I think we should have a word with the taxi driver. I said I know!
i had a dream where i was in the restroom, and i got out of the stall and the Luteces were in front of the door and they said "hand sanitizer or hand soap"
The Lutece twins were my favorite character(s) in the game. It's a shame voice acting doesn't get enough credit like film and television acting does. If that were the case, these two would be award winning.
Rosalind: Odd isn't it ? Robert: What's odd ? Rosalind: The fact that we sometimes... Robert: ...finish each other's sentences. Rosalind: Exacly ! Robert: It would be odder if we didn't. Rosalind: Hm... *best conversation ever*
+David Warburton I can imagine the voices in my head during a multiple choice question in an exam. ROBERT: A? ROSILAND: Or B? ROBERT: Personal preference points me at A. ROSILAND: However nothing beats B. ROBERT: There is always C.
Shayne Carpenter They mean't that no matter which universe or timeline they are in, Booker never helps row the boat and they are poking fun at that fact.
Kaleb H I didn't get that referance for a while, and I think it's the only scene that should've been more elaborate, or referanced and elaborated on later :/
I'm so happy that they are both so nerdy and passionate about the game. There's so many voice actors that just show up for work and don't care about the content
i always come back to this interview to see the moment when Jennifer does the Intellectual speech about time and parallel and whether deja vu is dimension popping and then Oliver goes "i read words off paper".
Those two are freakin' perfect together! Wish they had a show or somethin. And yes indeed she's the female Shepard too. If she rocked this british accent in Mass Effect I'd find it even more awesome.
I love how you can hear the difference between Bastila and Cmdr. Shepherd. Bastila sounds young and arrogant while Shepherd sounds older and tired in Mass Effect.
As a massive fan of the Bioshock series and Infinite especially, this interview warms my fuzzy nerdy heart. These guys are so cool to have the sense of humour to go along with this skit :)
Oh my god, I love these two. The Luteces are easily two (one?) of my favorite characters in any game. The dialogue between them, the story behind them, it's all so brilliant, and these two do such an amazing job bringing them to life.
They are two entities representing the same person, both coming from different... Universes(?). So, it would technically be a *them* and a *he* or *her* at the same time. Except, of course, if you're talking about exclusively one of them.
I think it's genius that in auditions they had to read both parts as if they were having a conversation with themselves, because, as we know now, they were of course doing just that, since Robert and Rosalind are the same person.
The Lutece's had the best voiceactors. It's pretty much the voice and wonderful synergy that bought them to life as characters, and gave a whimsical feel to the later dark and serious atmosphere
Jennifer, Oliver: thank you. It's a hard thing to be both the deepest aspect of the exposition AND the comic relief in a game. The two of you walked that tightrope brilliantly.
"The question is simple: Cream." "Or sugar." "Cream?" "Or sugar?" "You can't go wrong with cream." "Smart money's on sugar." "Okay, so, if I make this decision, is that - is this going to matter in 20 minutes to an hour?" "No." "Or does it?" "Hm. Good point." "I know." "No, you don't." "I mean I will know." "No, you had to have had known."
Gladix Haha, yes that too but she was in Metal Gear almost 10 years before Mass Effect. She's the reason I played as Femshep my first three playthroughs.
She definitely bought into the character way more than he did. But it's so awesome to see this interview. I love when she went full-nerd with the quantum physics.
WOW, they're not really british???? Their accents were spot on!!!!!!! Absolutely perfect! I'm british and their accents were so good I thought they HAD to be british. Serious talent.
I love the lutece twins, the way they speak is so funny and confusing and I love how they're the same person but they constantly contradict each other in their normal speech.
The best thing was these guys would pop up in the creepiest parts, and it was always fucking amazing when you heard their music that some bickering was incoming
portals > Same world, Same Timeline, Different location. Tears> Different everything or exacley the same everything. Portals are limited, tears are infinite.

okay, so after the events of Bioshock the Luteces got bored of the 60s and travelled to the future to stop the invasion of the reapers. I mean wow I never expected Rosalind to be femshep
I never realized that Jennifer Hale was voice acting Rosalind in this game. Sure I knew she was in the game, but I thought she was doing Daisy Fitzroy for some reason. In any case, I loved them both as their respective Lutece`s, and they sure was an odd couple that was nothing like I imagined they would be beforehand.
I wish they made a podcast thing that just....explained the games Because nobody made theories on it, nobody even played it, it’s really not popular on UA-cam, and it’s sad
They should just go around being Lutece's in real life.
Yes
+Oguz FaN They'll be forced to repeat themselves.
+Oguz FaN Now I need to see them guest starring as the Lueteces in the Big Bang Theory :D Even if it was a dream sequence it would be fantastic lol
Perid0tStar YES
NO! Please no! I'd hate to meet them on the way to work.
You again!
No, YOU again!
What do you want this time?
The question is: What do YOU want this time? First Class?
...or second?
First class has all amenities of second.
...but so does second.
But first class has a few more.
...just like second.
So, a wise man will travel first class!
...but in second.
Wha?! Could you just let me on the train, please? I'm kinda in a hurry!
See? He IS in a hurry!
I see.
Even though he should know...
...that he has all the time in the world!
But not enough of that.
Or too much!
Too much?
Way too much!
No. Impossible!
Anyone in a hurry should travel second class!
Even if first class...
...will arrive there just as fast as second.
Only, much later.
You know what? I've had enough! Let me through!
Hm. What does he have there?
A Sky-Hook! I told you he had one!
No you didn't!
But I might any moment!
That one however does look...
...like he tried to use it on regular train tracks!
Which didn't work, of course.
Like we told him.
Did he ever do what we told him?
Rarely.
Yes. Almost as if he didn't listen to us.
Even though we never...
...said something that wasn't true.
True!
It was always right!
Always!
Only, when?
Well, that's what we need to find o... where is he going now?
He's taking the taxi!
Didn't I say it?
Correct!
Then what are we doing at the train station?
Good question. You know what?
Yes.
I think we should have a word with the taxi driver.
I said I know!
The concept of the Luteces is fucking brilliant
Agreed. In my opinion, was a saving grace of the game. I didn't care much about it but I continued to see more of them.
The game is fucking brilliant
trueeee
Qritical_91 it's fucking mythical
I think they're akin to the Cheshire cat being an Engish posh schizo.
i had a dream where i was in the restroom, and i got out of the stall and the Luteces were in front of the door and they said "hand sanitizer or hand soap"
what did you go for
Nicky Jennings i went for the sanitizer XD
HeyItsWho dreams are fascinating things aren't they? Wish I could dream.
I wonder how that choice changed the course of your dream Lol
Respect2theFallen oh it ended there, would have been fun if it did not though.
The funny thing is that you can hear the Lutece in her voice, but you can SEE the Lutece in his face.
Makes me wonder if they were modeled after the VAs
Literally Heads or Tails lol, "Voice or Face?"
If she changed her hair she would look more similar
The Lutece twins were my favorite character(s) in the game. It's a shame voice acting doesn't get enough credit like film and television acting does. If that were the case, these two would be award winning.
Yeah there fucking awesome.
actually they did won an award
They were really creepy, i just don't know why....
Sammy C Well, I kinda think they had a umm... really close relationship... closer than brother and sister I mean.
MinecraftPro15 ...uh... selfcest? kinda?
Rosalind: Odd isn't it ?
Robert: What's odd ?
Rosalind: The fact that we sometimes...
Robert: ...finish each other's sentences.
Rosalind: Exacly !
Robert: It would be odder if we didn't.
Rosalind: Hm...
*best conversation ever*
You're everywhere man
I'm bipolar, me literally talking to myself.
Robert: "Bird..."
Rosalind: "...or the Cage?"
Robert: "Or perhaps the Bird?"
Rosalind: "Nothing beats the Cage."
Robert: "Sugar..."
Rosalind: "...Or the cream?"
Robert: "Or perhaps the sugar?"
Rosalind: "Nothing beats the cream"
+Mr. Topkek The guy's "R" pronunciation sounds off for a british accent. Bugged me a little.
+David Warburton I can imagine the voices in my head during a multiple choice question in an exam.
ROBERT: A?
ROSILAND: Or B?
ROBERT: Personal preference points me at A.
ROSILAND: However nothing beats B.
ROBERT: There is always C.
+David Warburton
Rosalind: It would have had to have had been.
Robert: Had to have...had...been? That can't be right.
+Andile Gumbo hahaha totally the same.
"He DOESN'T row!"
"Oh, I see what you mean."
I don't -_- I never understood what that line was supposed to mean
Shayne Carpenter They mean't that no matter which universe or timeline they are in, Booker never helps row the boat and they are poking fun at that fact.
Kaleb H I didn't get that referance for a while, and I think it's the only scene that should've been more elaborate, or referanced and elaborated on later :/
Rai Alvis Nope, it's that in no universe does Booker help them row
I think "Row" was Rosalind shortened.
I'm so happy that they are both so nerdy and passionate about the game. There's so many voice actors that just show up for work and don't care about the content
Miss Hela
I’m not surprised that they’re passionate about the Bioshock series, considering that it isn’t some half-ass bullshit.
Hell yeah
I demand a Lutece talk show and/or podcast.
Still waiting
Nope
Still waiting....
Waiting still.
@@Agent-ux2vo Try waiting a little longer. I'm sure it will be different this time.
I want to hear there voices like all day
***** ok grammar police
+Jessy B woop woop
YOURE UNDER ARREST WEE WOO WEE WOO
i always come back to this interview to see the moment when Jennifer does the Intellectual speech about time and parallel and whether deja vu is dimension popping and then Oliver goes "i read words off paper".
I know it's hilarious!
still true for me! :) haha
i want a special Lutece xbox controller, i swear that would be so cool, can you imagine like one stick being a bird, and the other being a cage?
Player one's controller be themed after Rosalind and player two's been themed after Robert. That'd be cool
That's actually a cool idea.
Heads? Or tails?
Love it.
Those two are freakin' perfect together! Wish they had a show or somethin.
And yes indeed she's the female Shepard too. If she rocked this british accent in Mass Effect I'd find it even more awesome.
*English accent
She used it for Bastila in Knights of the Old Republic.
MaddBadgerr Also as the female Sylvari in Guild Wars 2 which is where I admit I heard it first so it was kind of trippy lol
MaddBadgerr Finally someone who recognizes xD
I love how you can hear the difference between Bastila and Cmdr. Shepherd. Bastila sounds young and arrogant while Shepherd sounds older and tired in Mass Effect.
i was looking for this comment
As a massive fan of the Bioshock series and Infinite especially, this interview warms my fuzzy nerdy heart. These guys are so cool to have the sense of humour to go along with this skit :)
Icon of Sin Videos big or small, I see your comments everywhere.
I love the way Jennifer delivered the line "You can't go wrong with cream"
That beginning was so incredibly in character, it was practically art.
The true masterminds of the whole story
Oh my god, I love these two. The Luteces are easily two (one?) of my favorite characters in any game. The dialogue between them, the story behind them, it's all so brilliant, and these two do such an amazing job bringing them to life.
They are two entities representing the same person, both coming from different... Universes(?).
So, it would technically be a *them* and a *he* or *her* at the same time. Except, of course, if you're talking about exclusively one of them.
Great Danton Or is it him in the parallel universe, or, are both of them from parallel universes, and the original is neither a he nor a she?
Jonathan Parker what about twins song in BaS part 2? They really sang it?
@@mastergamer398 Yeah you’re right.
I love how around 5:00 she talks about time and universe he looks at her exactly the way Robert always looks at Rosalind when she talks
6:27 is like straight from the game
Rosalind and Femshep voiced by this amazing woman: Jennifer Hale. I'm such a fan.
I love the ending. Funny.
It's too bad they didn't get the voice for Male Shep as well, would have been interesting.
You know Samantha Traynor's attraction to EDI's voice? Yeah. That's how I feel with Jennifer Hale's Voice.
She did Bastilla too yeah?
Strange to think Booker (Troy Baker) is also Kai Leng....
Palmieres Her other most famous role is Naomi Hunter in the Metal Gear Solid series as well.
This is Commander Lutece and this is my favorite video in Columbia.
7:07 my volume was so loud on this part
These two made bioshock infinite for me. anyone else see the juggling Easter egg?
Can't get over the fact that the person who voices Rosalind, Jennifer Hale, voices FemShep...
Also Trishka in Bulletstorm.
I've never played Bulletstorm, so I wouldn't know...but okay.
PwNaGeWaFfle54 Oh you sir just missed some of the best lines written in videogame history.
I feel the same way!I had no idea she voiced R.Lutece
She also voices Bastila Shan. Every time I hear Hale speak, I think of Bastila. :)
I (loved, love, will love) these two. In my opinion, they stole the show when it came to voice acting in Bioshock Infinite.
This game was one of my favorites. But these two are, by far, my favorite characters.
+TaydebearProductions well technically they are one character.
+weiner shnitzel Don't start. My brain isn't ready to be hurt again.
I'd love to see these two talking to a Judge, just to see how long he/ she could take the complex speech
Great interview! I just recently played Bioshock Infinite and the Luteces are easily one of the best parts of the game.
At some point in the game you're like....wait...the hell is with them?
***** For me it was the moment you saw robert drawing himself while looking at rosalind for inspiration.. I thought.. These two are fucking weird..
We're flattered.
Robert Lutece or are we?
Good point
Jennifer, Oliver: thank you. It's a hard thing to be both the deepest aspect of the exposition AND the comic relief in a game. The two of you walked that tightrope brilliantly.
For yanks, they sure pull off the "Queens English" accent well, Granted it's not perfect but probably the best i have heard from an American!
Better than most
these two are really adorable and I like how they played off each other
I've seen this interview many times and I still find it FASCINATING!. GREAT ARTISTS!
"The question is simple: Cream."
"Or sugar."
"Cream?"
"Or sugar?"
"You can't go wrong with cream."
"Smart money's on sugar."
"Okay, so, if I make this decision, is that - is this going to matter in 20 minutes to an hour?"
"No."
"Or does it?"
"Hm. Good point."
"I know."
"No, you don't."
"I mean I will know."
"No, you had to have had known."
She is so amazing. Ever since I heard her in Metal Gear Solid as Naomi I have followed her career. Jennifer Hale you are one of the best.
cough cough Mass effect, cough
Gladix Haha, yes that too but she was in Metal Gear almost 10 years before Mass Effect. She's the reason I played as Femshep my first three playthroughs.
fuck yeah
I kept pronouncing it as Lettuce. xD
the lettuce siblings :P
_siblings_
*ahem*
I cant help but smile
Smile, smiled, will smile.
WhatStef Help, helped, will help.
They work really well together!
The music that accompanies them is just perfect
2K games should add the Luteces randomly in their games as easter eggs or something like that because I would so play the game just to witness that.
She definitely bought into the character way more than he did. But it's so awesome to see this interview. I love when she went full-nerd with the quantum physics.
Well, it's no wonder. Rosalind is the real one of the twins. Robert is her AU version brought to original universe
The things I would do to meet them.
You already have met them, but in another reality
you have also met me
Mike Wasouki it doesn't work that way
Or does it ?
Constants and Variable
I loved these two in-game
I love their voice
They play so well off each other.
Oh, this was delightful. I love the Luteces! This interview is grat, thank you!
It suddenly came to my mind that KOTOR was 10 years ago
Whenever Jen uses her british accent all I hear is Bastila
Ellie Wooooooow, mind blown.
WOW, they're not really british???? Their accents were spot on!!!!!!! Absolutely perfect! I'm british and their accents were so good I thought they HAD to be british. Serious talent.
Ah jennifer hale with a British accent, there's just something so right about it. Still takes me back to kotor and the good old days
Femshep is such a great voice actress. I'm British and not many Americans can nail a good British accent like that.
I love the lutece twins, the way they speak is so funny and confusing and I love how they're the same person but they constantly contradict each other in their normal speech.
*Drops coins*
Rosalind: Oh look, they're all heads.
I just realized Rosalind’s voice actress is Ashe’s voice actress for Overwatch!!!
She's also the current VA for Cinderella.
Love how she talked about the wave-particle duality there.
Doft Chan Made me realize how dramatically better Ian Malcolm would have been if he been played by Sharon Stone or Sigourney Weaver.
I love how much a geek Robert Lutece's voice actor is.
5:00 STAHP YOU'RE HURTING MY BRAIN!!
Jennifer Hale! You sly devil! I never would have guessed you were in this game Commander Shepard!
I'm a Commenter and this is my favourite Video on the CItadel!
Hands down the best british accents from americans i've ever heard. i would have sworn they were fellow brits!
Fun Fact: Oliver Vaquer is also the voice of the DQ Lips for the Dairy Queen commercials back in the early 2000's
I wanna see them cosplay their actual characters and go around trolling people in real life!!! 😂😭❤️
Playing the game and watching this 2 perform is like watching a movie at the same time.
I did not know that Rosalind was voiced by Jennifer until i watched this. She is an amazing voice actor!
This game has one of the best voice actors that I've ever heard.. really, they all did such incredible job..!! *_*
ive had had known had have is what my brain felt like at the amazing ending.
The best thing was these guys would pop up in the creepiest parts, and it was always fucking amazing when you heard their music that some bickering was incoming
I was kind of disappointed that there weren't enough of them in the game ...
is thinking with tears easier or harder than thinking with portals?
You must think outside of the cage.
David Soael *The bird*
Cr1tikal's Fan nothing beats the cage.
Tears are pretty easy to understand. It's what gets done with them that's bonkers.
portals > Same world, Same Timeline, Different location. Tears> Different everything or exacley the same everything. Portals are limited, tears are infinite.
That are not British??? WoW
They*
Linh I wasn't sure about Robert but thought that Rosalind could be. Still had my doubts but really only saw it as a possibility.
I doubted some of the words she pronounced and her accent but that's probably more of the fact of what time it's set.
It is called voice acting for a reason
Even outside of their roles, these two voice actors have AMAZING chemistry. Seriously adore their back and forth banter.
It makes so much sense that they always recorded together because there is literally no point where one of them has a full sentence on their own
Great characters. Even we they drop Booker at the dock their conversation was still able to be heard
Booker catch
I read that in Elizabeths voice. 😂
mrniceguy same
much obliged
Potato456 is that a reference to Inside Gaming?
***** yeah i know but it could also be a reference to that hilarious inside gaming video ;)
"Why do you ask what? When the delicious question is when." Gotta love these two
I loved that intro they did XD
"Is this decision gonna matter in 20 minutes or so?"
THANK YOU.
Superbly casted!
the end of this video was tearible

Say my name!
okay, so after the events of Bioshock the Luteces got bored of the 60s and travelled to the future to stop the invasion of the reapers. I mean wow I never expected Rosalind to be femshep
“You’d had to have talked me into this.”
They totally look the part :D I want to see then all dressed and made up
I have to believe the male voice actor provided some of the in game model. That hair and facial structure. Amazing stuff!
I want to play this game only for these 2.
I Wish There was a spin off series or movie about the lettuce "twins"
Booker Catch!
That'll do!
I DIDNT REALIZE JEN WAS ROSALIND AND FEM SHEP WHAT THE FUCK---
I never realized that Jennifer Hale was voice acting Rosalind in this game. Sure I knew she was in the game, but I thought she was doing Daisy Fitzroy for some reason. In any case, I loved them both as their respective Lutece`s, and they sure was an odd couple that was nothing like I imagined they would be beforehand.
good lord I love them both and the relationship they have. Their characters and they're actual personalities in real life are everything.
I wish 2k was still here.
I absolutely love these two! They were one of the highlights of the Bioshock game alongside Troy Baker!!!
this is amazing
Lame
Why are you here?
David Warburton why asks why, when the delicious question is when.
"This is becoming rather awkward..."
I wish they made a podcast thing that just....explained the games
Because nobody made theories on it, nobody even played it, it’s really not popular on UA-cam, and it’s sad
Damn if they in our universe..... I'd better prepare some salt.
I love the luteces! 💓 best voice actors ever!
she has the sexiest voice ever with that accent lol
The Lutece twins remind me of professor Paradox from Ben 10 and those kinds of characters are such my favorites everytime. xD
