Another great interview and she looks amazing too. Interesting to learn Niki Paull hadn't enjoyed her time on Prisoner. I wonder if perhaps there were cliques within the cast that people dont talk about in their interviews. I also recall an interview by another Prisoner cast member (cant remember who) who once said the actress playing Zara Moonbeam didnt have a good time on the show either. Anyway, another great interview...cant wait til the next.
We hope to have Niki Paull on our show at some stage. I guess there will be people that might not have enjoyed their time on the show. Glad you enjoyed the interview.
When Lisa's head rose from the sink and we learnt that she had undergone a full head transplant since the last episode I remember thinking "who's she?!!". Loved Terri's portrayal of Lisa and for me she became a favourite character in the last few months of the programme.
@@TalkingPrisoner Definitely. That was one of the things with Prisoner. Anything could happen! I actually preferred Terri's portrayal of Lisa compared to the original actress.
@@TalkingPrisoner I first started watching Prisoner aged 12 when it first aired in the Central TV area of England. I remember publicity advertisements for it. There was a woman marking a wall with a pen counting down the days until the first episode (and the pun was that she was a prisoner marking down days until release). I still remember the night episode 1was shown, Saturday 25th April 1987. I loved the programme from the first episode.
Man there's a teenage crush from when I first watched prisoner in mid 90's about 95 asides from her looks also something bout her accent too. Still looking phenomenal 😊
RE Terri's comment about the episode where she loses her voice and starts to use sign language.....in episode 653 where Lisa Mullin's character is played by the first actress there is a scene in the Laundry where she mentions having parents who had to sign...so when she loses her voice that's how she knows sign language, from her parents, making the assumption one or both her parents were deaf.
Terrie's Lost Child Complex book sounds fascinating. Perhaps you could ask what she thinks the central concept and mythology of Prisoner is. What is the essence of Prisoner that keeps us hooked and wanting more even decades later and that even Wentworth couldn't fully satisfy? Is redemption a life sentence?
@@TalkingPrisoner I think Louise Siversen touched on this in an interview she gave to Timeout years ago and mentioned briefly in your interview with her. She said: “But actually, that is why people became completely taken up by it, because they either follow the character in terms of their ability to do things outside the parallel of what is perceived as being female or they imagined themselves being able to be in that state and have that state of confidence.” "I think what is interesting is that a lot of people loved her [Lou Kelly] for a whole range of reasons. When I was in London, I sat with this couple that were at this dinner. She was a teacher and I think he worked in finance. Gorgeous people, probably in their late 20s, so they were not of the time when it was on. They had watched the DVD and it was on air in the UK for quite some time. For some reason, they fell in love with Lou and became obsessed by her. I understood that this was most likely not their usual style of television and then I found out, through the unravelling of the conversation, that they had had a child and their child had died. And from this, they got into the habit of watching late night Prisoner very shortly after the child had died. I thought, why would you do that? The man said to me that they became obsessed by Lou and what she represented. And I thought, why? And as I walked away, I thought to myself, I think I know why. They would have been angry and would have had nowhere to put it and they felt trapped by this loss. So (there were) all these things that they could identify with and they could not play that out. What they were watching in her was that she played it out, like they were projecting all their anger into that person…"
Coral Drouyn brings us closer to an answer in your third interview with her. She says: “ … I’m all about redemption … “ ua-cam.com/video/g0bw-mHROHk/v-deo.html “ … I know but what sort of redemption is that …” ua-cam.com/video/g0bw-mHROHk/v-deo.html
I have always admired actor's who want to do different things and not just play the same character. Bill Roache takes the biscuit because he as been in Coronation Street since 1960 🧐.
Thanks for reading out my question. You should have credited her as DR Terrie Waddell 😉 - I just googled her, cos I realised after watching this she clearly has a PhD! Brainy woman!!
@@TalkingPrisoner I did. It was a shame she was a tad vague about Prisoner but she made an interesting point that actors sometimes don't recall the unremarkable scenes - the ones that went well - so vividly. She's an interesting woman - different to most of your working actor guests who have a very different mindset!
We all forgave wobbly walls because I think we were so fascinated at being taking to another world we didn't see often on Tv that preoccupied us .. also just prior to the advent of the home video cassette recorder we didn't have availability to record and play back at will (certainly not in the earlier days of Prisoner) television like we do today. It's much easier now to think we've noticed a wobbly wall or a flimsy set and play back to satisfy our suspicions! TV production cant get away with what they used to !
I am coming towards the end of the series -a gain, where Rita has just been diagnosed with cancer. I watched episode . 686 Rodney seeks his revenge on Lisa Mullins and wanted background info on her so pulls her file out. When the file is open we see Lisa Mullins mugshots and she has black hair. When she first entered the prison she was a platinum blonde at the induction.
@@TalkingPrisoner This is my third time on the DVD set ... but saw a lot of it on two UK TV station re-runs ... and saw bits and pieces of it as it aired in on TV in NZ in the 80s ...(I think I would have been 11 when PCBH debuted in NZ) When Prisoner aired in New Zealand it actually aired Monday - Friday in with the day time soaps! Every weekday at about 2 or 2.30pm - we were a little behind hence the daily airing.
"Second incarnation"? Makes her sound like a regeneration of Doctor Who!! Haha. Love it.
Another outstanding interview guys thanks. She hasn't AGED!!!!! Wow looks amazing.
Thank you for your kind words

It was a very sudden change haha. I thought it was great. Very rare to change a character like that on TV.

Thanks so much for your kind words Richard. Have you seen all the interviews now ?
@@TalkingPrisoner Yes i have indeed,Looking forward to Pepe Trevor.
Such a wonderful and enjoyable interview. How great is Terrie. 🙂⭐💜 Love it when you guys go off topic. Very entertaining!
Terrie was amazing to speak with. I love going off topic, Matt
I always remember Lisa (as played by Terrie) as having the sexiest voice in probably the entire PCBH run. Just something about how she talked.
She was a great character
Looking forward to listening to this on my drive to work. Great efforts as always!

Terrie is Beautiful and was so amazing to talk and interview her.
I don't think i would have recognized her if i saw her and didn't know already that it was her. She looks and sounds so different now.
Still looks amazing. Did you enjoy the interview ?

When she's talking about original extras, she's referring to Hazel Henley and Barbara Jungwirth (Tina and Lorna)

Should have accepted the Astra Zeneca sooner.
Who ?
Shes still great looking for her age and has taken care of herself exponentially
for her age?
