- TikTok’s fake "AI influencers" and their deceptive viral ads are absolutely out of control. So today, we’re breaking it all down! From AI-generated accounts pushing sketchy Afina shower filters to undisclosed product placements disguised as viral content, we’re exposing how brands are manipulating trust, engagement, and authenticity to sell us (in my opinion) absolute junk.
Let’s break down the engagement farming, shady influencer tactics, and MLM-style schemes behind it all...because this is just the beginning.
Have you spotted deceptive ads, influencers lying to sell us something, or hidden sponsorships? Send them my way, I want to hear it all!

starting to feel like i'm the only one who sees any ad or commercial and immediately declares the advertised product to be public enemy #1 and will refuse to ever purchase that item ever again.
YOURE JUST LIKE ME FR....
I’ll buy it if it’s not offensive, I wanted something like it anyway, and I want to support the creator. For example, a HelloFresh sub during the pandemic days when there were a hundred different rules about going outside and shopping at a physical grocery store, or a StoryBlocks sub when I needed some stock footage anyway. But that’s been happening less and less often lately and I’m down to having done this exactly zero times in the last year.
I've used products that I had 0 idea were viral on Tiktok and dropped them as soon as I found out. I just assume they're doing something wrong because statistically speaking, they likely are.
I'm right there with you.
There are a few of us out there. I'm one of them. Always felt ads were scammy.
Even before social media or internet.
There's something disgenuine about most ads being published
These posts drive me nuts along with the “I was a X for X years and just got fired and now I’m going to tell you all the secrets they don’t want you to know”
Media literacy is more important than ever now, this is disgusting marketing and truly gives me chills.😬 I’m NOT excited to see the future of AI in the marketing space.
I could not agree more!! I am at the very least very encouraged to see us all find this stuff interesting - hopefully the more we know, the less power these scammy companies have. thank you for watching 🫶
Utilize the ‘Not interested’, the ‘Don’t show me this’ and the ‘Report’ features. That will actually teach the algorithm that you AND potentially others like you are not interested in this type of content. The algorithm will eventually catch up if enough you flag this content as uninteresting. Engaging (commenting, liking, saving, etc.) with the content just marks the content as “interesting” (good or bad).
If I see one, I will def report
If you realize it’s an ad quickly scroll away within the first couple seconds, even more effective in my experience.
The problem is those buttons count as engagement and BOOST them in the algorithm
That's not what those buttons do. The content may be evaluated, but it might just be marked ss providing a strong emotional reaction and be shown to more people.
every time i press not interested it shows those types of posts MORE 🥲
My mom told me when I was a small child “If they are advertising on TV, it means the product isn’t going to work well/ there’s a reason they paid for an advertisment”
Who would have known that would have shaped my whole adulthood
It’s been 20 years since I lived in Japan but I can comment on some of the things mentioned.
1) The first woman to ever take maternity leave in my office took it in 2002. It was a HUGE deal. Although it was offered before then, people were really scared to take it. It’s important to point out that the birth rate in Japan is abysmal. Marriage rates are also declining. That’s in part because there are still more traditional gender roles and a work culture that is fairly hierarchical and focused on putting in long hours.
2) Grocery prices are high- higher than they are in the US. I went out to eat in Japan a lot more than I eat out here because it often cost just as much to make a meal at home as it did to eat out at an affordable place. I had friends who challenged themselves to spend 1000yen a day on food (roughly $7-8USD a day with the current exchange rate) and it was a lot of soups and whatnot. There are specific items that are quite expensive. Rice, a lot of fruits (not all- some citrus can be quite cheap), and a few other items are cost prohibitive. Depending on the fruit, a single fruit can cost $3-5, and for most those are special treats.
3) Clearly a person who talks about no processed food has never been in a Family Mart, 7-11, Lawson or other combini in Japan.
4) I never heard of that shower filter. I don’t know about water quality now but we had a permanent boil water restriction where I worked. They literally had people assigned to boil water duty so people would have water to use for tea, soup, coffee, etc. I was never told what was wrong with the water, but my guess would be something like lead pipes.
5) The Japanese physical often includes the dreaded barium swallow. Why, you might ask? Japan has historically high rates of esophageal cancer. Japanese people also routinely get the BCG vaccination for TB, which means that instead of having the prick tests like we have in the US for TB, they have to get x-rays.
It’s strange they picked Japan for this scheme. Japan is a country where it’s customary to take long baths. The shower itself is just to clean yourself to prepare for the bath. If you took a shower and then went into a bath without said filter, how would that possibly help? My bathroom had a wet room where I could program the bath to fill on its own if I wanted to.
I’ve lived in Japan since 2013 and it irritates me to see people do this on social media so I have a lot to say, haha. And you are right, all these things are false.
1. Housing and cost of living: you are correct
2. Maternity leave is longer than the US HOWEVER it is very common for women to suffer power harassment when they get back to work for taking said leave. I think depending on the type of job you can get long leave, but I’ve never taken it so I don’t know specifically.
3. We have processed foods and pesticides like anywhere else lol
4. I have never seen that shower head in my life. And most residential areas in cities have safe water
Yeah I lived in Japan from 2011~15 and I have to immediately click off from insufferable videos about "jApaN iS aMAziNg HeRE's wHy" from people who went there on a vacation or maybe spent a few months living only in Tokyo. There are a lot of things I really miss about living there (especially being in the US right now...), but most of those posts aren't just *kinda* wrong, they're totally opposite of the reality. What is the purpose of making Japan out to be some mythical place?? The misinformation about maternity leave and childcare is especially aggravating, on top of the weird appeals to red pill-y incel types.
Unless a video on "what it's like living in ____ country" is from a trusted creator whose content primarily focuses on something else, I don't trust it. 😒
Yeah like what developed area doesn't have safe water?
I live in an area in the US where the water is completely safe, but will destroy your pipes without a water softener. Would any government provide that equipment? Heck no, that's your job as a property owner.
Hi friends! Just a quick note :) I don’t want to gloss over the fact that I do believe bots (AKA more AI) are definitely being used to inflate views, likes, and comments. But I think it’s important to note that these tactics can only go so far:
- Not every post like this goes viral, just like real organic content.
- While bots can unfortunately help boost engagement in a variety of ways, the viral posts I shared do seem to be blowing up due to real human interaction.
- The first video I showed of a creator calling out these showerhead carousels isn’t an isolated case, I've since noticed that it’s practically turned into a trend now, real people are seeing these fake ads.
- And sadly, the sales numbers alone prove these marketing tactics are working on actual people, not just bots.
I hope you enjoy the video, I'm really looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Enjoying your video. I've just discovered your channel. Thank you
@@ashaeerie Thank you so much for your nice comment :) I really appreciate it!
If the water quality was bad why would the government give everyone shower head filters instead of filtering it before it gets to the houses😆
It’s like they’re making the viewer believe they’re being talked into one thing (move to Japan) so they can slip the actual advertisement through the back door.. slimy!
im worried that, based on the "im a gen alpha influencer, of course i do X" videos going viral (as rage bait or not), they may not be the generation to make critical changes UNLESS it starts with us!
i couldn't have said it better myself! i can't image what having access to a super addictive social media platform like TikTok does to a child's brain. i do hope as a society we all move in the direction of this "wake up call" -- it can be freaky to think about the alternative future of how out of control social media / scams can get.
First they come for the digital art community, then the traditional art community, then the creative writing community. Now they're coming for business spaces, university courses, programming, marketing and I'm sure more to come.
They've taken artists jobs by having companies cutting costs on hiring graphic designers. I know for sure they're cutting costs on hiring every other job positions if Ai suddenly can do that too. I wish everyone was as mad as the artists when this started 3 years ago
The way I clicked this IMMEDIATELY when I opened up the app 🎉😂
AH thank you 🥹❤️🫶
Lol.. like IMMEDIATELY 😅😂😂
Saaaaame!!
😮😮😮 Are you me? Lmaoo
The lack of media literacy is so scary lol
Im even seeing young people give them attention. 🙄🙄🙄
There are many great things about Japan, but the work culture is NOT one of them. Anyone saying they have a good work-life balance hasn't been to Japan. They are a lot more dedicated to work than the USA. For example, leaving on time is rude. Or how some districts in Tokyo you'll find men sleeping in officewear near bars because they stay very late then go out drinking.
Again, a lot of great things about Japan. I've always wanted to live there. I started studying Japanese when I was a pre-teen. But they have a very hard-working and dedicated office culture.
Edit: So that alone is enough of a red flag for me to know that girl isn't just lying she's also not even doing a 10 second google search before lying.
💯💯💯 Half my family is Japanese and you are correct 💖💗💕🇯🇵🇺🇸
Omg the other day I was swiping through a “things my MIL taught me to keep my home spotless” I didn’t think anything of it, and then got it the last slide it was NAD ad! I nearly screamed because I totally fell for it even took screenshots of the “tips” 🤦🏽♀️
I really love how your videos are a peek behind the curtain at the influencer advertising space. For non marketing folks, like me, it is amazing how my mind has shifted when scrolling since finding your content. I'm looking for the clues you describe in your video and I'm able to be a more informed consumer (not just products but content too)
i seriously cannot thank you enough for sharing this ❤️ i find this stuff so interesting and my poor husband has to listen to me rant about this stuff all the time 😂 it’s been so cool for me to find other people who also find this stuff crazy. and it’s even cooler to hear that you find this helpful to be a more informed consumer! thank you so much for watching this!
Two weeks ago I deleted almost all social media except Tumblr, Pinterest, and UA-cam (truly think only one of these is really a social media platform anymore) and I have never been happier than after watching this video haha. The AI influencers Meta created is scary.
If you want a really fun TikTok Shop/MLM rabbit hole look into Kelsey Rae (she also uses rage bait tactics, etc.).
I do love how they say the water quality is amazing, but then basically say that a water filter is needed like the quality can't be that good then
Your videos feel like firewall is being installed in my brain lol ❤
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
honestly, I hate that it takes 4 or 5 slides before I realize it's an ad. I'll report it for false advertising but it's already affected my algo :(
Exactly! By the time I realize they’ve already won :/
I found a fake influencer (AI) account just like the ones you’ve mentioned in the previous video! I was stunned.
They are sadly still going strong! 😢 Thank you so much for watching, hopefully these social media platforms start cracking down.
I know about those cheap houses in Tokyo, nobody talks about the additional cost of having to also hire a demolition crew and then build another one that is up to the current earthquake safety code. Like those old things are either total death traps or completely abandoned
Another weird one:
A sponsored page suggested a story about nightmare Air B&B guests. First comment, an Air B&B host that had their shower heads stollen. Great shower heads. Filtered water shower heads. Here a screen shot and a link of these shower heads.
I didn’t know about these ads but it was awkward and felt off.
It's interesting that they are focusing on Japan in particular. The yen is down right now and people think it is always this cheap. And they don't think at all about the locals. It feels like they think it'll all be people who speak English and will accommodate them with no learning curve? Like they will just be in their own bubble there.
Also I think it's a bit of Asia exoticism and thinking it's some paradise. It's got problems just like us.
@@heathminka Definitely because travel to Japan is "trendy" right now especially with the value of the yen currently as you mention. Local news even reports tourist behavior is more worse than usual so some places are being more restrictive now about who they let in and now there's even backlash against Airbnbs located in some neighborhoods for noise disturbances.
People need to keep in mind that TikToks most profitable venture is TikTok shop
I think part of the answer might be to never ever buy anything through an affiliate link. Never. Not even for people you like. I see this kind of shady shitty marketing on Instagram cos I like cat videos. Who doesn’t? Cute cat video, cute cat video, oh another cute cat video all on the same post? What’s that? Looks like a sneaky undisclosed ad on the last page. 😡
In Nederland a recent report tells us that 25 procent of school children with a sm phone confess they get depressed and sad by their daily screentime.
The issue runs a lot deeper than just ads. I don't usually comment but I am very passionate about NOT buying advertised products (though the Ninja ads almost reeled me in but I'm only considering them NOW when the hype died down - I'm only human!). Not only are the "influencers" probably AI generated, but yes, also comments.
Some people have figured out the best way to use this flow to push their own agenda - there's currently investigations of tiktok (not themselves, but accounts and the process you recognized and are speaking about in this video that are so popular on the platform) in Europe because they influenced local elections BECAUSE of the power this kind of advertising has. And it's so devious because you cannot identify it. For example, when it came down to the elections most accounts were old (about 2018 old) that got reactivated recently in order to push a certain kind of content. Locally, people are looking into it but the reality of it is that you cannot shoot down the hundreds maybe thousands of accounts that were programmed to work as they do and normal people like you and I interacted with the content because our emotional responses spiked.
No matter if it's a product, a political agenda or honestly anything that needs to be popular, it's this how it gets done. I believe it's a sort of psyop.
What we and our future generations need to learn is not only recognizing AI but also how to think critically at the very least, otherwise this kind of processes of marketing will become not only much more popular but much stronger.
This is so well said. I really could not agree more that these tactics go way further than just these scammy pump & dump products, they are a scary effective form of brainwashing on so many levels.
I remember ppl debating if Lil Mikaela was an actual human or not
I saw some of these for a photo app. It starts with rage bait stuff like "things i dont want at my wedding 1 no kids" then it ends with "guests cant upload photos online they can use this app to take photos and upload them once the wedding is over" an app that guests download so they can take photos of the event and upload them to the same place.
This is crazy😂😂 I was actually thinking about getting this shower filter ❤ thanks for the information.
@@Coco_mla omg thank you so much for commenting!!! this kind of marketing can be SO convincing! so glad you found this vid thank you for watching :)❤️🫶
I had a neighbor who would donate $100-250 a month to a fake Mukbang influencer account, I tried to warn him.
Yet he was so heavily in love with the a.i. generated woman he'd throw his money at."She" never uploaded videos, "She" only uploaded pictures of "Herself" eating piles of food.
Money well wasted I suppose?
This is exactly the kind of social media critique we need more of, thank you so much for this
lol I love that defeated fact check “ugh. I’ll fact check it, whatever. Of course not!” 😂 loving your videos.
hahaha thank you so much for watching :)
I’ve been seeing these everywhere and am so grateful I’m on the side of the internet that has taught me not to trust influencers
The way I was on the edge of my seat begging for you to bring up Facebook's face engagement bots
Enjoyed your first video just a few days ago and was surprised to see another HR+ long video from you so soon. Guess I lucked out with the timing but don't worry you've still earned my sub for sure. Keep up the great work! 🇭🇰
thank you so much for the encouragement! and for watching 🫶 it means a lot :)
@CarolynJoannie No problem, looking forward to your next video!
I dated a guy who had regular conversations with “Kiki” who is the AI bot on Viber. He believed life based on what Kuki told him reality was . Let’s just say I’m glad we broke up.
Yeah, even a tiny creator like me knows all engagement is good engagement. Rare as it may be, when someone leaves an unkind comment, I respond with "Thx for the engagement!" The commentor either deletes or just leave it. I win either way.
I don’t usually comment but you did an amazing job with this whole video!! Absolutely fantastic! I also would love this as a podcast!
Oh lordy, the number of AI recipe pages on facebook have been making me crazy!
People lose weight in other countries because the countries are walkable so Americans who are used to driving all over the place actually burn some calories
what a gem of a channel! i don’t know if you’d be interested in doing a video on the scam ‘commission requests’ targeting artists on places like Instagram, but that’s something that’s always frustrated me and I think there needs to be more information about this scam. i’ve seen friends struggle to discern when a commission request is real vs fake and how to avoid getting caught in a scam like this.
ah, nvm. watching more of your content, i see it’s more about advertising than scams. my bad! still, great channel. happy to be here semi-early
u should request an art youtuber like katliente/kat n chat, she talks about scams like that all the time.
I absolutely love that I found your channel! I’ve actually had the shower head ad come on my fyp and I remember thinking what the heck does a shower head have to do with this story but the comments were so supportive i thought I was going crazy
Omg the length of video is perfect, editing on point and looooove that you speak in 1,5x speed ❤ you got a new fan from today
Even if the claims are somewhat true (eg the free daycare etc), would it actually apply to someone who just moved there? And if there's a residency requirement, how long is that? (Not to mention other items like culture shock, missing home etc)
I’ve heard that Tokyo is the world’s most expensive city for renting.
YAY! i was so excited to send you a video on tiktok haha
i am curious why you chose to release the video at this time, it might not be the best for the algorithm
THANK YOU!!!!!! You da best!
@@minakiel2930 It will probably take some experimenting, based on the analytics it looks like viewers are most active morning -- mid afternoon. I will probably try mid day next time :)
@@CarolynJoannie makes sense!
i have so many thoughts about how they portray japan.
romanticizing japan especially as a foreigner is stupid as hell, because there are many flaws. one: yen has a lower value than usd, so yes some of it is less expensive, but that’s usually small things and not houses or property, two: japan has a 99% conviction rate, which is known to have many innocent people pushed into prison because of of their justice system. the death penalty is not something to use positively, and some of the crimes to come out of japan are fucking awful (i.e. junko furata) so walking around at night only makes sense if you are with someone else. three: japan is crazy misogynistic, they have put so much pressure on women that they think they lose value after they turn thirty (aka “no one will want to marry me after i turn thirty”) and the amount of sex crimes is crazy. any smartphone to come out of japan has the ringer on permanently because people were taking photos up skirts in trains, and speaking of trains; they have female-only cabins because of the harassment. while their healthcare system is genuinely great, living there is terrible if you’re a woman. four: depending on where you live, you will not be welcome especially if you are not asian because a lot of the more rural prefectures (aka the cheaper places) are not welcoming to gaijin. (aka some racism, but also a dislike of white ppl which fair, that a lot of people overlook) five: dude the amount of paperwork to move there, to live there, to get a working holiday visa, is AWFUL. japan has some of the strictest standards for paperwork i have ever seen, and you can fill everything out perfectly well and still get rejected. (how i know: yumataeyeong tried to get taeyeong a working visa so they could stay in japan but he got rejected even though they accepted his other temporary visa; also gigguk talking about how own struggles with the terrible paperwork)
and while not everything is terrible about it and i do think it’s a beautiful nation with interesting history, it is not a perfect place. it is not a place to just move to because you want to stop living paycheck to paycheck, especially if you want to live in the city centers; like tokyo or shibuya, it’s still really expensive. sorry for this essay i got way too hung up on it bc it’s pissing me off.
Influencers aren’t real.
Now hear me out, it’s not in the sense of that they don’t exist, but that they’re reality tv real. As in fake personas that people put on when they know they’re being watched by strangers that don’t show the real person, even though they may or may not show what the person really thinks and feels at times. Lots of people feel this way about anyone that is a public person, and that’s why they might not be bothered by AI influencers, since it doesn’t matter if it’s Tony the Tiger or [insert traditional celebrity of choice] or someone on social media trying to sell them cereal, it’s still the company trying to convince you to buy the cereal
Unfortunately not everyone thinks like that, so it’s still important to try to get the message out there. I’ve known people that say they feel like they know even a celebrity from their music that really speaks to them, so how likely you are to feel close to complete strangers varies, but I don’t even know my neighbours. Even the ones that I’ve talked to are still acquaintances at best, and if they tried to sell me something I’d probably not be all that interested tbh
I might not be the target audience per se, but the word needs to reach those that do need to hear it so here’s engagement for the algorithm haha
I've seen locals at coffee shops, the mall, etc. swiping through TikTok, they've ran in to posts with something like:
"Comment "I'm broke", for your chance to win $10,000!!!"
Of course, the locals fall for it most of the time.
that’s so weird, i JUST saw one of these exact same ads with the same shower head and rolled my eyes when i realized what i was engaging with
I really can't understand people who are like completly for generative AI, like... do they think they are immune to it ever affecting their quality of life? why are people happy that jobs get harder and harder for people to get?
16:24 No ; you’re educating.. and teaching us to NEVER comment & where possible Report
We have a lot of stupid people in this world without the ability to critically think for themselves.
There’s a reason why a criminal was elected president in this country.

I just found your content and I absolutely love it! I am also a fan of Hannah Alonzo and CC Suarez, and I wanted to say that you're doing an amazing job! I love informative and analytical commentary videos and this is a topic that I believe is important to discuss. Keep up the great work!
I think AI influencers might be better. It seems like "influencers" are influenced by their viewers and potential brand deals and monitization. It destroys freedom of speech. On UA-cam there's a lot people can't say or do perhaps that will change and there will be a place for human expression and art allowing you more freedom of speech.
The way the powers that be in the US want to get rid of the EPA we might need these filter showerheads soon. We might need a lot of things, especially some prayers
I immediately thought MLM style advertising moments before Carolyn brought it up. It is not a stretch at all.
I feel like the Japanese AI influencer is especially predatory, because people will use it when they travel, and the information won't help them
It's gotten to the point where when I see a product I immediately scroll and revoke my like. I never comment either. Also the more I see a brand pushing advertising I start to get the ick. Unless I have to (if there is no equal alternative) I won't support a brand that I constantly see. I want brands that focus more of their money on saving consumer costs, investing in research and development, etc. Not spending millions on sales. Sales is important, but there is a point where it becomes WAY too much.
I would only watch these kinds of videos to know who NOT to buy from 😂
Thank you for your advanced updates!
IN few years we won't tell the difference between AI vs reality...
Found your channel a little bit ago and I’m totally hooked! The crazy/scammy uses of AI are very concerning, especially for the people that are at higher risk for scams (ex. the elderly)!
I make a point out of not buying anything advertised on social media. I think over the last 10 years the only ad product ive bought was a bag of potato chips a few years ago.
Unrelated but can you PLEASE share where your wallpaper is from?? It’s so pretty!
I bought that shower head based on someone's opinion on it. I never saw it advertised but now I'm questioning everything 😠. Even though my area does have hard water and it does cause issues with skin and hair I'm doubtful that particular item is real. I hope buying from Amazon gave me a real one
The algorithm sent you to me apparently.
Good video, surprised you're such a small channel still. One thing I wanna mention regarding marketing to people who are, basically, lower middle class, (people living paycheck-to-paycheck in the US) is because of an unfortunately true stereotype that people with less money are more prone to impulse purchasing random small bullshit like that than you would think. I say this as someone who's been in poverty my whole life. A wealthy person may impulse buy, but 1: It's usually something from a recognizable luxury brand if they're like, 'rich', and if they're in the ACTUAL top of the financial food chain, they don't really fall for this kind of thing and can get anything they want at any time. And there are way, way, WAY less wealthy people in the country than there are lower-middle-class. And, the reason WHY we're prone to impulse buy is because shopping gives a hit of dopamine for most, however small, and the idea that we might improve even one small thing about our otherwise mediocre lives is very enticing. So something like a fairly inexpensive shower-head filter is perfect to market to this demographic because they are likely to want the dopamine of buying something AND they can justify it in the moment by saying 'this would improve my life, and my life needs improvement'. Anyway it's gross and I hate it.
I saw one of these ads the other day! I honestly did not pick up on it being AI. Wow! I’m not as good at catching it as I thought I was
Has anyone else seen the fake AI shorts on UA-cam and instagram too lately? They are pumping this junk out so much.
Over the Influence is such a clever turn of phrase, love it!
I'm loving your channel
thank you so much for saying that ❤️ i really appreciate you watching and encouragement like this is what helps me stay so fired up to keep going!
Before you said it, I was definitely getting MLM vibes!!!
First of all, I've really enjoyed your channel! At some point, could you explore why YT sponsorships seem to be the same run of the mill scammy or borderline unethical companies (e.g., Betterhelp, scentbird, meal delivery services, mobile games, online casinos) regardless of subscriber count. Most of these are subscription services - is there a reason why that business model is seemingly (at least in my experience) more prevalent on this platform? How do companies strategize sponsoring long form vs short form content?
I've begun skipping every single ad. No matter what it is. Won't even watch it for a second. If Anyone is trying to sell me something.... Skip! Bye. Don't want it or their content. With the exception of small businesses. Which you also have to watch out for on amazon. I guess what I'm saying is Do. Your. Research. This shih is wiiiiildahhhh!!!!! Just report these accounts and scroll on, people!!!
Just wanted to add. From Michigan. 👋🏼 Our water is trash. People will absolutely buy into this marketing. And they know that. Ima keep scrolling tho. Hard pass. Won't even think twice about Not giving them My money.
I have absolutely seen this on Instagram meme pages where you are scrolling through 9 memes and an ad
I would love to see the disproportionate amount of income 'influencers' like the Kardashians who are all plastic surgery become passe, I like that 'real' people can sell products. If someone can create a 'real' looking AI influencer and do honest marketing I could be alright with that. I think this big problem is honest marketing. Amazon is full of 'influencer' reviews, so they are real people giving fake opinions for money. There are a lot of YTuber's who promote this as a business, they literally buy products just to review them. So maybe influencer marketing is not an honest way to market.
People really out here deciding to move based on a single post without research?!?!? 🙄🙄🙄
So happy youtube showed me your video today. Subbed! I cannot wait to dive into more of your videos.

I just realized I saw one of these on YT. It was about moving to China and said the solved homelessness. As I watched it I knew that wasnt true, but wrote that off as an over exaggeration. I dont think I reliazed the whole thing was an ad🤦🏿♀️
This definitely brings to mind a visionary Bridge Trilogy by William Gibson. Worth re-reading at this very moment.
I just ignore these accounts i dont even block them cuz ive noticed the more i block the more videos i get of the same thing.
I live in Korea, in a building with heavy metal pipes… I’ve constantly looked for magical shower heads… so when I went on to Japanese Amazon and didn’t see the showerhead, I was very confused. 😂 but it’s so expensive in the US!
Love your content. Thank you for sharing!
Love your videos!!! ❤❤
My local community resource centers are now offering media literacy courses I learned today. Check if your local social services are doing the same everyone!
IRT: house for $90k. That is possible in Tokyo. Houses depreciate there the way cars do here.
As for family leave, only Japanese citizens get that. Japan DOES use GMOs and pesticides but they're regulated to heck and back.
The way this is banking on weeboo obsession and ignorance of the way the world works is just...repugnant.
FB and IN creating their own face AI accounts makes me so angry!!!
there are lots of houses in Tokyo like the one pictured but they are not "in the middle". the central district is all small apartments. but you can totally get a house nearby.
i just want you to know that you are wonderful at long form content this tickled my brain nicely. and second of all I am japanese born and raised and all i have to say is it’s just a country. it’s like any other country. it has its pros it has its cons and it most definitely has processed food, like you’re telling me the home of instant ramen doesn’t have processed food? anyways 10/10 video
Because it’s true the only advert that works really well on me is a NoN paid placement of an account I trust … that’s probably true for a lot of us ( my Amazon orders can directly be correlated with shorts I’ve watched!)
The problem is , just like AI these accounts can only get better. we recognise them now but maybe all the clues will be gone soon…. I guess in that way content like yours points out their flaws and might help these marketers get better! ( oops!)
We need a ban on photorealistic AI. It serves no purpose other than to deceive. You want to make low effort fake content, at least make it mandatory that people can tell it's not real.
It might be predatory, but I think the danger of this ad in particular is pretty low. Nobody is going to move to Japan without checking the cost of housing first
I dont shop online at all sinse most essential stuff i need i can find in physical shops and i hardly ever buy anything that i dont need ,so anytime i see any ads popping up its nice to not be tempted to buy any of the junk(i also dont use tiktok but all other apps seem to have these fake advertisements all over)
Really great quality content and video. Great work. Love the marketing intel.
