I got mine in September and have only managed 1100miles so far as its been a rubbish weather for ages. What a wonderful bike the Street triple is, definitely a long term keeper. Thanks Wheelie Good enjoy the bike and hopefully the spring is fast approaching.
I got my cosmic yellow RS in April 23. I'd definitely recommend checking the suspension settings. Mine were not set as per the manual, and the forks were unevenly set. I'm now running on comfort settings, which I may firm up a touch, I found the standard settings to firm for the road and never ride on track. It's a great bike, but so was my 2014 675r, which I owned for 6yrs before. If I hadn't foolishly sold that and had a year break from triumph ownership, I don't know if I'd of upgraded to the RS.
Now ride an old 675. What was great then, and it was, will seem a little lacking now. Comfort settings work well for me, soaks up pot holes, overbanding etc without losing much.
@douglasalexander4348 I'm not so sure the 675 would feel lacking. Yes, the 765 is quicker, but they're not worlds apart. I agree with you on the comfort settings, they were fine on the 675, and I stuck with them. I need to ride the RS more this season on comfort, only done about 1000 miles on it since setting. 2500 in total, but I do have 3 other bikes. 😊
@@trevorphillips3055 Your right. The 675 is brilliant, not lacking, my bad, and no need to upgrade if you have one. I guess I meant after putting in the miles on the 765, you’ll notice the difference if you went back. Like you, I tried comfort settings, and was pretty surprised at how well it handled at speed. If I had perfect roads I’d firm it up, but it’s like the moon around here (Kent) and I’ll have a tiny bit of wallow at high speed corners but better everywhere else.
I've never ridden a Street Triple, but my mate loves his. I don't think I've ever seen a bad review, and Triumph factory staff mainly opt for the Street Triple, rather than the bigger Speed Triple, which says a lot. Anyway Dave, Enjoy! 👍
Lovely bike, gonna have to rewatch your 660 upload, didn't realise you didn't like it, got some catching up to do. Many people think cruise is for distance but for me, firstly in speed limits, set and focus more on road surface and situations and secondly, I get hand buzz/numbness on many bikes so cruise is a must for me if available. A trainee of mine has just bought one. Hope youre well.
I got the older r. I like the needle tachometer and the suspension was a little more forgiving. Like you, I felt instantly at home on it, the ergonomics were just so good, like I’d had it for ages. Cruise control? The throttle is sooo light as it is, might be handy for average speed camera though. Nice to see a review in the cold and wet. For luggage, I got passenger grab rails for mine, allows me to strap a big 50l roll bag to it.
@@WheelieGoodTV 👍 Fitting the passenger grab rails give it a bit more width, the bag is more stable. Really worth it if your putting a bag on the back. I don’t get on with soft panniers, always worrying about them. Mines 2020 R, not sure if they do the rails for yours ? . Good riding, the 765 does everything, slow, fast and comfortable and such a smooth throttle. What a bike. I use comfort settings most of the time, I tend to do lanes not big roads.
Fantastic motorcycle! You picked a hell of a bike to be your 1st Triumph! I have the same model/color and it's been fantastic. Keep an eye on the front brakes, Several folks saying they've experienced front brake rub, uneven wear, warping or blue-ing of front rotor... Happened to me as well, but went away after 1k miles. Good luck ride safe!
I just got mine but carnival red beginning this year. Because of the weather I only did like 300+ kms. Can’t wait for the season!!! Amazing bike, great choice.
You look great on the new bike. A good kit and how you look is always important to me. One thing I would add would be a fender extender to the front wheel. I have them on all my bikes and they do help. Beautiful bike.!! 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️
Great video, I had a test ride back last July and instantly ordered a cosmic yellow one, however because the dealer couldn't get one till Nov I put it off till this year, should be here early march. Can't wait. I also opted for cruise control😁
I’m 5’8” with a 30” inside leg. Yeah it’s tall but I can still get the balls of my feet down no probs so I’m secure. The bag is the Kriega waist pack and I have the Iron Jias heated gloves which I made a vid about just before Xmas. They’re amazing.
Hi Dave, just enjoying the video and looking forward to the delivery of my 2021 RS in a couple of days😀 Did you fiddle with the suspension settings yet? The dealer sort of “steered” me away from doing that myself, but reading the “manuel” it looks easy enough. I need a more comfortable setting possibly for a man of my vintage and the awful roads around here. Hope you continue to love the bike. I suspect I’ll be in love with mine pretty quickly much to the wife’s annoyance!
Hi Malcolm, Weirdly I’ve just finished editing a video all about how I adjusted the suspension. It can be tricky enough in fairness as it involves ‘clicks’ as well as full turns. However, the difference is huge and I adjusted mine to the comfort setting. The bike is now PERFECT……for me!🤔 Vid coming soon.👌🎥
Great review, I'm on my third consecutive RS and like you was expecting a more aggressive seating position on the bike after watching the initial road tests but can say it's definitely no different to the previous model re ergonomics, though it certainly is different and much improved performance wise, the new shorter gearing in 2nd to 5th really beefs up acceleration and the steeper rake at the front makes handling slightly sharper, I absolutely love mine but have one slight gripe, the TFT which IMO has got worse with each new model, the font is too small especially for an old git like me but it's just a minor gripe on such a great bike, good health to enjoy yours, incidentally I'm with you 100% about the tyres, the super corsa V3s were great during the summer but were nerve wracking in the near freezing point weather from November on, pushing me into fitting Pirelli Rosso 4s which immediately instilled confidence in them in very cold conditions, a friend who owns a 2022 Street triple fitted Michelin road 6s to his bike and raves about them,
100% agree with the Super Corsa tyres. useless in the wet or cold. I've been running Michelin and , there's no comparison. confidence inspiring even for Scottish winters 👍🏻
Hi Dave, Sounds like you really enjoyed that. Kudos for taking your new pride and joy onto the salty roads. Update on Triumph quality and ACF50 corrosion resistance later in the year? Were you using the new DJI mic 2? Cheers Arthur
Another bit of good advice is to remove that suspension tool from under your seat cowel and put it in a safe place at home, they always fall out and get lost if left on bike.
YOu will never go over bars if you break hard, that is what ABS is for, in my moto school we had emergency break and i break super hard, not once i went over bars. Can't wait for mine, next week i will place an order. Safe rides
