He is more graceful than most women. Honestly, this is just beyond perfection.

Excellent video and perfectly presented. This dance makes me think of the continuity of stillness. Even the slightest movement is balanced and could be a marvellous photo. It is funny that the voice position of the singer is exactly the opposite of what is considered beautiful in the west. That is the shrieking, white and throat sounds, inadmissible by the rules set by opera for example.Yet beauty is splendidly revealed .

yes she /he is a man, this kubuki ,women did not perform in public, only the geisha, and just like women in shakespeare's time they did not perform on stage, this is traditional play

@pasa6370 Most Kabuki players are men, including the female roles. Not sure why, jut tradition. Women used to also be in kabuki... then they weren't. *shrugs*

did you just say he!!??? that was a he!? I thought japanese culture is heavily male domenated: dancing for women, hard labor for men

The narrator is annoying. I hate those clipped consonants. Freaking irritating. I can't even enjoy the dance with music cause I'm watching it on mute cause his voice drives me crazy.
