The historical contribution to the sound of all death metal after this album was released cannot be understated. This was the first albums that made metal sound as good as it does on this release and all other bands afterwards. I'd say this is in the top 5 best metal albums of all time.

During the war in x-Yugoslavia Sepultura had a concert in my city Thessaloniki Greece, but they had to drive from Hungary (Budapest) to Greece.Well they were late for more than 2 hours. When they arrived it was overcrowded and the 20m entrance of the venue was just destroyed!!!I can not describe what happened during the concert.MADNESS!!! The best metal concert EVER!!!!

Actually there was the original lineup on Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions. Then of course the classic lineup on Schizophrenia to Roots. Then the first post-Max lineup on Against to Dante. Then on the next two albums Jean had replaced Igor on drums who now has been replaced by Eloy. So there has been FIVE different lineups since Sepultura started releasing albums.
These dudes were it with Max. I remember them before they came to the US they ended up in Arizona when they were just raging up the genre. Ran into the band at a pet store in Paradise Valley mall before anyone else spotted them and new exactly who they were thank you Brazil these guys were unreal bad asses.
Dillon Dean they used to be the only thrash band from Latin America, they had heart soul and wanted to prove to the world that their nation was able to produce crazy good music. It’s not the case anymore for obvious reason + the cavalera are no more in so it’s not biased opinion it’s just the truth
