Thank you for another fantastic upload ... and what a lovely story, perfect for Kabuki. It's become a new favourite. I love it. If you didn't mention the fact that this play was written in the 1950's, I'd be convinced that it was from a time much earlier than that. It's no wonder there was such faith in the production, on the part of the actors. Oh, and the actors who play the horses do a fantastic job. I'm reminded of the stage adaptation of the Michael Morpugo novel, War Horse, where the horse was a large puppet manipulated by puppeteers - the Kabuki actors playing horses would do a much better job. Keep up the great work.
I am looking forward to seeing the play in Portland Oregon in May - a production at Portland State University directed and produced by Prof. Laurence Kominz.
Thank you! It’s good to see a happy ending and smiling people every so often..what a delightful story!
I adore this play, so light and fun! Tama and Kanzo seem perfect for their roles-very cool his sons took on the roles:*)

This one seems like a lot of fun. It has a lot of meta references to kabuki, so I bet seasoned fans really enjoy finding all of these hidden jokes.
This is lovely! I had no idea Mishima had written a kabuki play.

That's wonderful! Kominz's productions are always highly praised, I hope to get the chance to see one of them live myself.
I loved it, thank you for uploading! :)
