяці тому +1

      You make a great point that people constantly don’t mention. There are very few guys that can do everything haha. I always see comments like “Yeah we need some lengthy 3&D wings that can handle a bit.” I’m always like “Okay I don’t think Jayson Tatum is available haha.”
      That’s why it’s so important to find role players that can really be positive in small parts of the game.
      As far as Holmes goes I don’t know what problem he would necessarily solve for OKC. He can do a bit of everything but it wasn’t very efficient even at the college level. Shot was pretty bleh, turned it over a ton, his advanced rebounding numbers are pretty subpar for his height. I also don’t think he has the frame to be a good NBA rebounder since he’s so light.
      I’d position him at the 4 and try to turn him into a wing before trying to make him a center personally.

      @drewmcgrady3766 4 місяці тому +1

      @AVC_Streams No worries, I generally use Spotrac for contract details for that exact reason, they seem to have super accurate info. That said, I like the video and ideas, I do think it's unlikely the Nets would be willing to do Giddey and just the two mid 1sts as apparently they were thrown some pretty good offers this year for Bridges, so the idea of having to bid more, honestly I think your offer, then including the 12th overall (sounds like alot, but look at the big trades lately, teams are willing to throw 3, 4, 5 1sts at teams.) I think the exact problem you ran into with almost having to force a pick at 12, in a very week class kinda gives us that ability to just say screw it, let's cash in, make sure we get an Unbelievable fit (I can't think of a better player for OKC to add, including some of the other fan favorites of KAT, Lauri, Mobley/Allen than Bridges) and just sell out trying to win a title in these next two years before maxing out both Chet and Dub as well as Shai. Then most likely sign and trading Bridges at that point?

    I am 100% of the opinion that the Thunder should do nothing this offseason. Well, other than giving Wiggins and Joe a new deal. Those two guys are key.
    Chemistry matters and teams need continuity. Any changes will make them worse than a more experienced version of this current team. I would be fine with OKC trading the draft pick for something further in the future if the opportunity presented itself.

      Trading the pick I would say probably not. At a certain point all those picks are gonna have a negative impact. Since at a certain point you literally won’t be able to use them all teams will use that against you in negotiations. @@_AVC_ @AVC_Streams By "sub-6'7"" I mean 6'6" and under. The Thunder has way too many 6'6" and under players to the point we've often run all-6'6" under lineups (with K-Rich at the 5) for two seasons. Mikal is a redundant player -- we have enough defensive-minded players his size. *We need size and experience.* Even Dort's (sole) previous playoff experience happened in the bubble. This current playoffs was his and most of the team's first Playoffs in front of a crowd, and SGA's second.
      Again, the team needs size. I tried to continue watching the video, but I had to stop it when I saw that you wanted to go to the draft for size. Everyone knows bigs need time to develop, and with Mikal in the lineup, we'd be looking at 4 out of 5 starters being sub-6'7" or putting a draftee in the starting lineup and wasting more of Shai's time. (Keep in mind, Chet had a chance to experience and learn the NBA for a season before his "rookie" season and he still needed more experience for the playoffs.) We need to *trade* for a starter-caliber big, and if the rest of the video doesn't cover that, I can't keep watching. Mikal is not a 4, nor is Dub. Teams are getting taller and taller and we need an experienced starter-level 4 to counter that.

    Honestly, that Bridges suggestion is not bad. I'm a little surprised you picked Drummond over Valencunias, Claxton or Hartenstein though. I like Drummond, but he's past his prime and most of his rebounds come from repeated offensive missed tip ins. He's also horrendous on defense (OKC is defense minded, he wouldn't fit it), that's why his career tanked. Claxton is still developing yet almost a nightly double-double, plus a good defender with 3 blocks a night. He's not a big scorer which actually fits, cause the Thunder already have their other scoring options. I think Claxton would be a fantastic fit for the Thunder - and he's a similar age as the rest of the team, which I think can't hurt.

      I like all those guys better than Drummond (I don’t know about JV after the playoffs but before I did lol), but I don’t know why they would go to OKC. Maybe you convince JV to play there but I just don’t know. Feel like he could still get one more start somewhere.
      Yeah Drummond is traditionally a pretty poor defender but this year he was pretty positive on that end. Nothing crazy but he doesn’t need to be. Literally just a type of player they don’t have which is someone that can grab rebounds and be heavy haha.

    I would do the bridges trade but include Kenrich Williams and a 2nd to take the contract. I think I like Ware better in the draft, because he gets time to develop, and could replace Jwill as a back up center when his contract expires or take his spot straight up. I do like the Dunn signing, but instead of Drummond I would go after Obi Toppin, I think he would be the perfect depth 4, can defend, rebound a little bit, athletic, and can shoot. I like trading Giddey, if you can get Lauri then great but Utah is pretty insistent that he’s sticking around. Having two dynamic 7 footers would be cool though. I don’t think you NEED it but I think every team would like that haha.

    Great video overall. I believe the starting 5 should be caso, shai, jdub, (new pf) chet.
    Josh and lu should be traded along with picks to bring in the new pf. Then sign a back up center and pg. Kenny is also a valuable asset.
    Ousmane could earn that pf spot if he is ready. They believe in his development but wont rush it, so another pf to ease him in would make sense.
    And YESSS I LOVED THE SALAUN PICK. If not him, i know it’s a frontcourt player that presti likes.

      I appreciate it! I personally wouldn’t trade Dort but I guess if the right player is available then it’s whatever haha.
