    Faye was one of my favourites. She seems so warm and friendly, but always found herself at the mercy of the power hungry women.

    Thank you so very much for this wonderful interview. I absolutely adore Anne. I was one of a handful of Yanks at the 30th anniversary Prisoner celebration back in 2009. Somehow I managed to miss Anne during the day, even though she was one of my favorites. Near the end of the day. I slipped off to explore the Global Studios grounds. Seemingly away from everyone else, as I walked alone, I saw a woman approaching me in the distance. As we grew closer to one another, I realized she was Anne. I called her by name, and she stopped. Although it was a Prisoner event, I had to ask her about The Young Doctors and her role as Sister Eve Turner. I can still recall the startled expression in her face. She must have wondered how in the hell an American would know anything about The Young Doctors. But, just as she appears onscreen, she’s a very gentle and generous lady in real life. She answered all of my questions and was just lovely. It was my first visit to Australia and one of my happiest memories of the holiday.

    I’ve found both her and Ian’s interviews absolutely incredible. It’s nice to hear from some more behind the scenes voices in the show offering some different stories and more technical detail.

    Very Informative Interview, As a Fan we expect an Actor to remember every detail of a Popular Series, with Prisoner we tend to forget that the Series is 35-40 years old...Nobody will remember every detail unless they took notes at the time....Anne Lucas did very well with her memories and recalling of events...and she admitted when she didn't remember....nice flow to the Interview enjoyed it very much....Thank you Matt & Ken for your work in putting these shows together...

    I always watch the interview twice just to make sure I didn't miss anything.I Enjoyed this interview immensely.Anne Lucas is very articulate. I was hoping she would mention the switch with her and Jane Clifton doing the book. Now I know why. Jane was in and out of the series more than any other actress and I always assumed it was because of her singing conflicts. I think Anne Lucas confirmed that. I enjoyed the comments about Australian television. They reminded me of growing up with TV here in America in the 50s and 60s. I remember the test patterns well. 😊

    Another brilliant interview. I love the informality of these. Some really interesting topics mentioned too. I am very interested in film and tv archiving and it’s so sad that much of the tv from the 1960s and early 70s in particular has been lost. Imagine if Prisoner had been made 10 years earlier? Loved the Young doctors too one of the first Aussie tv shows I watched back in the UK I was about 8 years old when they started airing it in my tv region. Nola McKenzie was such a great villain but never understood why she was so afraid to be extradited back to WA since no one had been executed there since 1964! Met Ian Smith at one of the “neighbours nights” in St kilda back in 2004, he seemed irritated when I mentioned Prisoner! It was really good of Anne to share her story of PND. Keep up the good work guys, you are doing great!

      Thanks for your kind words and support. I remember the Neighbours nights, they were fun. Did you hear about what the ABC did to the master tapes of Bellbird ?

    • @bucksby
      @bucksby 3 роки тому +1

      I have never seen an episode of Bellbird yet apparently it was briefly shown in the UK in 1972. The Wikipedia page states lots of episodes were found recently so there is hope yet. It would be great to see them as so many future PCBH stars appeared.

    • @TalkingPrisoner
      @TalkingPrisoner  3 роки тому

      @@bucksby Oh i will have to check as the last I heard was they taped all over the master tapes, I hope you are right as we would love to see them also.

    • @bucksby
      @bucksby 3 роки тому

      Apparently the Australian centre for moving image has a black and white episode to view (this place is a must visit when I come back to Melbourne) I suspect the archive status of Bellbird will be a bit like the early years of the UK show Croasroads, most will be lost but something will survive to give viewers a flavour of what it was like. There must be a fair few episodes from 1976/77 still around.

    Episode 12 already, such a highlight when we get notifications of a new edition of Talking Prisoner. Personally I've loved ever episode and this one with Anne was no excepting. One thing that seems to be a constant in each episode is the mutual respect show between Cast, Crew, Writters and Directors. Perhaps thats why theres so much heart in the series. Big thanks to Anne for taking part and looking forward to episode 13 already!!

    I can understand that Anne didn't know that it was Woodridge, not Barnhurst that the women were transferred to after the fire since she wasn't a part of that storyline but Matt and Ken should have known. We do not see Barnhurst again after Bea leaves from there and hits her head on the way back and gets amnesia.

    Faye Quinn is responsible for a line that my sister and I still use on each other to this day. It was when the Freak was transferring her to another block. She basically tells Faye she will be leaving and Faye in her soft, little girl voice asks "what you going to do with me?" Freaks says "transfer" and Faye says "where to?" Freak says "another block" and Faye (dropping the innocent voice) snaps "you old bitch!" We laughed so hard at that line

    • @PaulDoe79
      @PaulDoe79 3 роки тому

      @@TalkingPrisoner yes, 2 of my sisters and my parents (both dead now) watched the show as a family when my father was stationed in the UK back in the 80s. We didn't realize Prisoner had already ended in 1986 as we were watching reruns. When we moved to the US in August 1989 we were so upset as we couldn't keep watching Prisoner. It wasn't until 2004 that we ordered the entire series (burned on DVD) and since then we watch episodes at least once a week.
