As a critical care nurse that works in a level 1 Trauma center I can tell you that i wear my Nicks ranger boots to work. The thick work leather and the arch support that your boots provide has protected my feet from several syringes with needles uncapped from embedding in my feet. I refuse to wear the suggested footwear recommended by the hospitals and choose to wear my Nicks. After explaining this to my supervisors they now realize the importance of proper foot wear even in the healthcare setting. So now i have opted to purchase the Roberts boot in Walnut Smooth so they will be more mainstream. When you guys build boots I'm sure you don't realize that you serve customers in all areas. I won't buy anything other than Nicks boots. And fantastic review Abby!!!
This is actually an invaluable review for me! My girlfriend really wants a really good pair of boots. She has pretty small feet, but also some foot issues we think would be helped with such supportive boots. I think we can gradually break in over a long period.

Expensive, but hard to go wrong with Saphir; top notch brand. Bick 4 is also a good choice for every leather I've tried if you're not trying to darken your leathers. Dirt cheap and handy if you want to condition something but don't really need anything heavy duty, or if you're in between deep conditionings.
Obenaufs darkened my work boots, too, but they were old when I applied it. Venetian Shoe Cream works as well as Saphirs at about a third of the price, and it won’t darken the leather.
This was an outstanding review! Love the sizing experience, this will be helpful for my wife and other women. Thanks for the conditioning experience as well to prevent darkening the leather (good test on the false tongues/kilties). Have fun with your hikes.

Nice review. I was thinking about these (not for hiking - I have Zamberlans for that) but for a good everyday "rugged wear boot". The biggest takeaway from seeing them "live" rather than on the website is just how chunky that sole really is (especially on the heel). I think I will opt for the Falcons. Thanks again!
These look so good! Great review. Hopefully we will get an update. I just placed a custom order with the limited run oxblood chromexcel and essentially just created a Falcon boot with the v-bar soles, but your video has convinced me that I should change to the V100 lugs. It seems to me that the Urban Drifter is basically a falcon with the lug sole, but I could be wrong. In any case, great video, and killer boots! Love your setting for the video too. Very nice.

Sweet! As another lady who likes boots, loved the review. It’s annoying how most boot brands really shortchange us. As an apprenticing cobbler, the amount of expensive TRASH that comes in for ladies boots and shoes is really disheartening. I’m glad to hear your break-in progress hasn’t been too bad. I heard Nick’s can be a bear because of all of the leather. Great after the break-in, but all the leather can be hard on the feet. I’d love to see an update video since it’s a year on now. Cheers!

I'm going to subscribe , hoping that you review these boots in a bit . Oh yes, I ordered the Urban Drifter too and I was torn between the British tan chromexcel and the brown waxed flesh. Ultimately decided to go with the brown waxed flesh and I think I kind of regret it now 😂😂.

So I’ve had my Builder Pros for 3 weeks, they are breaking in quite nicely, and they are already my favorite boots, far surpassing the former number 1 Corcoran Jump Boots. Thinking about a pair of Travelers for days off with the wife. Cheers!

Great review covering a lot of good content. Definitely be cautious when deciding whether or not to use Nicks' branded obenauf's heavy duty lp. It will darken leather considerably just as Abby demonstrated in the video, so if your boots are anything other than black or walnut, think twice unless darkening is the goal. And anyone interested in them, really consider going stock boot again like Abby did, because despite what Shylar Moe says, their lead times are still ridiculous and not getting any better. I'd hate to see what he thinks a bad lead time is.
Very impressive boots, give us a later update after you wear them more! the lighting was nice in your video it was a clear picture as opposed to most videos shot inside with home lighting!

I'm just over a week into a pair of Builder Pros in 1964 leather, break-in is not bad at all, the boots are really starting to mold to my foot like a well conditioned baseball glove. I'm going to use Saphir too, nothing but the best for the best boots!
Thanks for the review. It’s definitely difficult to get reviews and boots 🥾 for women. If you’re looking for hiking boots check out Danners Mountan Light II $400. As far as conditioning, I use Lexoil which doesn’t affect the color of leather and does an amazing job of conditioning and is not expensive. It’s all I’ve ever used on saddles aside from cleaning with a bar of glycerine saddle soap and water and a brush. 👍🌞☮️🌟🥾

I think you are the first other woman I’ve seen review Nicks! I’ve been wanting to get a pair of Urban Loggers. Its really amazing that they have sizes for women as well. I have a high arch and when it comes to women’s shoes you can never really find something that caters towards any deviation from the standard sizing and lasts so I’m always in a bit of pain by the end of a hike. Going down the good year welt rabbit hole has been the best thing to happen to me lol

Nice boots. Good review. I’ve been thinking about the Falcon or Robert in 1964 brown for casual use. I bought some Frank’s last year and I’ve been trying to convince my wife how awesome all the PNW boots are lol.
I got the Roberts in Predator Orange, and have been very happy with them! Initially, it seemed a bit bright for me, but after breaking in and the 1st conditioning, they are beautiful! And the arch support is awesome!
From what I can tell, the only real difference between the urban logger and drifter is the logger vs block heel. And the brown waxed flesh is such a nice choice! Thanks for watching:)

I have the Urban Drifters too. I love them. One nit is that the sole does not seem well trimmed to fit the profile of the boot in the instep area. It is very wide. I think the boots would look a little sleeker and more versatile if the were trimmed to the profile of the upper a little tighter. Thoughts?

I use the neutral saphir on just about all my leather boots and shoes. Keeps them conditioned with a slight shine that you can bring back with a quick buff.
Obenoufs messed up my beautiful Hanwag Tashi Yak leather boots!! Turned the color way darker. Its fine on black boots. Great call on the saphir renovateur! Its my go to on all of my other boots. Peace
if you want a great boot to wear with scrubs, i wear my JK 300s with wedge soles. sooooo comfy but very supportive so zero tired feet and ankles at the end of a 12 hr shift.
Very heavy boots. I have two pairs of Builder Pro's. One on the 55 last and the other on the HNW moderate last. The ones on the 55 last are 10 inches high and over 4 pounds per boot. The moderate arch boots are 8 inches high and over 3 and a half pounds per boot. Wear them as much as you can and they will become the most comfortable pair of boots you've ever had. You may also want to think of getting a second pair so when you send these back for a resole or rebuild you are not without boots. On that note I am looking at getting a third pair.
I was definitely impressed with the weight. I have pretty small feet, but each boot weighs about 3lbs. And I’ll definitely be getting a new pair at some point! Thanks for watching:)

Those are more substantial than I thought, I went went the 55 urban logger in brown waxed flesh instead though.
From what I can tell, the only real difference between the urban logger and drifter is the logger vs block heel. And the brown waxed flesh is such a nice choice! Thanks for watching:)

I recommend Bick 4 for all leather. It doesn't darken leather and it's very hard to over-condition with it.

I have the Urban Drifters too. I love them. One nit is that the sole does not seem well trimmed to fit the profile of the boot in the instep area. It is very wide. I think the boots would look a little sleeker and more versatile if the were trimmed to the profile of the upper a little tighter. Thoughts?

I use the neutral saphir on just about all my leather boots and shoes. Keeps them conditioned with a slight shine that you can bring back with a quick buff.

if you want a great boot to wear with scrubs, i wear my JK 300s with wedge soles. sooooo comfy but very supportive so zero tired feet and ankles at the end of a 12 hr shift.
I wear boots in scrubs sometimes. Just clean them up good. They would be fitting for a rainy day.

Very heavy boots. I have two pairs of Builder Pro's. One on the 55 last and the other on the HNW moderate last. The ones on the 55 last are 10 inches high and over 4 pounds per boot. The moderate arch boots are 8 inches high and over 3 and a half pounds per boot. Wear them as much as you can and they will become the most comfortable pair of boots you've ever had. You may also want to think of getting a second pair so when you send these back for a resole or rebuild you are not without boots. On that note I am looking at getting a third pair.
I was definitely impressed with the weight. I have pretty small feet, but each boot weighs about 3lbs. And I’ll definitely be getting a new pair at some point! Thanks for watching:)

Oliver Cabell, Koio, Crown Northampton, etc. Disclaimer: I own a pair of Crown Northampton whole cut with Horween leather. They are comfy (took 3-4 wears to break in), durable and luxurious.
It’s been six months. How are they working out? I need some rugged hiking boots too, but these aren’t marketed for that purpose. Do they work as a hiking boot?
