I'm coming out of a deep depression that started after my mother passed away. My home started to feel overwhelming because I got so much of her stuff and I tend to also shop a lot as well as havjng a child. I have been coming out slowly but surely by addressing small areas every day and sorting/donating/selling items. Also going through my things and actually using the organization supplies I bought but never opened. As someone that gets easily overwhelmed by big tasks this video was a godsend today. I'm trying to come out of a major depression myself. In the middle of putting up Christmas decor, I was told my landlord was selling my home. Sent me into a tailspin. I appreciate the small steps, as well.

I’ll tell you, cleaning as you go on a daily basis makes life so much easier. If I use my microwave, I wipe it down inside and out. If I cook on my stove, I clean it afterward. I clean my sink after washing the dishes. It might sound like too much work but you won’t have to do any deep cleaning which is a drudgery. When I take a shower and get ready to dry myself off, I first dry the faucet and handle. It stays looking shiny and freshly cleaned all the time. My microwave is about 12 years old but looks brand new. It just makes you feel good when everything is clean and not in need of deep cleaning.
I also try to load the dishwasher, wipe & clean as I cook, put compost items in a container as I peel & chop. Then, finishing cleaning after we eat. Only takes a few minutes 😀. Now, if I could just get husband to do this, my kitchen would look fabulous 😀 80-90% of the time 😀

After cooking any food there’s steam inside the microwave. I grab some paper towels and wipe it all down right then. No need to wait.

I throw some cut up lemons into a bowl of water and steam the mic. That way, the lemon juice cuts thru the grease and leaves a nice scent.

You can also use the rind after you have squeezed the juice, it saves you so much of the good stuff and does the job just as well
When buying new pillows also buy pillow protectors. They can be removed for washing and they keep the pillows as new for many years. This avoids the need to wash pillows.
Definitely. Not sure why ppl do not use them. I wash mine weekly or every other week

@@craftysoutherner2023 word of advice - only get the cotton pillow protectors. Some of them are made of a plastic-type material and they move around and make noise.

Deep Clean!!
Last week I did the main bathroom deep clean. I took the toilet seat seat off, I took the shower curtain and liner down washed them really well. I vacuumed the fan/ light, scrubbed the shower walls, cleaned the mirrors, light switch, sink …. Oh yea… super satisfying AND the bathroom smells amazing now!
I shampooed my living room rug a couple weeks ago and just that alone made the space smell and feel better! Next I’m going to tackle the top of my kitchen cabinets and the decor that is there. But I do need to clean my air vents badly! Thank you so much for all of your tips and tricks!!🤗
Deep Clean. It's difficult for me to do a deep clean in my home right now. I had brain surgery this year, and I'm still recovering. So I have someone come into my home to help clean it once a month. You have the best tips for keeping it clean in between, they're easy enough that I can do them! Thank you!
I'm disabled so here are some of my tips:
*Daily shower spray help in between. If you have glass and have the energy can use a squeegee. But after the shower has been cleaned if you can just spray it each time helps a lot. Make sure to spray your shower curtain liner too.
*The swifter pet hair type is good if you have pets for floors if you don't have energy to vaccum.
*One of those cheap spray mops for quick spot cleaning in-between.
*The swifter on a longer extendable stick for cobwebs or general dusting. I usually start with lighter areas then save the gross dirty stuff for last to make sure I'm using it up to not waste it!
*Unscented baby wipes are pretty safe on any surface and I keep them in bathrooms and in the kitchen. Big game changer because you can wipe up quick spills or wipe down a counter.
I buy the swifter and baby wipes at a wholesale club when they have coupons available. It's a splurg for us but I found out I wasn't able to keep up with the laundry of cleaning microfiber clothes for that type of cleaning.
On really bad weeks you are just wiping down spots if you can't wipe down a whole counter. Having supplies right where you need them helps a lot too so you are not wearing yourself out going back and forth to get them.

Andrea, the "10 Things People With Clean Homes Do Every Single Day" video made me feel like I wasn't as crazy as some members of my family thought I was! I am a "clean-as-you-go" person, I've cleaned like this my entire life, and I have always felt like I am "something extra" or even a bit crazy when it comes cleaning. Watching that video made me feel like I was doing the correct thing because I clean my home every day and I do every single thing on that list every single day! I don't have to "deep clean" my home because I spot clean it every day.

DEEP CLEAN: I never knew that I was to clean my dishwasher filter. Well, I did it today and I almost threw up. Thank you for letting us know about this.
For the a/c vents… I vacuum them every time I vacuum the room. I add the pole attachment to my vacuum and do a quick sweep using the brush piece. Do it when I do the baseboards and it’s a quick way to stay on top of it.

We removed the carpet out of our house when our eldest was a baby. It was the best health move we've made. No allergies, hardly sick, no shoes in the house either.
I got the dishwasher tabs, the washing machine tabs, and the multi purpose cleaner tabs. So much space saved under my sink and they work!!

I love those smells, but you have to be very careful if you have cats or small dogs. Cats are very sensitive to lemon and herbs.

Make sure if your pillows are down or feathers that you do a few extra tumble dry (just air) after drying to ensure your feathers/down are completely dried. Nothing ruins those expensive wonderful pillows like mildew. Great tips!! Don't forget to toss a few lemon peels down the sink disposer to get it smelling fresh and clean. If you have a smell coming from the sink, make sure to remove and clean that rubber in the sink drain area. Deep Clean!

I admit, I always raised my eyebrow at your taking skinny tools and taking the time to clean the crevices. So in my kitchen floor mopping / shining time, I took out a butter knife and a towel and cleaned out the crevices on my range & stovetop. You were RIGHT, it is immensely SATISFYING to see no stuck on crumbs or stains, and of course, it did not take but a minute or two. Also I tried your hack to use a spatula to tuck in sheets. I kind of felt like a fool the first time with a spatula and my sheets, YET it worked!!!! Nothing else has worked: I bought the weird garter things for the sheet corners, that was just plain silly. I bought expensive sheets, king sized, that were for deep mattresses; they did not stay on until I used your hack. It’s been 8 days and the sheets are still tucked in. You are brilliant. Thank you so very much for all your strategies and shortcuts and recommendations!!!!!!!!❤

How do you clean stove grates?
For your ceiling fans, there is a tool that has a hole in the middle that you can run over your ceiling fans right through the middle of them and clean it and then wash the tool much easier and more efficient and cheaper because you can wash it plus you’re not using any chemicals

Deep clean. This video was very informative. One thing I do want to question is the tip about rinsing the HEPA filter on the vacuum. I have read that you should not do this because water ruins the fibers and makes a HEPA filter ineffective. 😣

I watch to get inspired. Thanks. I go to school full time for nursing ang and that means studying full time too. Clraning as you go is what I recommend, but then you start going blind to the corners dust bunnies. I have always dusted while talking on the phone to my MIL. May that woman live forever.❤
Study, read for twenty minutes, and make short hand written notes of chapters. Take a ten-15 minute break. During break time, do something like throw a load of clothes in the washer. When time is up, study another 20-25 minutes & repeat the process, putting clothes in the dryer or folding a load of clothes, etc..... Do this until chapters are finished. EACH NIGHT QUICKLY READ OVER WHAT YOU WORKED ON THE EVENING BEFORE. THEN START THE NEXT CHAPTER OR TAKE UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF.
My house has never been cleaner since nursing school. Not to mention, I made A's & B's all thru school. More A's than B's.
This technique helps you to remember & retain what you learned in that short period of time as you as you think about key points you read or wrote. Take at least 5 min to NOT think about anything you studied. Think pleasant thoughts.
The night before a test, read your notes through. Reread, & study what you don't know or understand. Then get up an hour early & just read through notes. Right before the test, flip through notes quickly & especially items that may give you pause. You'll be pleasantly surprised when you ace the test. Also, it makes studying for Boards easier. Happy nursing.

I love your content! My question is how do you clean the actual grates on the stove? The stove was here when we moved here. It's in desperate need of a scrubbing. I've tried everything. I've even tried the baking soda Dawn combo. Please help...I don't know what else to try. Thanks so much
