I was there in 98 for the original! Was amazing, I've also seen one land with landing gear failure but Goodwood is grass runway so it just slid along and then seen one crash onto the track where I think both pilot and passenger died I was only young always loved the noise of the spitfire
An American pilot in a P51 did a low pass under a bridge and said to Ray "I almost took a duck's head off". Ray went next and replied" How do I get a trout out of my air intake?"
@@kingcurry6594 ahhhhhaaaaaa great story kingcurry......I love the start of the Battle of Britain film when you see the Me 109's (merlin engined hispanos)screaming in over the airfield at hedge top height just about the time the Sargeant is about to set fire to the "lame ducks" has to be one of the most exciting pieces of flying sequences ever...in my opinion 😁
Simply excellent. What a joy to see. And Ray Hanna, what a gifted pilot. 🔥
Ray was a legend, both Ray & Mark sadly missed
WHAT REAL AIRCRAFTS! John P.

What a legendary pilot Ray Hannah was R.I.P and respect 🤝🙏🕊️
Its not him in the video.
Still an amazing plane after all these years, there is nothing like the sound of the Spitfire... Bobby_G
I know this man. Crying
I think Ray was much lower!
Ray and Mark were outstanding as pilots and as people. The opening and closing of a chapter in aviation.
Ray was indeed lower ... what a great pilot.
So do I......at least 10ft lower....

Wow, just wow!
indeed
Nothing lower than this pass! ua-cam.com/video/4iOoiEbtf2w/v-deo.html
Is there any record of the speed and altitude set during this pass as well at the original ?
Your title is very wrong.
Not only it isn't Ray flying the two seat spitfire, that actual aircraft didn't fly until after Ray had passed away.
Keep up. The first clip was Ray Hanna
Nahh. Ray was miles lower than that man
And of course "elf n safety" would never allow it if a crowd was there! What a pathetic nation we have become!
Terrible music! Why do film makers do this? Surely the sound of a Merlin is what the viewer wishes to hear...not some ruddy orchestra!!
I was about to add the same comment. Ruined it for me 😫
