- By now, we’re used to testing SUVs with off-road packages. But today, we’re looking at the real deal: the all-new 2024 Lexus GX, redesigned from the ground-up and looking tougher than ever.
It certainly looks the part of an overlander. Fortunately, Lexus invited us out to Arizona for more than just a “look.” We put this off-road machine to the test. #Lexus #LexusGX #LexusGX550

Driven the GX 550 and it’s excellent. Customers are lining up for this and will not be disappointed!
A Lexus G-wagon that won’t break, (my friend’s G was ALWAYS in the shop, he then sold it), gets better MPG, (MUCH better than the 9-14mpg of the G63), and cost HALF the price as the G!! SOLD!! 👌👍. …….did I mention how UNRELIABLE the G was?!? 😂
Anecdotal, where is the data that proves the G is unreliable?
How do you know this is reliable? This same motor is having issues in the Tundra lol
You can buy one for 100K in texas when they show up
Lexus GX❤
Capable, powerful, distinctively styled, and more likely, better reliability than the competition.
I thought the Toyota flock believed that turbos were unreliable?
How do you know its reliable with the new twin turbo V6 the one in the tundra is having all kinds of issues
That’s one beautiful mall crawler!
👏👏👏 GREAT JOB Jessica 🔥🔥🔥
This is a nice car.
Simply elegant
Shall the Lexus GX Mk3 and the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 both get Chevy Suburban-like LWB variants each with a standard third-row?
I want it
Does this mean if the 4.6 v8 had a 10 speed the mpg would be way better than this?
I'd rather have areas to rest my three cellphones (work) then wireless chargers. They often dont work with phone cases or larger black mirror brick phones.
If the smaller engine gets worse fuel economy then what is the point when it creates more pollution, by burning more fuel, than a V8?
Shhhhhhhh just consume consumer. Buy the thing. Stop thinking.
I think it has something to do with nitrous oxide emissions or something dumb like that.
More power obviously. Like 48 more horsepower and 150lb ft of torque. Faster and greatly improved towing capability and more advanced transmission. People who are buyers for such vehicles don’t get hung up on fuel economy the way non buyers lose their minds over it.
Honestly if this motor can be essentially a more reliable version of the Ford Ecoboost motors I'm all for it, since those truly do drive well. Something more mechanically simple like an NA V8 is just gonna be more reliable though, and that makes more sense for the use case of this car to me.
Luxury EXport United States ❤
The overtrail+ is not the top trim and not all models come with the wireless charger.
I wonder what the 4Runner will look like.
Land Cruiser?
@@georgekisselbrock8937, I am sorta in agreement there. Not sure how they can do a Land Cruiser and a 4Runner, they completely overlap. My bet is they continue the 4Runner as is to bridge the gap for a bit, and it fades away.
@@rustleseeyou’re fuggin high dawg. The 4Runner is their money maker
I wonder what the insurance cost will be for this?
No V-8 no thank you a twin turbocharged engine will not last much past 130k miles with out costing major costs $$$$$$ in very expensive repairs.
That's not what the Lexus faithful are saying now that Lexus has gone turbo. Hysterical.
@@MercOne Maybe you should stop drinking mercury there because it’s making your mind turn into 💩. These turbocharged engines will not last like the previous non turbocharged engines.
With a little over 8.5 inches of ground clearance, there are plenty of better options out there if you really like to get off pavement.
While I agree there are better options for off road none of them will be as comfortable or quiet when on road.
Straight lines are great! It is too bad it no longer has a V8, a,transmission with a reasonable number of gears and it has a fake instrument panel.
Agreed. The digital interiors are annoying
5 seats? 7 seats? 10 seats?
Overtrail is 5 seats. All other trims 7 seats
Nobody is going to take these off-road 😂
Third
They made a Range Rover, and like a Range Rover 99% will never leave pavement…
Agreed, pavement queens.
Citation needed
Range and land are just terrible 50k mile oil leak vehicles. Lease only for show types.
Unlike a Range Rover it'll put down thousands and thousands of trouble free miles.
People actually take these off road
How appropriate..... This video just a day after Toyota's recall of ~280,000 trucks/suv's.
First
Aah Lexus Luxury fake leather, plastics everywhere and fake wood trim 😂 but the 🤡 will say but it's reliable 🤡🤡🤡
The last generation of GX had a very high quality interior with nice material. If the european brands make a better interior I could not notice a difference.
What ignorance. Fake wood trim isn’t going to make or break this and real leather is an option just as with MB and BWW offering both synthetic and real leather.
My Lexus has real wood veneer...
