Thank you for the solution! I just replace the thermal paste on a different model A1502 and its WiFi suddenly stopped working. I've tried to reinstall the WiFi card multiple times but no success. Your video showed me the hint that the problem was related to the cable. I found I did insert the cable incorrectly which caused the WiFi problem. Now all work like a charm.
I couldn't give two hoots about Apple products or their sheep, but you say the case is bowed and by adding more foam it will only increase outward pressure, so what about thermal contact for whatever the chip was next to the fan? Graphics or southbridge whatever
