    The only thing that has changed in drivers since the COR limits were put in place is how forgiving a driver is. Rocco Mediate said it best, he's a PGA pro and his driver needs to be in the 2500-2600 spin area to be playable. Everyone that goes and buys the new Cobra that gets 1900 spin and 65 -70 feet of height are soon to find out they simply have no control over it. A driver that carries 260 and finishes 300 in farmer john's corn field is no good to anyone. Who is in the finals of these driver brackets every year? Mizuno, Tour Edge, Ping....constantly. Look at this graph, Cobra at 1800 spin is all over the place and Tour Edge at 2500 is a small white circle. The phrase, "our newest hot driver" is probably the most misleading line ever attached to drivers by major golf companies.

    I was fitted for Mizuno STZ January 2022. After playing with it for season love it. I have 95-100mph club head speed and the distances Thomas was getting were spot on to what I get and I'm 55+. My last round of year in October was Buffalo Ridge in Branson and my Driver average total distance was 272 yards.

    I have hit practically every one of these and I'm in agreement. the title is TSR2 was by far the best for me personally. stealth was a close second but the title is just looks beautiful to the eye. so if you're looking at a combination of performance anesthetical appeal, the titleist was an easy choice for me. then again I'm biased. I'm playing with titleist irons vokey wedges and a Scotty so another manufacturer was going to really have to woo me with numbers to get me to not purchase the titlelist and fortunately for me it didn't happen. My numbers were overwhelming with the TSR2 as the best performer

    I love how politically they describe the sound of the Ping and the Tour Edge 🤣. I have the Rogue ST Max and it sounds amazing, but it sets up too closed. I'm unusual in that I've traditionally played Stealth +, M1, Epic SZ etc and went for the Rogue Max to get forgiveness. I'm thinking of getting the Rogue ST Max in 10.5 and lowering loft to open the face. The efficiency of the TSR 2 is impressive, but it shouldn't be in this test. It should be the TSi2. I'd love to see Thomas hit these at full speed. There are a bunch of players like me looking for forgiveness, but who are 105-110 SS

  • @codycook3382
    @codycook3382 Рік тому

    Just because someone doesn't hit it as good, or as far as Thomas, does not mean they should be fit into only the most "forgiving" models. I don't hit it that great or that far, but I have always been fit into the lower spin heads. My swing speed is only 103 to 106, but my miss is an over draw or even a little hook. I also carry too much spin. These problems are compounded by these heads. I just got fit into the titleist tsr3 with 60 gram 6.0 project x hzrdus black shaft. I love it. I don't love the feel of the shaft, but it works well. What are a couple similar profile shafts, but with some more feel?

      The callaway is every bit as good or better than any of these other drivers. The loft could havd been adjusted a little and he obviously wasnt hitting the middle of the face with it either. Still even with sll that going againat it it was 3rd in carry distance.

  • @alysgolfstudio567
    @alysgolfstudio567 2 роки тому +1

    Two things. First while I realise why you were using the same shaft is it not the case that some shafts suit certain heads better than others? Second though I was using stealth I recently switched to the tsi1 which has given me much better results - carry distance, more optimal spin numbers, better launch and trajectory and reduced dispersion. Tsr1 not out yet and don’t expect it to be that much different to the tsi1 for such a player. Again different shafts in each to suit the heads more.

    • @jazzyjay4595
      @jazzyjay4595 2 роки тому +2

      Is the second one a question or just for you to talk about yourself? Anyways, the shaft is build for the player, not the head. The shaft will create a consistent swing with the right bend profile. The head generates the numbers. If you had this guy swing 10 times with the TSR2 and 5 different shafts, I bet the numbers wouldn’t be that different and it would mostly come down to strike location consistency rather than shaft characteristics. You could put him in an AirSpeeder 45g and a Ventus black 7X and he would likely swing about the same with both and the launch/spin numbers would surprise you with how close they are

    • @alysgolfstudio567
      @alysgolfstudio567 2 роки тому

      @@jazzyjay4595 noted. Yes consistency of strike point is obviously key - I raised the question because some fitters suggest that certain shafts suit certain heads better. Maybe it is due to variation in swingweight or at least that was my takeaway. But good to get a view. Thanks.
