If you use a stiffer wire it should be good. I like the non-tarnish brass in 20 gauge and you can also use half hard sterling. For stiffer pendant use 18 gauge. Good luck!

Just seeing this Melissa. The Artistic Copper wire by Beadalon is tarnish resistant. 24 gauge is a bit thin. I use 20 gauge for the pendants (the lower the gauge the thicker the wire).
I bought the red pliers 30 years ago and this exact pair is no longer available. I bought them in a hardware store in the fishing department. Apparently Zebra and Tronex are good brands for pliers. Good luck.

The pliers I am using are no longer on the market. I use chain nose pliers and round nose pliers. There are some available in my Amazon affiliate shop or you can search Etsy: amzn.to/33MEUwY

Be sure your pliers are a smooth metal and try to do as much manipulating of the wire with your hands rather than your pliers. I'll try to do a Tip Tuesday tutorial about this soon since I get a lot of inquiries about it! Thank you, Heather.
If you use decent pliers made with smooth metal and go gently with them you should be fine. One tip is to hold the wire with the pliers and do a lot of the bending with your hand. You can also buy nylon tipped pliers if you have problems.
This is not that flimsy wire they sell at Walmart right? I neeeed to buy this wire!! I purchased some at Walmart and yeah no it bent like nothing ! & to sell name necklaces a thicker wire and not so bendy would be great!

You have to put loops at the top on either end so it hangs down. Hope this helps.
