As someone who suffers from Lymphedema with chronic wounds, I can tell you zinc oxide is number one when it comes to wound dealing. I can only imagine what it would do for your face, especially when the skin is stressed.
This is why I love mineral only facial sunscreen. I used to despise sunscreen until i found certain zinc based ones that made my skin look & feel better after use. They blur my pores better than some primers.
Same! I feel like using good zinc sunscreen everyday has done more for my skin than anything else I have tried. I still use retinol etc but I swear it wasn't until the zinc sunscreen that my skin drastically improved. It also makes my makeup look better.
TRUE. I use it for skin irritation anywhere and everywhere. If it works on my SN teenager nappy rash and for bed-sores in nursing homes, it can handle so much more.
I’m late, but I’m definitely going to assume her regular skincare is UNDERNEATH the cream. It’s very occlusive & seems to lock everything in …. Sort of like Vaseline !
I’ve not done this for my entire face, though I will. I have used diaper cream on eczema with relief. In the day I use one with a lower percentage of zinc and at night 40%. I live in the desert and this year I have dealt with the worst eczema I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve over used topical steroids and really need a good solution. I’ve wet bandaged at night with moderate success. I will try this. Thank you.
Thank you for this technique, it’s been a godsend on my skin! I live in a super dry climate in Alberta and am so pleased with how this locks in the moisture. The lavender scent of the cream makes it feel like a spa treatment as well - bonus!
Can you explain further on how it’s beneficial? I use zinc oxide on my patients that get irritated and raw skin from moisture (urine/bowel incontinence) and those with venous stasis ulcers to protect the periwound and absorb excess drainage. I understand it can soothe the skin and create a barrier, but depending on the amount of zinc, it can also dry out the skin. What product is this? How much zinc does it contain? Just curious and want to learn more!
@@heidbI just looked up the product: Triple Paste Diaper Rash ointment. Can be purchased at Target, Walmart, Amazon. The active ingredient is zinc oxide at 12.8% with the main ingredient being white petrolatum. This amount of zinc is not drying. I use Desitin max strength for my severely raw patients, it has 40% zinc oxide and definitely dries out their skin. White petrolatum is the same as Vaseline and will create a barrier and restore hydration. The ingredient list is very small with no added fragrances! Looks like a great product and will be trying during the winter months 👍
So I started using calmoseptine on my face randomly after seeing it heal patient bootyholes so effectively... and it's *magic* for inflammation. Edit-- sometimes (for peri areas or my face) after cleaning I'll mix aquaphor with the calmoseptine (or generic zinc barrier of course works) or apply a thin layer of moisturizer beneath it, which helps when the skin is extra extra dry
20% zinc oxide, no fragrance. Does possibly have mineral oil and or petrolatum (the brand my home uses - no idea about her brand ingredients). Watch ingredients, different brands have fragrance or other additions.
haha it’s so sticky tho! def need hair wrap etc A friend who has skin issues from diabetes told me about this so long ago. it’s sacred! I use it for everything in winter time from hand/foot mask to knees and elbows. it’s amazing. You you cant wipe it off- saran wrap and chill, let the magic happen!!🙌

Im 48 and I use Zinc for my face as well and it really helps, but I dont use barely any products, or have EVER had any treatment done. I just eat well and take some supplements.
When I had super dry skin in my 20s I did that every two days, it didn’t fully solve the problem until I got my hands on hyaluronic acid but it massively helped.
