I love how his attacks are based off of secrets in Undertale: The spoon amalgamate, the Waterfall umbrella, the LUCKY_7 arm, the Everyman butterflies, the wingdings for the jab and dash effects, the [REDACTED] shield, the rejected worn dagger, the Glyde tail, the Endogeny arrows... it's all very detailed.
kor gaster from mugen is also done really well, he has lots of easter eggs that fit gaster's atmosphere, he also has a counter that glitches the opponents sprite aswell as stunning them, he can spawn pop ups on the screen, definetly the best playable gaster, you really need to check him out
Moveseet wise this gaster I great but I think it fails to represent gaster either way its still very good besides representing gaster on a game like this might be way to hard
I feel like this version of Gaster is more in line with his actual "character" from the game,he isn't just all gaster blasters and hand spam,he actually has a moveset that fits with what he is in Undertale,a secret mystery character that we know very little about...

The up smash is a reference to Help_Tale Papyrus who does that exact move for an attack most of the other attacks and things are just based off how Gaster was shattered across time and space and the amalgams, Gaster is also the man behind the tree if everything is following correctly Oh and the umbrella is based off where you find Gaster (Waterfall) the umbrella is one of the things with MK and also how to hear the music box version of his theme at little (Not Gaster's Theme, The song called His Theme)

I could be wrong, but I don't think Gaster is "cut content". It feels to me like an easter egg for dataminers. He was erased from existence, thus he doesn't appear in the game but remnants of him can still be found if you look through the games files. It is true that almost nothing we know about him is canon though
He's definitely intentional. Toby knew what he was doing when he put all those secrets in his game, and now with Deltarune it doesn't seem like Gaster's role is that of a mere analogy anymore.
Also, to add to this comment, to say most things are invented is a STRETCH. There ARE some headcanons, such as the "holes in hands", or some other truly fanon stuff, but there is reasonable evidence ingame for a lot of stuff involving him. The water_redacted room, the lost entry 17, all the fun events can be directly or indirectly traced back to him in a really obvious, intentional way.

We know he might be linked to Sans and Papyrus because he's the only other character that uses a different font to speak, and also because Sans uses things that are LITERALLY calles Gaster Blasters. Anything apart from that and it's mostly headcanons. With the release of Deltarune some people theorize that the whole "Don't forget" thing is actually a picture of Kris and Susie.
Honestly what did stick out to me is how his gaster blaster is a trap considering from the little we canonically know about him, Gaster is a Royal Scientist/overall smart guy. If he were to fight he would be thinking 5 steps ahead like that
this character seems very chaotic if you set up corectly you can cause tons of chaos and do lots of diffrent attacks and do various things that make no sense kinda what i was hoping for with jevil

Seems like you didn’t know much about Gaster, so I’ll give you a quick version: Gaster was the royal scientist before Alphys. He created the core, and it’s implied that he fell into it, which shattered him across time and space. Because of this, everybody (probably) forgot he existed. As for deltarune, we don’t know much about his connection to the game other than that he is DEFINITELY DOING SOMETHING, as he is the narrator text as you create your character, and takes over the deltarune Twitter account whenever a new chapter is close to release. Also, he has some sort of connection to Sans, but anything else along that track (such as being Sans’ teacher or father) dives into theory territory. He also speaks Wing Dings, so it’s assumed that W. D. Gaster actually stands for Wing Ding Aster, following the trend of Sans and Papyrus being named after their fonts. That’s dangerously close to headcannon, but it fits too well not to include. And there’s your crash course in Gaster! I could talk about his connections to 66, the Grey Followers, the egg man, the cell phone, and the bunker but you don’t actually need to know that to get the gist.
Another interesting idea is that aster could also mean astericks wich are the * in front of all undertale text except interestingly papyrus who doesnt have them. The astericks connection isnt really even much a theory but it just sound kinda cool like hes always there listening

He play a sped up version of Gaster’s theme when you interact with him, the fun value associated with the door is 66, a number which is associated with Gaster a ton in the game files, most notably his stats, and the fact that it’s behind a grey door just like the followers who talk about him. It isn’t a mountain of evidence, but it’s enough that it can’t be overlooked.
This character could very well not be gaster. Only reason we believe that is because we found the name of the gaster blaster and an npc that spawns if your fun value is specific, talks about the old royal scientist who split himself across time and space by falling into the core. The person we encounter is called "Mysterious man".

The arrows for the air tilt I believe is windings. In a secret audio log, a speaker (thought to be gaster) talks in windings. Arrows are part of the font so that's why I believe it's windings.
Legend has it the undertale fandom will never figure out the difference between Gaster and the Mystery man... For clarity, Gaster doesn't have a canon appearance. Mystery Man is a separate character, and doesn't have any connections beyond sharing a sound effect with one of the Gaster Followers. He's not even the right colour scheme, as the one piece of Gaster(said to be shattered across time and space) we see is in grey like the followers rather than black and white. As for references: -Nair is likely a refefence to how Goner Kid comments the umbrella if you have one when talking to him(which also causes him to disappear when leaving the room) -Fair references Endogeny, one of the amalgamates. -Up air references Everyman, an attack used by Reaper Bird in which butterflies swarm Everyman's head before some of them fly off in other attacks -Specials are entirely focused on gaster blasters. -Smash attacks reference some of fanon Gaster's abilities, which tend to revolve around floating hand BS. Victory theme is just Gaster's theme, a no-longer obscure part of the soundtrack. Undertalr fans hear it everywhere through a combination of Mandela effect and since it's a simple set of notes often used as a generic Spooky motif(it also appears in Lavender town's theme, for instance.) -Shield animation references a sprite with a more solid connection to Gaster than the Mystery man has, notable for saying "redacted" in wingdings, a font Gaster is associated with, when spoken to. Skins: -Normal Mystery Man. It's meant to be Gaster, but it's not. The title references a line from the river person that likely refers to him, warning the player to beware of him. -Sands Undertail, referencing Sans judging the player and his nihilistic, slightly depressed side. -Papyrus, referencing Papyrus' innocent side and possibly his inability to realize that Undyne will never let him join the guard. The umbrella references the song, "Its raining somewhere else", also referencing the timlines. Meaning that throughout all the infinite timelines it is raining somewhere else. Also he fell into his creation and got scattered across all the timelines.
Chara is “Care-a” as in Character. The whole deal with them in Undertale and Deltarune (to my knowledge) is that it’s meant to be the player character that tries to defy or manipulate the player

The Doctor Who Sees the Sky's True Colors is actually a reference to an oddball character from the fighting game franchise "Guilty Gear", known as Faust. The title is a reference to his theme song in the newest entry of the series (Guilty Gear Strive), titled "Alone Infection", where the main chorus literally says "We've got only one sky" "Blue, red, and black paranoia!" I believe the Thing Who Wont Stop is a reference to The Entity known as "RED" from a retro Godzilla NES creepypasta, a monster that torments the protagonist by breaking the laws of and altering the very game. The Monster Who Slayed the Innocent is a reference to the main villain of hit indie game "Five Nights at Freddy's", William Afton aka The Purple Man, a man who probably needs no introduction for his horrendous atrocities, but funnily enough kinda fits Gaster as both of them died horrific deaths but came back after such.

Gaster was done so well. Being able to jump in the middle of his dive dash attack and go off platforms with it really adds to his air game
kor gaster from mugen is also done really well, he has lots of easter eggs that fit gaster's atmosphere, he also has a counter that glitches the opponents sprite aswell as stunning them, he can spawn pop ups on the screen, definetly the best playable gaster, you really need to check him out

most of the other attacks and things are just based off how Gaster was shattered across time and space and the amalgams, Gaster is also the man behind the tree if everything is following correctly

Gaster is an analogy for cut content, by the way. Most of what we 'know' about him was invented by the community.
I could be wrong, but I don't think Gaster is "cut content". It feels to me like an easter egg for dataminers. He was erased from existence, thus he doesn't appear in the game but remnants of him can still be found if you look through the games files. It is true that almost nothing we know about him is canon though
He's definitely intentional. Toby knew what he was doing when he put all those secrets in his game, and now with Deltarune it doesn't seem like Gaster's role is that of a mere analogy anymore.
Also, to add to this comment, to say most things are invented is a STRETCH. There ARE some headcanons, such as the "holes in hands", or some other truly fanon stuff, but there is reasonable evidence ingame for a lot of stuff involving him. The water_redacted room, the lost entry 17, all the fun events can be directly or indirectly traced back to him in a really obvious, intentional way.

We know he might be linked to Sans and Papyrus because he's the only other character that uses a different font to speak, and also because Sans uses things that are LITERALLY calles Gaster Blasters. Anything apart from that and it's mostly headcanons. With the release of Deltarune some people theorize that the whole "Don't forget" thing is actually a picture of Kris and Susie.
Honestly what did stick out to me is how his gaster blaster is a trap considering from the little we canonically know about him, Gaster is a Royal Scientist/overall smart guy. If he were to fight he would be thinking 5 steps ahead like that

Seems like you didn’t know much about Gaster, so I’ll give you a quick version:
Gaster was the royal scientist before Alphys. He created the core, and it’s implied that he fell into it, which shattered him across time and space. Because of this, everybody (probably) forgot he existed. As for deltarune, we don’t know much about his connection to the game other than that he is DEFINITELY DOING SOMETHING, as he is the narrator text as you create your character, and takes over the deltarune Twitter account whenever a new chapter is close to release.
Also, he has some sort of connection to Sans, but anything else along that track (such as being Sans’ teacher or father) dives into theory territory.
He also speaks Wing Dings, so it’s assumed that W. D. Gaster actually stands for Wing Ding Aster, following the trend of Sans and Papyrus being named after their fonts. That’s dangerously close to headcannon, but it fits too well not to include.
And there’s your crash course in Gaster! I could talk about his connections to 66, the Grey Followers, the egg man, the cell phone, and the bunker but you don’t actually need to know that to get the gist.
But that’s just a theory! A GAME THEORY!
And if that's not enough Fanon Fodder for you, consider the following: Sans snores in Aster font.
Another interesting idea is that aster could also mean astericks wich are the * in front of all undertale text except interestingly papyrus who doesnt have them. The astericks connection isnt really even much a theory but it just sound kinda cool like hes always there listening

He play a sped up version of Gaster’s theme when you interact with him, the fun value associated with the door is 66, a number which is associated with Gaster a ton in the game files, most notably his stats, and the fact that it’s behind a grey door just like the followers who talk about him. It isn’t a mountain of evidence, but it’s enough that it can’t be overlooked.

Only reason we believe that is because we found the name of the gaster blaster and an npc that spawns if your fun value is specific, talks about the old royal scientist who split himself across time and space by falling into the core.

The knife is in reference to the "real knife" and the red slash is how the main character attacks with weapons

The arrows for the air tilt I believe is windings. In a secret audio log, a speaker (thought to be gaster) talks in windings. Arrows are part of the font so that's why I believe it's windings.
Legend has it the undertale fandom will never figure out the difference between Gaster and the Mystery man...
For clarity, Gaster doesn't have a canon appearance. Mystery Man is a separate character, and doesn't have any connections beyond sharing a sound effect with one of the Gaster Followers.
He's not even the right colour scheme, as the one piece of Gaster(said to be shattered across time and space) we see is in grey like the followers rather than black and white.
As for references:
-Nair is likely a refefence to how Goner Kid comments the umbrella if you have one when talking to him(which also causes him to disappear when leaving the room)
-Fair references Endogeny, one of the amalgamates.
-Up air references Everyman, an attack used by Reaper Bird in which butterflies swarm Everyman's head before some of them fly off in other attacks
-Specials are entirely focused on gaster blasters.
-Smash attacks reference some of fanon Gaster's abilities, which tend to revolve around floating hand BS.
Victory theme is just Gaster's theme, a no-longer obscure part of the soundtrack. Undertalr fans hear it everywhere through a combination of Mandela effect and since it's a simple set of notes often used as a generic Spooky motif(it also appears in Lavender town's theme, for instance.)
-Shield animation references a sprite with a more solid connection to Gaster than the Mystery man has, notable for saying "redacted" in wingdings, a font Gaster is associated with, when spoken to.
Skins:
-Normal Mystery Man. It's meant to be Gaster, but it's not. The title references a line from the river person that likely refers to him, warning the player to beware of him.
-Sands Undertail, referencing Sans judging the player and his nihilistic, slightly depressed side.
-Papyrus, referencing Papyrus' innocent side and possibly his inability to realize that Undyne will never let him join the guard. Or just the fanon idea of him being a naive idiot, which is sadly a common misconception.
-Undie the Undyning.
-Alphys, referencing how she hides away the amalgamates and lies constantly.
-Asgore/Toriel. Colour scheme better fits Asgore, but the description of choosing isolation is closer to Toriel.
-Frisk, referencing the prophecy surrounding Undertale's version of the deltarune.
-Chara, referencing the same thing as Frisk.
-Kris, referencing Deltarune's legend.
-Susie, referencing her general attitude at the start of the game.
-Ralsei, referencing his status as a "prince from the dark"
-Noelle, referencing the theme "Lost Girl" which is relevant to her, as well as possibly Snowgrave.
-Berdly, referencing how Berdly used Noelle's help to become the top student in the class, and how he puts on an arrogant facade that hides a severe case of imposter syndrome.

The Doctor Who Sees the Sky's True Colors is actually a reference to an oddball character from the fighting game franchise "Guilty Gear", known as Faust. The title is a reference to his theme song in the newest entry of the series (Guilty Gear Strive), titled "Alone Infection", where the main chorus literally says
"We've got only one sky"
"Blue, red, and black paranoia!"
I believe the Thing Who Wont Stop is a reference to The Entity known as "RED" from a retro Godzilla NES creepypasta, a monster that torments the protagonist by breaking the laws of and altering the very game.
The Monster Who Slayed the Innocent is a reference to the main villain of hit indie game "Five Nights at Freddy's", William Afton aka The Purple Man, a man who probably needs no introduction for his horrendous atrocities, but funnily enough kinda fits Gaster as both of them died horrific deaths but came back after such.
