I like the idea of Gaster possessing and buffing the hell out of a random Froggit just to screw with you.
In fact, if I'm not mistaken, there is a comic/au where gaster takes control of the underground and tries to take over all the monsters, between that, frisk and sans are looking for survivors to save them.
In that, frisk meets monster kid, but what he doesn't know is that gaster uses monster kid as a shell to hide

If your going to betray kill everyone (well everyone that can be betray killed because not all monsters qualify for that) in a *sadist* genocide (sadist because that's more evil than regular or soulless genocide runs). then congrats on becoming a 'true' monster, as you should've realized after you betrayal killed Muffet.

There was a theory about the Negative EXP thing, and it was some kinda "redemption" event where you can actually undo a genocide run
actually, the genocide route is counted based on kills not exp or lv. killing gaster counts as a kill.

To signify what L said, quote "if you kill everyone in a room and get the "but nobody came" screen" unquote. Doing the complete opposite of getting the "but nobody came screen" (well GUI not screen) will also abort the genocide route.

Since he's shattered in time and space you are just hitting a piece of him from his body. The other pieces of him are in other timelines. The "mystery man" Is just a decoy that everyone associates with Gaster.

Very very true unfortunately i have to use the mystery man as the gaster because im too lazy to write other characters concept and I hate doing that become removing the lore canon is like taking the soul of interest and im reluctant to do so
I mean like taking away things that make undertale UNDERTALE. Because if you take or learn less lore or misunderstood it is just making other game that has a skin of undertale a completely different game

What happens if you remove Sans' final attack? Do you get softlocked or...
Can confirm, you just get softlocked. It's basically his special attack except he never falls asleep and you can't push the box around. You don't even have to remove the attack, if you have enough health hacked in, the bones will eventually disappear and never come back.

I love how Toby Fox made stats and that for Gaster but on purpose made him go unused, it's like how you can't get the legendary artifact, it's the game mechanic.
So, Gaster is basically Mew, from the original pokemon games- (since he existed, but wasn’t obtainable, unless you got him via glitch.)
(this might not be relevant, but it makes sense)

But you never gained any xp, in fact, you were so good that you lost thebones that you don't even had

might be wrong on this but im pretty sure sans’s judgement uses a different variable that’s called murder level or something like that rather than the exp variable when deciding what dialogue should be chosen, so you’ll probably just get whatever line of dialogue sans has for a failed pacifist run.

The Check stats are canon, but not applied in-game, so you won't get a monster with infinite attack, but one with 9999 defense, but I think you can kill it with betrayal kills

Your genocide route is not based on the lvl but on kills and murder level. And yeah, you can also skip sans battle and get genocide. Because he doesn't increase your murder level.
